You know. What you say should be definitely incorporated. Few people know that once New Zeland team withdrew their team from International Test side, citing reason that they did not have a test team worth playing against anybody. After two long years, when kiwis thought that now they had a team worth playing against other test nations, they announced their intention to field a test side. India should take a leaf out of this and shelve our present Indian team altogether, and field our under 19 team at all cricketing events. This way the under 19 team which is the future team of India will be richer with experience and play with exuberance and with nothing to lose attitude like Bangladesh and win tournaments.

by mutharaju ramana on Mar 26, 2007 04:02 PM  Permalink

Our playersn nor their god fathers do not have time to think how best we make the changes instead of they are thinking just changing the captain by nominating the Mr Sachin the old horse who is fit to retire but he has to make the 15000 runs at any cost before hang the shoes. This is the fate of our country

Wrong from the beginning!
by erode bhanukumaar on Mar 26, 2007 03:59 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

1.First mistake is the selection of coach-Greg Chappel is alright as a cricketer but as a coach he does not have credibility nor temparament. An injured(middle finger wagging),underarm bowling instructer, who bursts out in between about people cant be a great coach! All he succeeded was instill a sense of uncertainity with every cricketer availbale with his experiment.
2.Wrong Captain-Rahul Dravid an excellent batsmen but not a good /strong captain with any asuthority.people were just hoping ,dreaming of repeat of 2003 performance.
3.Wrong officials-Politicians like Sharad Pawar cannot be expected to run a cash rich administration in a better way.All he and his cronies Bindra etc are interested is power, money, comforts and then ,importantly hounding out Dalmia.
4. better players are there but they dont find place.
We need to think in long term and groom players.
next bangladesh Tour and we win and the whole nation will rejoice forgetting major points!
This is India.

We Indians Luv to be ruled
by Derendra on Mar 26, 2007 03:57 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

We want to be slaves for centuries to come, first it was Muslim rulers , follwed by Britishers, politicians and now new breed of actors and cricket players.we always fall on the feet of the so called stars.Just see the example of Dhoni, people are mad at his hair style, his doodh drinking habit etc.but we never bother to remember other real life heroes like Maj.PITAMBARE ( Who is he dude?) he is the man who was martyred in the JK fighting the real war ( not the war where these cricket jokers are portrayed). He si having an 18 months kid,the same day the national dailies were reporting abouth the fate of Sanjay Dutt (for us he is big)in the court and his 18 year old jean clad ameriacn bred ,party hopping dauter.

We Indians are literally slaves. We do not want to leave decent.

Let politics be politics. War be war. Sport be sport. Don't mix the three. The situation where someone who needs the attention not getting and guys like Sanjay Dutt getting all the attention.

Please understand, cricket is just a game. Politics entered the scene because jokers from India and Pakistan thought that it was the best way to bring peace between the tho countries.

Jokers from Bollywood think its cool to be seen with cricketers.

A great game has been made into a joke by us.

Life in the cricketing cauldron
by Chandrakant Khandelwal on Mar 26, 2007 03:55 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

It is such a Shame for the Indian Cricketers and the body governing them.

We all Indians feel so patriotic during our matches only to live with the fact that the hopes will be dashed.

Crickters need money, advertisemnts and glamour while the Board is more interested in playing politics and earning huge sums of money.

They cannot understand how does it feels to be defeated especially when Cricket is a religion in our country.

People from all walks of life get disturbed after India loses match. We do not expect to win all the matches but some good performances during the world cup would have reinstated the faith we have in the team.

We respect these Cricketers so much, but i wonder how they dont understand the emotions that fans go through in a India match.

They have made us let down and they should definitely apologise to the whole country about it by not stepping dowm but by increasing their performances in the coming seasons and make India number 1 team in the world.

Now that we have lost the world cup we should eye for the number 1 slot in the ICC rankings.

Hope Dravid and Company realise it.

Cricket should not be a religion. It is just a game. I think Hindus and Muslims largely do not mistrust each other now. So cricket need not be a binding factor.

About reaching the pinnacle, I agree with you. For that we need to support the team. Not burn effigies and stone houses
