Team should be selected based on the Psychology of the players. This should be the first criteria. In armed forces, this is the selection process (for Officer Cadre) bcoz what they believe is, if a person's psychology is suiatable for that job then he can improved even from scratch. They are not selected on the basis of physique in the beginning. Later they build the candidate in the cruical areas like war, disaster management etc. U can build the person according to the requirements of the game. if they r mentally strong then half of the match is won. Therefore psychological tests must be conducted to asses the suitability of the players to the game. Bcoz its no more a game now. Now Cricket is played more as a mental game. For this reason BCCI must take initiative of adopting this method and try it on the young boys (under 14). Select the players and train those who get through the tests. Its like a cricket school.

I believe we again have to look forward and do the simple thing ..bring cricket from root.
Indian board claims to be the richest board but the money lies at the top level and it is the worst board simply beacuse it does only know how to increase money but not how to increase the level of cricket. The money has been invested in high level not at school level or any proper cricket grooming schools. India can always improve business but not cricket unless the money making mind changes to cricket developing nation. Small countries like NewZealand , Srilanka focus on cricket improvement rather than money weaving machine.. Live, Play for cricket motto has change to Live Play for money based on cricket.
I don't think Indian cricket team thrown out of world cup ever before, because they were only able to defeat a team like Bermuda and disqualified in the 1st round itself. It is a BIG BIG SHAME on our face!

Don't forget the physical fitness of Sri Lanka, Bangladesh players......so fit, agile and full of fire. Bermuda team with inexperience showed they had the fire in them to improve if given the opportunities. Can we say the same of Indian Team??

the dri lankans and the bagladeshis had the will to fight, our indians were more concerned about their looks than their performance on field
India does not deserve to be in Super-8.. It played worse than Ireland. Thanks to our players who were busy in modelling. We can understand their problems.. In modelling, there are retakes. In cricket, once you get out, you are out. thats it.
So boys... welcome home.. Do some modelling assignments..
1. how about new hair-do Mr. Dhoni?
2. Sachin, try new Gillette mach-10. Its smooth like master blaster.
3. Dravid, bad luck... your warm-up games (you said it!) didnt go well. Time for u to try Nike.

When the Team India comes from the WC... we should give them an exchange offer. STOP PLAYING CRICKET AND ENTER FULL TIME MODELLING in exchange... FILM STARS SHOULD TRY OUT A HAND IN CRICKET.... May be in the next WC.. BCCI should approach Laagan XI to play for india. OR have a British girl to COACH the Team.
With so many news reports and expert opinions around, I think there is hardly anything left to discuss, speak and write about our defeat in World cup 2007.Lets put a full stop now and start looking for the new selection committee for the so called BCCI and hunt new young talent for the next World cup 2011. Let us understand why politicians are sitting at BCCI helm and not senior retired experienced cricket players of India. Lets simulate all types of cricket pitches so we are trained well in advance. Lets learn how Australia and South Africa cultivate and select their players, what exercise they do, what type of diet they take, what basic minimum physical requirements like height, Body Mass index ratio are required to represent our cricket team. It is high time to look for an Indian coach rather than foreign coach. Lets cultivate good pace bowlers, dare devil fielders and the aggressive batsmen who can hit fearlessly all around the ground with boundaries, sixers, through the gaps, take quick singles. That's what people of India want to see, we do not mind team losing sometime but loose gracefully and with fighting spirit. Lets stop infighting and discriminating players like Gujju, Bengali,Marathi. At the end of the day we are all INDIANS. Let them endorse the products but the amount must be kept in the escrow account and upon retirement the entire accumulated amount should be given to the player with interest.

useless article with an obvious attempt to divert attention from core issues viz. backbone less captaincy and thoughtless coaching. That too despite Both dravid and chappel had fairly long period more 1-2 yrs to get settled with their jobs. vengasarkar's recent outburst amply proves that captain had his fair share of independence and say in everything around the team. Both faied to deliver when they needed to.
