A RIGHT DECISION MY FRIEND. WE NEED TO BE BLAMED FOR MAKING THIS ORDINARY PEOPLE TO CONTROL OUR EMOTIONS. THEY DO NOT HAVE ANY SOFT CORNERS FOR PEOPLE OR THE NATION WHAT THEY WANT TO DO IS MEND MONEY AS LONG AS THIS GAME AND EMOTIONALLY FOOLS SUPPORT THEM. HOW MAN CAN MAKE THEM GOD???
BETTER TO TAKE STEP. STOP SUPPORTING THIS PEOPLE AND LET THEM KNOW THEY ARE ONLY HUMAN BEING NOT GOD.
Arjn Swarup's write up seems to be highly lopsided!! The "process"& "method" things overhyped by Chappel & co. did not fail once as mentioned against WI series), but many a time like Malayasia series, Champions trophy & SAF one dayers!!
Still, Swarup seems to find solace from the fact that the same "method' produced results in 6-1 drubbing of SL in 2006 , which seems to be tip of the iceberg. the relent less Chop & Change theory of Chappel seems to have converted talentslike Pathan & Sehwag into non-performers, since they them selves started doubting their abilities.
So, the fact remains the the failure is a collective one & the onus should be taken by Chappel & Dravid for flawed "methods" & "processes".
I'd like to know the views of other rediff bloggers on this...

I totally agree with you Mr Chandra.
Arjun Swarup is attributing this defeat for not following Chappell's "youngsters" campaign consistently. Probably he must have forgot that the youngsters to whom is referring to ( kaif,raina, mongia) have failed miserably over the last two years and did not live up to the trust posed in them.
Chappel is responsible for damaging the careers of Sehwag and Pathan due to his short sighted policies and practices.
There was no failure in tactics or strategy by Team India. The Indian cricket team did the best they could. It is blindingly obvious that we are not in the Super 8 because of the failure of Bermuda. We need to make large scale changes in the Bermuda team to ensure such things don't happen again.

i just hope this is the beginning of the end of cricket and other sports get its due...pls people support other sports too like hockey,football,tennis(which are short and sweet and require more physical movement)...
I AGREE THAT THE INDIAN TEAM HAS NOT PLAYED WELL. BUT DONT WE ALL THINK THE MEDIA, US, SPONSORS EVERYONE PUT TOO MUCH PRESSURE ON THE COACH AND THE CRICKET TEAM TO PERFORM. I AM OF THE OPINION ONE CANNOT WIN UNDER PRESSURE. REMEMBER WE WON THE 1983 WORLD CUP B'CAUSE NO ONE THOUGHT WE COULD WIN AND HENCE NO EXPECTATIONS, NO PRESSURE THOUGH IT WASNT REALLY A TEAM OF GREAT PLAYERS.

GREG CHAPPEL I FEEL IS A GREAT COACH WHO DID NOT GET MUCH SUPPORT FROM PALYERS, SELECTORS AND OTHERS. REMEMBER AUSTRALIA ARE WORLD CHAMPIONS AND EVERY TEAM WANTS TO PLAY LIKE THEM THEN WHO ELSE BUT AN AUSTRALIAN CAN BE THE BEST COACH.

Cricket faiulure is special because so many people are cricket fans in India. Millions of Indian Play cricket, Indian Cricketers are richest in the world. So much hype behind cricket. Unlike other sports.
This points why cricket.
My friend, 1983 team was a team of great players. Please revise the names and you will have it. We Indias are fools going behind one game. We should concentrate on every game to make things better.
There is soo much pressure for Brazil football team in every worldcup. How do you think they perform so well amidst soo many teams????

u fool ur thinking is very bad. u go to bottom of dravid ass.
Team should be selected based on the Psychology of the players.This should be the first criteria. In armed forces, this is the selection process (for Officer Cadre) bcoz what they believe is, if a person's psychology is suiatable for that job then he can improved even from scratch. They are not selected on the basis of physique in the beginning. Later they build the candidate in the cruical areas like war, disaster management etc. U can build the person according to the requirements of the game. if they r mentally strong then half of the match is won. Therefore psychological tests must be conducted to asses the suitability of the players to the game. Bcoz its no more a game now. Now Cricket is played more as a mental game. For this reason BCCI must take initiative of adopting this method and try it on the young boys (under 14). Select the players and train those who get through the tests. Its like a cricket school.

Rightly said. Immediately, Indian team management should appoint a foreign Psychologist. So that he can assist our players in mainitaing their mental balance and sound mind set.
When you play for your country you should perform as if your life depends on it.
With So much cricket and so easy returns from endorsements the players dont feel the need to risk injury and to give more than 100% in each and every macth they play in and before that rigourous training regime to be in prime fitness before the match.
BCCI has killed the Goose which layed Golden Egg. Cricket will never be the same again.
High time we name them BCCI 11.
The Sight of Tendulkar , Sehwag and Sourav have become repulsive to the eyes, Dravid is going to join the gang sooner or later.

I agree totally.. I dont think that cricketers will command the same respect ever again in india. I just hope that our youngsters pick up another sport soon. this is the right time for the govt to act in promoting other sports..
Indian team played the worst match in the world cup. even the new teams were good in fielding when compared to Indians with most experienced batsmans. Dinesh karthick was not selected in the 3 matches why? He is a good opener he can replace Robin/Sehwag?And even Sreesanth and Pathan(All rounder) were not selected why??????????????????.

Pathan was pathetic before the tourni, sreesanth average, Karthik limited with talent..had they played, India would still have lost and you would have said why were they played..basic problem is Indians were poor fielding side and burdened with undue pressure created by media hype..blame the media and tv channels.

Kash ye lines team Indian dhyan me rakhati. Jan pe khelke bhi Army office Rs. 4 Lakh par year kamata hai. And we always cheated by these foolish cricketers and furget our real hero%u2019s.
We all know that BCCI cannot do this. Then who cn do this??? "WE PEOPLE CAN DO IT", How?????
We should all make the following decision a) We will not buy products endorsed by the cricketrs. Openly protest and stop buying the products. Sponsors will be reluctant to loose the market share by going against people's view.
b) We should not go to stadium for watching a one day match or test match. If the gate collection is bad then BCCI will have a direct hit on this account indirect hit in the form of instadia ads and other stuff.
c) As a final stage we should stop buying all products for which ads are shown between the overs during the Match
