By the side of Sourav and Team India
by Shubhankar Bhowmick on Sep 28, 2005 12:06 PM

It's a pity how people repeatedly target Sourav everytime anything goes wrong. The man has led India to numerous wins not only as a captain but also as a player. He was instrumental in bringing back the smile to the waning faces of Indian cricket lovers when we were mired in betting controversy. The person being Captain of the team fought to rule out schism and aimed at developing a bonding amongst players is now being subjected to such a humiliation and is questioned about his physical and mental health? It is surprising to see some of the ex-cricketers also aiming for his head. For a man who has scored 15000 runs in international cricket, its really a pity to find people accusing him of faking injuries and questioning his ability to face pace attack. Its about time people stopped accusing him and insulting him. Had he belonged to some other country he would have earned a lot of respect and love for his achievements and services. We, Indian, have this tendency of praising the likes of Steve Waugh, Stephen Fleming, Micheal Vaughen ... but the person who did similar wonders to Indian cricket is being questioned about physical and mental health. Its really a pathetic situation.
