Domestic cricket is the answer
by A K on Mar 26, 2007 06:31 PM  Permalink

Domestic cricket should be at the same level as international cricket. And that should start with pitches - make pitches like the ones in Australia, England, WI. There should be separate one day and ranji style tournaments. International team members should have to do a minimum number of domestic games each year. Once domestic players don't need extended 'exposure' to international cricket to start performing, the 'seniors' will be easy to discard.

Indian Cricket
by kajal majumdaar on Mar 26, 2007 06:30 PM  Permalink

I think Indian cricket players are more interested ad business. their body language, way playing is very casual. Dravid failed to gearup his soldiers. They are very fearful. Against SriLanka they were to busy to return to pavilion, their body gesture was telling that they were just obeying the formalities.Because their prime busines is ad.

Indian Bowling
by darshan singh on Mar 26, 2007 06:30 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Everyone is talking about indian batting.I would rather say that it was indian bowling who is responsible for indian cricket team's loss. When srilanka get bangaldesh allout on 132 then why not india.Except india all other teams have very good bowling. They hav econfdnce if their batsmen score 150 their bowler get out other team less than 150. But indian team is not sure even if they score 350.

Someyimes batsmen are failuer than bowlers should do great jobs. But that is not happeneing...

We shd lay more flat, bouncy pitches, so that our bowlers would know how to bowl in there...its clear that none of our bowler is successful in those pitches and they only get some success in slow pitches as in subcontinent..

There is absolutely nothing wrong with Greg as coach. The function of a coach is akin to a teacher. The teacher cannot write the examination for his students. What happened to our senior players like Tendulkar,Yuvraj and their likes? Still need breast-feeding? Unfortunately our players are the most highly paid cricketers in the world. They play only for money and self-glory.They get into the field with an I-don't-care attitude.Unless they are made to run for their money, even street cricket players will defeat them.It is time our International Cricketers gave up cricket and took to playing marbles or Guli danda. This would prevent India from getting into further shame.

we lost because of Ganguly factor
by N Venugopal on Mar 26, 2007 06:27 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

As a person Ganguly proved that he is capble of turning tides but his approach tohe game was to save his skin and nothing sort of pulling rug from ones feet. His reinstatment after the email episod and patranising by none other than BCCI chief Mr Pawar has become disastrous for Indian WC plan. It denied a solid place to Md kaif like, The language factor has helped Ganguly to regain the place but derailed the World cup plan. Many changes were posible when Chapple was listened but ones derailed the engine(process) it was difficult to proceed. One thing where Dravid might have failed in captaincy is in his persistance of Sewhag. But he is captain of public sector unit slow and steady. Not suitable for present day cricket.

Failure of World Best Players(for name sake)
by madhavi s on Mar 26, 2007 06:24 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

It%u2019s most disgracing news to hear that Rahul Dravid was sacking and the new Captain will be Sachin Tendulkar. It is the most embarrassing moment for Indian Cricket. Let%u2019s Discuss about it. How the Board change the Captaincy from Rahul to Sachin? Is it right thing? Ok, Rahul was not inspired the teammates. But is it necessary for the players like Sachin, Sourav, Sehwag,Yuvraj & Dhoni inspiration and motivation from the Captain? The players who played above 100 ODI%u2019s & even 350 plus ODI%u2019s want inspiration to win? There is no responsibility for them in a do or die match? The most senior player in the present world cricket not even gets a single run? It is very shame on his part of cricket life. Isn%u2019t not? It%u2019s correct the players are not always gets hundreds, fifties every time. But isn%u2019t necessary for senior players to gets at least 10 runs in this situation? If they didn%u2019t get atleast 10 runs in a do or die match how can we recognize them as World%u2019s Best Player? How can we call them as great players in the world? It is shame on the part of their life

BCCI
by krishnakumar bommireddipalli on Mar 26, 2007 06:23 PM  Permalink

BCCI should call emergency meeting and select the following as office bearers
President: Johny Lever
Secretary: Mamta banerjee
Treasurer: Lalu Prasad Yadav: He will turn around BCCI and players
Chief of Selection Committee: Md.Azharuddin

They will definitely do a better job than the present set up under the Maratha Warrior/s
