was Chappal a coach or a Joker. he has to only ensure that the team performs in the tournament. he has failed to train our idiots to stay put & play for the runs. no use in complaining. we are convinced there is a lot of politicking in the BCCI, sab log milke buri tarike se maar diya . now don's start bad mouthing against each other.
As foreign coach Chappel has definately been restircted or pressurised..no way someone can come up with such kind of statements after WC is over for INDIA..We all know there is only politics in INDIAN cricket than GAME!! Only Senior players should be blamed for this not coach! People are cursing Chappel for WC disaster but what about AWAY series win during his reign and what about 13 match on a trot record which is best ever and i doubt anyone can break that! Who should be credited for this acheivements only Dravid, Tendulkar?? and not coach??
@Zulfiqar, I totally aggree with your opinion, except that, Chapell didn't come up the with the statement now...but on FEB 17th, through SMS. Also I believe the statement has been released by the Press or Rajan Bala and not Mr. Chapell. Chapell has his limitations too. People are blaming just one person just for the heck of it or probably because he is a AUSTRALIAN.

Had he said this before the WC, teams morale would dropped further (not sure how far low can it go though!) and we would lost against Bermuda too

You also must see that he wass given the team of his choice by the then chairman of selectors Kiran More, but what big shit did he achieve in more than a year, he is fighting for Raina, who is not able to score in domestic arena for 15-20 matches at stretch, which is why, he was out of question. His vision saw India in dire straits, they were not able to bat out 40 overs in South Africa. The whole story is that whatever team was available did not have a good leader.
We needed someone good to lead from the front, what was dravid doing against Bangladesh, any combination needs time to settle in, whole problem was that chappel did not let any combination to settle down, his experimentations would need 20 years to find one formidable combination ultimately.
His philosophy just didnt work coz he came and tried things he shouldnt have. He created differences amongst teammates. It was him and More more so to be blamed. Dravid was after all a puppet captain. How much of it did he anyway decide.
Lets not talk of his vision. The team performed in his inital days coz that was readymade team created over years by sourav and wright. When problems came his visionary team was clueless how to handle it.
Guys whole problem here is we all are forgetting that this is cricket not soccer, this has to be driven by strong and aggresiive captain not a coach sitting outside...
Hope selectors learn and sack Greg and get a more eco friendly coach who can get alongwith everyone and work as a coach and not as a super captain.

buddy wht limitation, he is the coach and if he is not happy with the team and he sud have told them the way he did with ganguly ... but he did not do tht bcose even he was not sure in himself ... when he say the result then he felt tht wht he was thinking was right .... Abe is he a coach or assistent coach ..... well the result say it all ....
Our Team India dont want any foriegn coach.Its better to assign some local coach like KapilDev.This will make better understanding between players and coach.And more importantly dirty politics has to be removed from cricket.

It's not about foreign coach, Ramesh! Anshuman Gaekwad was the coach of Indian team for a while...Did something extra-ordinary happen during that time? We lack the committment. That's the bottomline!!
Also notice "senior players in the side resisted the inclusion of younger players". Since seniors have secured their positions, they show their high-handedness and decide who should play.

yeah Frigging Kapil Dev!!! Better go and check his record when he was the coach , India lost far more matches than India has now....and better communication between the players & coach?? Kapil can't speak hindi nor english properly for nuts and his solution for all the problems are play with your heart..dil laga ke!!! No strategy nothing.....maybe he was a player par excellence but as a coach you need a different kind of person all together.... & the right conditions around him.

What Chappel said is correct. Only stone-aged players sachin, saurav and dravid had let our country down. I am not blaming them but their age is over and they had done well in the past. When u are struggling for runs then y u want to play and slow down the runrate. The fans are not pushing u from cricket but we are kindly asking u to retire gently and guide and share ur experience with youngsters like Viv Riches, Kapil,Amarnath, Ranatunga, Imran, etc. Dont think that struggling is failure because even Riches, Mianded, Kapil, sobers, etc were struggled at the end of their career. Spl advice to Yuvraj singh: Dont think u are a star when u are rising. If U think that u are a Star then why u are not having good average like Sachin, ganguly, ponting or lara and why u are not playing for our country continuously???????
