Team won 26 out of 73 odis when sachin was captain
Team won 76 odis out of 146 matches when ganguly was captain
Team won 33 odis out of 65 ( including this WC matches) when dravid was captian
Both sachin and ganguly had more time as captain
Ganguly had full support of bcci and dalmiay prsd with ganguly for all 5 yrs of his captaincy. Nobody ex cricketer or board officials dare not speak against ganguly's blunders He continued to enjoy captaincy even his late 3 yers he was out form and non performing but he was forutnate that dravid sachin, kumble laxman sewag were all in form and contributed lot his success as captain. more than ganguly leadership qualities.
this W some players deliberately played negative cricket and did not support the team or captain ppl are blaming dravid poor captain and praising ganguly captaincy. this was happening from last 18 months when dravid made captain. But when team won matches all players took credit. team won odis and tests without ganguly and sachin under dravid's captaincy
dravid's big fault is he is not authorative shared the victory with his teammates, and not godfather to support him in bcci

Yes, well said it is failure of strategy. Some key points, I would consider,
1. Greg was a star in his playing days. He likes to be a star. The problem with such people is they always want to be the center of attention. Again a coach needs very good people skill- telling Murali that he is too old to field may motivate Murali, but that may not work with Kumble - understand them and work with them. At times he needs to be a politician, at times he needs to be tough and at other times he needs to be a mentor. I think Greg needs lots of training to become a successful coach. Clearly I can see the differences when compared to John. Indian management failed to select right coach. I had this view after the first year of his coaching.
Captain: A captain needs to be very aggressive and make members think. He can be soft and gentle outside the field. But he needs to motivate his team and keep them as a team. He has to think pro-actively and execute reactively. He is like a chief operating officer. He should fore-see the problems, and keep his solutions ready. But never execute pro-actively because you need to fix a problem only if there is a problem. Also he needs to show his aggressiveness on the field to give clear messages to the opposition and his own team. This is the difference between Sachin and Ganguly and Dravid and Ganguly (Even though I personally I think Ganguly doesn't have much to offer as a captain any more). Dravid is a very defensive captain (my observation), but he may be able to change. We got an aggressive coach and a soft captain!
Selection: Should be according to merit and playing conditions, here the said policy was only on paper. Again merit includes current form, experience, attitude and developing other players. Dileep was a star player at home. In SA he said "I don't understand why our batsmen fail consistently in bouncy tracks" (as reported by some news agencies). His averages in WI, AUS, and NZ are around 25. The reason I am bringing this case is not to humiliate him, but to question his strategy making. I think it will hard for him to fix this 'foreign track' problem because he could not find the root cause of his problem in the 15 or more years he played for India.
Compensation: Compensation to players must be strictly according to their contributions except on injuries where they should be given best available treatment because they got injured on duty and they should not be afraid on getting injured. Not only players but also coach, management, selectors and administrators should be paid on performance. It is easy to link team performance to the performance of frontline managers and administrators. This will stop the regional bias of selectors and they will start thinking to get best players. And the performance review must be at the end of each series or tournament. Everybody (including Sachin) must be given feedback to improve, average performers (players, officials) must be given opportunity to become above average and bad performers must be punished even after a successful tournament. Creativity should be encouraged, that means action that leads to failure must have a logic behind it and system must have some tolerance to such failures. When comparing apples must be compared with apples, simply means a new face cannot be compared with Sachin. Also John got 15 players to make a team, but Greg got a reasonably developed team to improve the results. Comparing their performances is very difficult. A good way to think is if the team has new problems or not and what he did to fix the old problems are still there or not. Most of the times people won%u2019t scale as the team go through different phases. Ganguly is an example, and another example is Sehwag
These are some of my management thoughts, may not be fully accurate or suite Indian team since I never had any close contact with Indian team and its managers.

Extremely Sloppy Fielding
Batsmen think that they are on the ground to hit only fours and sixes.
They dont know how to convert singles into twos and twos into three whereas Lanka and Bngldesh did exactly the same.
Lack of direction in the decisions.
No consistency on the batting order.
Overtly relying on Sehwag and Tendulkar whereas Suresh Raina and Karthick would have done a better job.
Dropping Irfan Pathan.
No self belief.
Looked bewildered on the field and zero body language.
Someone should have looked at the bowl which tendulkar tried to defend during Lanka match, coming so much out of crease whereas this bowl could have gone to boundary using a square cut shot and he gave away his wicket.
Lack of Spirit in the team.
No belief in any of the players in taking singles like Steve Waugh, Arvind D'Silva and keep the score ticking.
All together they showed us to what levels Indian team can stoop down.
As an Indian, I am not going to buy any of the products endorsed by this bunch of jokers. Lets resist ourselves from buying a cola, TV, scooters, cars, energy drinks etc etc and I will see to it that my children also dont take it.
The strategy for new team 4 batsman. Presently only one deserves the selection-Dravid. Let us pick the rest three from the performance in Ranji. (Laxman is the one who performs against quality opposition and when it matter, but the selectors made him loose confidence by dropping him for every alternate series) 1 batsman who can keep wicket -someone like dravid, gilchrist, Boucher. Slot is vacant 2 bowlers - Only Sreesanth has shown the aggression needed and he has proved himself in SA. He performed when recalled twice against AUS in crunch matches. One slot is vacant in this catogory 4 alrounders -some one like Pathan, gayle, kallis, symonds, ravi shasti, Ravi Shastri,kapil, prabhakar. In one day cricket, alrounders are the best bet. Only pathan is there in present team to be included in this and still he was in the bench.

Cries for Rahul-Chappel ouster are taking huge proportions,but I feel this is not the right time.A captain-coach combination are bound to fail at some point,so what if we are out of the world cup? There is life beyond that,nevertheless there is huge scope for drastic changes but sacking the coach and captain will not do.Don't forget Australians are the number 1 team and to emulate them we need an Australian to coach us and eun us through their strategies and fitness regime.If our players are not fit so what is Chappel's fault? He tried to groom youngsters but if they are not mentally prepared from grass root level,what is his fault? Ultimately he was given a team of losers to go into the world cup.Now for a reality check.There is no doubt in my mind that this ouster will enlighten the selectors and players to try and concentrate on mental strenghth and physical fitness.I think Sachin has had enough,we should give him a good farewell,his services to Indian cricket are well acknowledged.Now for the future.Groom players at domestic level as you would at the international level,provide them facilities and financial backing as the international players get and then see the results.Prepare them to undergo rigid training sessions and practice.Now for the current bunch,sack Dhoni&Sehwag,harbhajan,Kumble,Agarkar get in Kartik,gambhir,powar and fielding all rounders,the reulst will be there for everyone to see P.S. Ganguly deserves another go along with Pathan,but not for long,Perform OR Perish
1) Twelfth and Tenth standard students can now spend their time in preparation for the examinations and probably set their career path on track. 2) Good health for lots of Indians who would have otherwise been sleep-deprived for a couple of months. 3) People will work during office hours instead of following cricket and thereby increasing productivity. (I hope). 4) Advertisements with cricketers would come down, thank god. Aren't people bored and tired of watching them everywhere? 5) The common cricket following people would live for themselves rather than look at cash strife cricketers.
dravid shouls resig no doublt he is a class player but having lack of leadership qualities.
Make yuvraj or kaif captain remember these guys have won Youth World Cup in 2000 for us they can do better than others.
one more News i heard on news that Selectors are planning to make Sachin Tendulkar skipper of team india. It is really surprising how a person will manage whole team who is not able to manage his own inning.

I remember one of the selectors saying on AAJ TAK about agarkars selection even he is not in form, the comment was that if directors and producers are having tea, coffe and dinners frequently at you home definately you will get some role in the film. That is how he was selected. the bombay duck should be droped forever.

whats wrong with agarkar, that he doesnt dance like shreesanth or who cannot bowl great bowling in crucial matches like zaheer khan, i think we shud stop looking beyond agarkar, ajit agarkar shud play every match for india may what come, he is truly commited and a team player, no stardum and tantrum, means business and he bowled well in the world cup, if u wanna sack, sack kumble, harbhajan and bring in powar, make sachin the captain and give the youngsters to him to make a new good team, get the politics out and see india will do well, thisproblems r all because of reigionalism in cricket and nothing else...
In last WC sachin was contributed to team scored 33% of total runs won mos and bast batsman. HE WON MATCH AGAINST PAKISTAN this time being VC he failed with bat and teammates did not ditched team or captian during WC 03. Even kumble was illtreated, his bolwed to his heart for the limited oppertunity. SSO TEAM REACHED fINAL B'CUZ OF SACHIN AND OTHER PLAYERS NOT B'CUZ GANGULY'S LEADERHSHIP OR AGRESSION ganguly scored 3 100 against namibia and kenya but failed to deliver with bat in final as a captian he was not there when team required.this time team failed b'cuz some players deliberately played negative cricket and played big role in defeat to humiliate dravid and chappel. dravid has better winning odi average than any other captain.and recored of winning 18 odis even ganguly' tenure in 5 captaincy, ind won 76 odis out of 146 but 32 were against weaker team like ZIm. kenya, bangadehs and namibiz. while under dravid captaicny team won 33 odis of 64 matchs and 2 only against Zim team lost against SA and bangladesh when ganguly was captain also. ganguly promoted groupism in team. he treated team as his won property players who were good on his book were getting chance. Even laxman kumble after good performance were out of team when he was captain.
