Why this message comes now?
by Ullash Kumar Rout on Mar 28, 2007 12:23 PM  Permalink

Does Chappel need another tenure to prove his potential? Is he right from his approach? If yes, why there is no integrity inside the India team and why the team lost so cowardly? Does Chappel think that Jayasuriya is doing bad? Why the young guns failed during his tenure? Did not he push them into line? What was the fault with him. When young gun could not fire, then only olds guns came. They came only by their merit. It was not sympathy by anyone or any member. Only for the old guns India won to Srilank and WI and the credit was added to Captain Dravid. Captain failed in this world cup for his decission only. He is a great player but does not know how to lead a team. Voluntarily he should handover the charge to others. Still he is showing his face to media and try to say that I am shameless.

yes what can a coach do, he just guides them ultimately the players have to play. If they cannot paly in crisis or pressure they have to quit the game, no trail and error basis or if so buts in WC cricket, they can do such things in home cricket

Hi.

Actually there was no coach for the 1983 victorious team. Only Mr.P.R.Mann Singh (he's from Hyderabad, if i remember correct) went with the team. He was Manager, PR man etc., all rolled into ONE. That TEAM had guts, pride for playing for the nation and above all Team Spirit. Sunny and Kapil might have had their differences, but when it came to Team INDIA, they were one. That spirit is missing today.

Robin Singh is the BEST Coach for the Indian Team...he will be a good mentor for Guys like ganguly...Who play only for there personal gains...The main man responsible for the loss against bangladesh...Where taking a mammoth nearly 150 balls for a mere 50 runs...I saw Robin Singh on TV...on a cricket reality show... and heard him say that a player should play according to the merit of the ball and not for individual gains....Which is very true...What say Guys!!!

only for that India reached above 130 runs. Neither Indian would be all out below 130. No one able to keep the wicket (Sehwag, Dravid, Sachin, Dhoni, etc). Are not they good players? The mistake was to opt for bating in that game. One game turned the fate of Team India.

It is only In India SUCH" idol worship is "IN", As u have correctly commented he surely wud have struggled to have found a place in any other country's team based on his form not now for the last 3 years at least if not more. He may be one of the greatest batsmen to have played cricket for India, even at the cost of counterattacks and reprimand for the comment, it wont be overstatement to say that he has miserably failed India when it really mattered in the last few years when he was clearly found to have lost most traits of his greatness of abilites and fluency. That is purely 'coz his natural wear and tear and also 'coz he is one of the most nervous players u might have ever seen. Sure billions always had large expectations from this great lad but the delivery has failed his efforts at most of the times. Not that he is not playting well but then it is the law of average than anything else. Many capable players r waiting in the wings to take his place. he is clearly past his prime. Perhaps he has grown much bigger than the game itself and his exit has become overdue for long

world over. sukalp, hyd

Who is the "writer" to whom Chappell sent the SMS? Why is this being leaked now? If it is authentic, why did the "writer" not publish the "scoop" immediately?

India's highest wicket-taker calls time on ODIs
by Sreeprasad TS on Mar 28, 2007 11:58 AM  Permalink

.. Yes.. it is about Kumble.. ya man.. he is going to call it off.. as it is given in the following link..
http://www.dnaindia.com/report.asp?NewsID=1087501.
It says " It's official now. Anil Kumble, India's highest wicket-taker, has announced his retirement from One-day cricket. The 36-year old made this known to his India team-mates at a team meeting on Monday night here at their hotel.

A member of the team said on condition of anonymity that the meeting had only two agendas %u2013 Kumble's retirement and discussion on team's travel plan to India.

%u201CWhile we could sense it coming but when it actually came, it was shocking. It has been that kind of World Cup where the team has been getting one bad news after the other," this player said.

Sources informed that a public announcement to this effect will be made when the team returns home."
ha ha ha..

I certainly hope that.. there are more to come in this way.. so that we can avoid the so called "resting" or to say dropping the "gods of indian cricket.. and avoid the embaressment..(i dont know to whom). But i know.. hope is only a hope.. and if it comes true.. gr8.. if not.. bit your nails.. for nothing..
cheers india.. and goodluck..

compared to the other players KAIF was hardly given any chances and when given also he was moved arnd i nthe batting order.....and now tht sehwag has hit a "brilliant" ( sic ) hundred aaginst bermuda everyone's happy , i'm sure if kaif had been given so many chances he would have done far better by now.

shut your mouth, a timid player who cannot withstand any pressure. he may be good player, but one who cannot perform when needed or in pressure is no better than bring a person from the stand or crowd and asking him to play. he has been given many and many chances but he could not prove himself. He is a dead cricketer
