The ongoing worldcup broughtlot of woes to the so called heros of TEAM INDIA.as well as well as BCCI.The main reason for our debacle is the hype given to cricket by both print media as well electrnic.the game was commercialised to such an extent that antisocial and underworld have taken contol . it is a big shame on part of every one of us and especilly the cricket controlling boards and ICC for the happenings like killing the coach of pakisthan who was a great well wisher of the game and no nonsence man.As regards indian team failure lots of voices are comming up.as it was said success has so many claiments but defeat is an orphan i feel the bcci should pay attentin to the following points.1, IS IT possible for it do away with politicians heading it rather putting management experts and technocatrs and ex players?THE management shold also restrain players in doing lot ofADS.the press also should notgive much hype.the public also should notmake players heros over night and zeros the very next day.the players on their part should keep it in mind that their existance is with game only

Bongs & Cricket
by Raj Aryan on Mar 28, 2007 11:19 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

We all know that all Bongs hate Chappel. Now they have got a very great opportunity to blame Chappel & Dravid for the total failure of the team. My request to all bongs is to come out of regional mind set & start thinking about the nation. These are the same people who cheered the visiting team when India played SA in Eden Gardens. This shows their partiotism. We all know that commies sided with Chinese in 1961 war. They ready to welcome chinese & hand over our whole nation to China.
Chappel & Dravid were the people who tried unsuccessfully to instill discipline , fitness & team work among the players. But as we all know that India is hero worshipping nation irespective whether they perform or not. I don't consider Sachin & Ganguly as world class cicketers. They have only performed on Indian sub continient dead pitches. Dravid is the only player who has performed on overseas pitches. Ganguly is known for his manipulations which unfortunatly did not work with chappel.
I request all the cricket lovers not to blame Chappel & Dravid for all the failures. I request them to look at the cricket board member who are sychophants.
If chappel leaves who will you bring in... Amarnath/Shastri - who were known for slow batting.
For god's sake... we need a full time professional coach.. who can mould the Indian team. If fearless disciplined Aussie cannot mould this team, then anybody in India can mould this team. All these cricketers think that they are all stars & they think that they are larger than life and get away with what ever they do. There are regional fanatics to defend them.
I my request to all is.. Grow up & get the reality.

Well said my friend. Our Bengali friends are very rude against players from all other states. They are up against Dravid just because he replaced Gangulli as Captain. The way they jeered Indian team in Eden Garden against SA I dont think any other state in India will resort to such unpatriotic step just because their hero was sidelined. They never go by immediate statistics or form of a player. They want Gangulli to lead Team India till he is forced to replace cricket bat with walking stick. Friends, you belong to the land of Subhashchandra Bose and Rabindranath Tagore. You should speak first as Indian then Bengali.

It has been proved time and again that Ganguly's captainship brain is much sharper than Dravid's. All you need to do is not to be a bong, but look at the results and figures - and the key decisions they took - which shaped the results of the games. Please note a game is a game only and anyone can support anyone, one needs to be foolish enough to call it a test of patriotship. That actually reflected open-mindedness of bongs - and what you said only proved how much narrow minded you are.

Dear friend,
Can u recall how Indian team was given a green top wicket against Australia, only to bring Ganguli India to defeat. Bengalis paid Dravid in the same coin. What is the grievance when the scores are even

Raj Aryan,

First, please come out of your regionalist and racist mindset.

Who gave you the idea that all Bengalis are communists? Communist scum exist in all countries and regions, not only Bengal.

What do you know about patriotism of Bengalis? Have you ever read the history of India's freedom struggle?

Please do not form opinions about communities just by the reaction of some cricket crazy fans for whom hero worship is bigger than supporting the Indian team. Such fans are there all over India, not just Bengal.

Raj - please open your eyes and ears. you talked about commies and china and supporting visitors etc. Why don't you talk about the freedom fighters like Netaji, Bagha Jatin; or the religious leaders like Vivekananda, Aurobindo; or that the most number of Indian Noble Lauriates are bongs or worked in Bengal??

One needs to be very idiot like you to continue with Dravid's failed captainship, Chappell's headmaster-like coaching approach which is a total failure. In fact Chappell is so ignorant that he said India did not win any big tournament since 1985 - while under Sourav Ganguly only India won Natwest Trophy, Hero Cup and Championship Trophy; and also reached the final of 2003 world-cup, whereas under chappell-dravid it failed to make even to the quarter-finals.

Instead of being biased aginst bongs - open your eyes to the facts and figures. Though it is useless to try to infuse some sense into you, but still I wanted to take a chance and so I replied. May God bless you.

Dude.. get a life.. your reply stinks of regional mindset. You bongs never change and never accept the reality. Look the stats who had performed very well when Ganguly was captain, Dravid's name will stand out. Stat's speak for themselves.

Blame game
by raghu venkat on Mar 28, 2007 11:19 AM  Permalink

The blame game has started and it was only expected. Before all these why not we reflect on the injustice done to Umpire Darrel Hair, who was unceremoniously shown the door for carrying out his duties as per the rule book.

INDIA AND PAKISTAN had the combined money power in ICC to do what they liked and it was misused. Now we paid the penalty with our exit even before the tournament started in right earnest.

In this age you reap what you sow and punishment is not delayed. What a shame for us to be out in this way.

Just a reflection for everybody to be good and do good.

We have to blame the entire system which is chaired by an old politician. The system does not work on merits. It has considerations other than merit like zonal representation, politics and last but not the least- money.
No one can improve our performance under the above circumstances.First politicians should quit cricket board and it should be run by cricket professionals.

RE:KIRAN MORE IS A FOOL
by suresh p on Mar 28, 2007 11:35 AM  Permalink
But when Moody told to Murali that he was to old to field , Murali wanted to proof it was wrong. What Mr.Ganesh , can u point out one single player in our team who is having this type of attitudes? Just remember that this same coach and Captain had been guiding this team to continuous wins even without the so called master blasters Sachin, Saurav etc. Ofcoures More was the chairman then.

Dont blame dravid or chappel
by on Mar 28, 2007 11:18 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Captian or the coach are not the only wrong-doers.
Some points to ponder:
1. Our selection relied on intermittent high-performance than consistency. Picking up Dhoni, "incomparable SHEWAG", Yuvraj and for that matter 'sachin' speaks for this.
2. What is the status of Yuvraj, Dhoni in front of sachin or dravid. These guys are un-necessarily projected as super-stars.
3. This 2007 WC Indian playing 11 was composed more of all hyped-up super-stars. Remember, it is difficult to drag a team of super-stars than a team w/ right mix of super-stars and children of lesser gods.
4. Dravid speaks of 'Pressure' that caused this debacle. Why this pressure comes...it is because most of the team members are hyped-up for their individual performance. I'm sure, whenever yuvraj, dhoni, sehwag walk in to bat....they must be primarily thinking " today, *** I *** should perform" rather than the keyword "We". Ganguly's snail paced innings in this WC speaks for it. More concerned to keep his place safe.
4. To sum it up, our indian team need right attitude than extrodinary talent. Simple anology "In any office a team size of 5 consists of 1 high experienced lead, 1 mid-level and 2 juniors who are capable of learning fast and following instructions to deliver". Our team of 11 should ideally be of such composition. On contrary we have more leaders (sehway, sachin, ganguly, dravid, yuvraj, dhoni, harbajan (yuvi, dhoni not real leaders but head-strong enough not to follow orders).
5. Lastly, the brand ambassadors. Inclination of players for this endorsements is what the main culprit for media-hype. The moment some new-comer in the team hits a furious century or wins a couple of matches, he starts appearing for items from razors to underwears. No need to mention Sahara or Pepsi that rides on this team.
This has to stop for all reasons.

Why Gangly now !!!
by Mahesh Somashekaraiah on Mar 28, 2007 11:18 AM  Permalink

Indian cricket will improve only if domestic cricket becomes more competitive. It is a pity we still don't have National level one-day tournament which is worth watching. Ask yourself how many of you watch Ranji or Dullep trophy. How can you build the psyche of players, when they don't have pressure cocker exp at domestic level? It is like sending solders to war without mental and technical preparation. Australia, England and south Africa has very good domestic cricket which is worth watching, this gives exp for your players to perform at peak level even during domestic cricket. Also BCCI should make it mandatory for everyone to play in domestic tournaments.

For all of you Ganguly supporters, did u see how he was in field he could have saved at least 10 runs in his fielding. Also see the way he got out in crucial Srilanka match, if he was responsible he should have stayed back and played anchor role. Just remember how Dravid played when Ganguly was captain, most the best partnerships India had in the last 6 years was with responsible Dravid at one end. So stop worshiping Hero%u2019s, We have best memories of Ganguly let%u2019s not spoil those.

One more point, politicians should not run cricket.
