We need two spinners in the teamas we can never rely on Indian Pacers even on juicy wickets. There is no place for Sachin ZEROdulkar, Ganguly, Sehwag etc., What the Indian board needs to do is the following: 1. Eliminate ADS for players 2. Performance based pay 3. Performance based Incentives 4. Performance based inclusion, not just in Ranji but also performance outside India. 5. Call for atleast 10 pitch experts from all over the world, pay them handsomely and change the entire pitches in the whole country 6. Invest in rejuvinating old and worn stadiums and make it all lush green, even if it is costing them a fortune! 7. Make just 4 zones for selection process and freeze upon the best 8. Invest in professionals for talent search in each of the 4 zones. 9. Call for a geniuine fielding coach, some one like a Jonty Rhodes 10. Make points for performance according to the oppostion and where they are playing, In india or Out of India.
If we can carry out all of these, only then Indian Cricket can improve!!
Friends! I do not agree that the Indian team was capable to win the World cup, Incase if they could have made the super 8 stage, every other team woukd have hammerd them, If Bermuda won the match to make them super 8 they can beaten by Ireland as well.
1. Divide the Contract Money by the no of matches played in the year.
2. Players will earn money for every match won besides the match fees.
3. No money except Match fees for any loss.
4. Every players amount of money will depend on his performance in that particular match on not on his past records.
5. Major part of the money should be paid depending on his aglity in the field.
6. Ban them from appearing in advertisements except for sponsors ads. Like Service sector employees can not do a side business similarly they should not appear in ads except Sponsors ads.
Implement the simple rule above and you will have match winners out of the same Indian Team.
Some old horses mign take to retirement on their own.
Make Agarkar captain. He will rebuild India into a strong team. Remember his 6 for 41 against Aus in Adelaide in 2003 when his career was on the line?????

He too doesnt find a place in the team...He cannot perform if the wickets do not suit him- conditional player..

i suggest harbhajan because he will ensure defeat compared to agarkar and kumble.
India undoubtedly played bad cricket. They are capable of much much better showing than what they have done. Every match in this format is very high pressure game. Every team and every member is subjected to pressure to play well and perform, but india has tons and tons of extra pressure then the other sides in the tournament. Every time inida goes to play major tournements people start performing pooja and 'Japs' and media goes there to cover those events as headlines. They dont understand that the prayers are just a gimmick to come live on TV and news. Even the peoples ire is shown when the players dont perform. Again this is gimmick to get the footage. This is definately adding up to the already high pressure that is usually associated with the tournament of this nature. Media should just cover the cricket and stop showing the rest, which is anyway not relevant. Definately the team has underperformed. But media is also to be blamed for the debacle of the teams performance. One can overcome the pressure that is there on the field and perform but the pressure of expectations is very high. Very very high.subjected to pressure to play well and perform, but india has tons and tons of extra pressure then the other sides in the tournament. I think the players do not desreve to the huge money that they are getting from all sources like Ads etc.. If they can not handle the pressure they should not play. Infact they can handle all money without pressure, they are paid for it.

Fully agree with you Pen. I live in Australia. Here they have one report in the news that Aus thrashed SA and thats it. Not 1 hour of analysing how good we played. Same when Aus lose they have one news story and thats it.
Colin Croft said that there is just way too much pressure on the Indian team (http://www.telegraphindia.com/1070326/asp/sports/story_7566127.asp). I told my wife exactly the same words on saturday night when we were analysing our defeat. The weight of expectations from the billion fans, million dollar sponsorships and shark-like media is just too much. If you watch the Ind vs SL match carefully no one was playing to their ability. Everyone was fearing defeat too much. Something has to be done about it. THe expectations wont change, we need a good psychologist perhaps. Sandy Gordon?
We require 100% allrounders for the ODI format.Atleast one, two or three will shine in batting or bowling dept, 100% failure will be rare.Even if this happens, then we can blame our luck.No specialist in any dept will work. Selection will be only on present performance, present perfect fitness, age group below 25 yrs, agility & reflexes at its peak & most important absolute no - no for Ads & Modelling during cricket contract.
We will get the best talent in our country, who will play the real game of cricket for our country & not for himself.

Yes just like New Zealand. They have no individual stars but are much better side than us.
I think now the player should leave cricket and start doing the ads, they dont know how to play cricket except acceting. It is good that they exit so early, as all the employees who are working on daily wages and salary will go on time to their respective office, and india can save lots of crore of money. Thanks to India for early exits, they all should take retirement from cricket
