Kumble is the most committed player on field I saw after Kapil in the 80's. Figures may not justify fully his value. But nothing can show his commitment more clearly than the lone wicket of Lara which he got with a broken jaw. That got us the Series in windies. It is very sad to see the way he was treated in the end of his career.. I'm sure with proper support he would have done far better. Best wishes to kumble for a happy farewell in tests!
Kumble,, You are simply great, I cherished your game, spirit, maturity on the field, a million salutes to you .. The team management might have let you down many times, but you did not let us down when chance was given..

Yes rightly said, he is simply great. He was not in any controversy in his whole one day carrier and always tried of his best every time.
we knew that he is a challenging, never give up attitude, strong mentality and well behaved cricketer. And he never forgets against pakistan at ferozshah kotla, where he took 10 wickets haul and created a history.we are pleased to have cricketer like him and he also justifies.

people from 2 different eras cannot be compared. kapil was a genuine all rounder. kumble was very good with bowling. i think its apples and oranges. both are good and served the country well
Absolutely right sir ! In fact it is Kumble who was asked to bowl way out side the leg stump to the tail enders of opposite team so that they did not get out to him , ultimately Kapil will get chance to break Sir Hadle's record ( does it really call breaking a record ? ) ; Finally Kapil surpassed Haddle & stopped playing thereafter. Nothing against Kapil Dev; The greatest allrounder India has ever produced ! But he has wasted prime years of Srinath . It is very sad that today Kapil is talking about dignified retirement about Sachin when he himself continued his career just for the seck of breaking records.

Only one Cricketer in the world who scored more than 400 test wickets and more than 5000 test runs is KAPIL DEV.
Guys, get matured before making any comment.
Kapil saved many times follow-on taking the tail-enders.
How can you forget Kapil saved follow-on during Azhar captaincy hitting 27 in one over of ED Hemings of ENgland.

Everyone has to get matured.
1) How can anybody forget Kapil Dev giving simplest of the catch to mid wicket to Gatting in the bowling of Hemmings in 1987 world cup semifinal against England at Wankhede , Mumbai ? when need of hour was to stay at the wicket & guide india to victory.
2) How can any body forget the inexplicable shot played by Kapil in test match against England in 1984 series ; we lost that test match & gave England chance to level the series . Kapil got axed in the next match as a punishment. I admit that there was dirty politics in axing Kapil. But you can not deny the fact that the shots played by him & Sandip patil were horrible.
3)How can any body forget the treatment meted out to Manoj Prabhakar during our England tour in 1986. When there was a need for 3rd seamer, Majoj inspite of being in 16 squad was left out & Madan lal who not in the squad was asked to play?
4) How can any body forget that Javagal Srinath ( one of the very few cricketers who played unselfishly for India ) missed his prime years of cricket as Kapil continued his out of form career just for breaking Haddle,s record?
5) How can any body forget how Kapil ruined the career of Raju Kulkarni ?
I again repeat Kapil is the greatest all rounder India has ever produced. But there are some hard facts going against Kapil which only immature can ignore.

You stupid how can you say Kumble is better than Kapil. Kapil is regarded as one of the best alrounders of his generation. He is the only fast (medium pacer) India ever produced and never dropped. I do have due respect to Kumble for what ever he achieved in his career. However it is stupidity to compare two.
