who told you that they have taken bribes mate. do you have a proof. if proven that they had taken bribes then they should be punished but dont otherwise get too emotional and come out with statements like this for all we know ganguly chose chappel as coach. and more just gave the team which chappel and dravid wanted. and they won initially with record no. of victories chasing scores, with young team. but then when they lost in west indies in one days, we people applied pressure on them to pick people who were unfit and past their prime. we pressurised the board to change selection comittee. and the team selected for world cup was selected by new comittee which didnt have kiran more in it, but had vengsarkar dont you think tendulkar/ganguly and sehwag are responsible in a way for not trying to be fitter and not putting their hand up and playing that good responsible innings when the team needed them
We should have ranking system in the domestic cricket. The prayers should be screened from the grass root level, i mean atleast from Distric level. The players selected on the basis of performance in the district level should compete at the state level in state tournaments. Each state cricket association should have a systematically prepared ranking for their players. The criteria for assertaining the ranking should be well defined for bowling and batting. The players at top ranking in batting and bowling should be uncoditionally selected for the national tournaments.
At the national level, we should have match format based on the state ranking and state teams should be placed accordingly for competitions. This should be a long and comprehensive procedure, wherein each team should get ample opportunity to prove their calibre and strength. Likewise in the state level, players ranking should be prepared at the national level too, based on the performance in the inter-state competitions. The players at the top ranking should be selected in the national team. In this excercise the national selection body becomes less important. The selectors should have the guts to say no to the non-performing players, whoever they may be. Personal records, reputation and experience are nothing to do in the game, unless they are applied with positive frame work and patriotism. No experience and records are necessary to get at zero.
Hmm.. Well I don't know why is so much of hype created of our early exit. It happens to the best of the teams, Pakistan in this world Cup, WestIndies in last world cup.. Check out he football world cup in which defending champions France were booted out after their loss to Senegal. Well overall the game is becoming more competitive and for a change the overhyped indian cricket team will atleast have to do a reality check. Like most of the Indian Cricket fans I wanted India to winn the world cup Alsa! Rahul Dravid and Greg Chapell shouldn't be held responsible, because when a team with so many star fails to perform they can't work out miracle. Rahul can set the field try out bowling options and do his best, but if the players fail to support his game plan no ways could he do anything. Greg Chapell Would have definetly have wanted the boys to win, his career was at stake and so was his reputation. Cricket is teams game and no one in India seem to play as a team and thats the reason for the loss.
Well said Mr.Kiran More, I liked your attitude of playing good politics.When u say senior players who had not done coaching anyday should not be considered instead u named those players whom Indian Cricket history or fans o not remember much.When a player of a caliber of yours can become chief of selection committee than why not a player of caliber of gavaskar,kapil dev, mohinder amarnath, sandeep patil,maninder singh , navjot singh sidhu , can become coach.We Indians had very weak point that its imported than it must be good, yes just look how good it is,to save his face earlier he dragged ganguly,zaheer,ashish nehra,balaji & now he is dragging sachin,yuvraj,& please Mr.More dont just say Rahul is good captain, the result never says the story its true,but do u think he is worth what he got? The straight answer is NO.Why did he took sehwag,harbhajan,in this squad.Why was sehwag not dropped when he failed against bangladesh? why was dinesh kartik not in team? why when all 18 months we had experimented with Irfan in top slote was not taken as risk in any of mathches? We need man with quality not man with low herat.We all know that how good batsman srikanth was but he failed as captain because he was soft spoken.We need man to lead man & boys & we had two answers either we switch back t ganguly along with yuvraj or make yuvraj along with zaheer.
It is Kiran More who inducted dirty politics in Cricket. The root cause lies in former selection who laid the faulty foundation to the preparation for WC. The Failure trangle is KIRAN-CHAPPEL-DRAVID who first eliminated Dada (Saurabh) as captain to make their way clear. Secondly, they kept experimenting with vague arguments of "flexeble" cricket. I wonder they would have made Bishan singh Bedi and Chandrasekher to open for India or Ball fast as well as spin as per requirements :( a flexible approach to WIN world Cup.
The players were put under tremendous pressure to perform else be dropped. Literally most of the player were shevering due to threat imposed by the coach and selection committee. Even a well performing Pathan, Sreesanth, Karthik, Sehwag, Zahir, Sourabh, Uthappa kept fighting holding nerve to retain heir place in the team. It is obvious there is always a state of relaxation after a great acheivement. R.P.Singh, Gambhir, Romesh power lost the battle.
The net conclusion is that- selection committee chairman (More) should share 80% of the blame and rest for captain and coach.
The two years of coaching saw Irfan Pathan forgot the line and length ans pace. Zahir was kicked in and out. Sehwag also forgot his own batting style. Even upcoming Dhoni was gven de-acceleration and hence spoilt.
CaptainShip: The stearing was with Chappel. Chappel wanted to be the non-playing captain which was not possible with dada in the driver's seat. Captainship is not as easy as Dravid-Chappel-More tringle take it to be. The quality that Ganguly possesses is not there in Dravid.
How many years do you need to do a miracle ??? is 10 years enough ?? Please stop bull shhitting around. Chappel was hired to give some results for world cup and THIS IS THE RESULT, why don't we fire him like any other professional company ???? MORE what's your interest in all this ???? Chappel also had some nice players like Sehwag, Dhoni, Pathan, Ganguly but HE SCREWED THEM ALL and KEPT his experiments going on UNDER YOUR NOSE, it's a pity that you guys didn't realize what's going on
