Ashish Nehra, Balaji, H Singh are spent forces. They should not be considered any more.
World cup debacle is no justification to replace Dravid as the captain.

Best bet for bangaldesh tour--ganguly(C), deep das Gupta(wk), saba Karim(wk backup)--anyone else--u can think about
According to me need to take some action as per below. 1)Make captain Yuvraaj Singh immediately as BCCI has dicided that captainship will not be given to Ganguly,-perhaps. Yuvi has good connections with all the players in the team incl Sachin,Dravid and Ganguly and everyone will support/advise him in a possitive way.So everywhere there will be a big chance to see the team spirit/motivation although Yuvi is a good batsman also with mnmm flaws. People those who are saying to deduct Sachin,Dravid and Ganguly,-I am sure they hv not played cricket thats why they are saying as kids. The time has not come yet that India Cricket team can be made without these three great players.A few failures can not reject the class. b)Dissmiss Chapell immediately and appoint coach either Wasim Akram or Aqib Javed so that we can produce attacking fast bowlers and also they are good to create proper team spirit. c)Selectors ratio shd be same from all the zone. In any decission making problem re. selection final decission will be taken by captain and coach. d) Captain/players/coach/every BCCI officials income/earning will be on low salary and high incentive/bonus on performance basis.
Please do not create a panic as no one will gain anything from it,and people of other countries will laugh at us.
I also request rediff and the media to create pressure on BCCI accordingly if my sggestions r logical and practical.

Just tell me when Sachin has made his last excellent contribution in a do or die match? I dont remember Saurav showed his aggression in the recent editions after his come back.( I hope u might have watched Muralidharans aggressive reactions after he caught Saurav in the last match ). Well..I want some reason y Dravid went down the order. Fine to see Akram but where came Aquip Javeed. I am relieved u didnt opted for Javeed Miandad. Except the experiments...can u pl. tell me where Chappel failed? Dont forget the Sehwags selection contraversy.( Between Rahul and Vengsarkar ). It is a claen picture that no body had a common vision to select the team for the world cup. Then y u r still blaming Chappel?

wasim akram as coach??? he is a tainted cricketer. we dont want the bookies n match fixers to enter our teams dressing room.
Now Indian Team coming back, then what will happen now? who take the responsibilty of rediculous condition in WI? Now this is time to think once again in selection process and give right treatment to the players like Sehwag,Dhoni,Harbhajan and Agarkar..now they must kicked off and Dravid should resign himself, For Chappell it is now to say Good bye..Make new coach Mohinder Amarnath and give him full power to take part in team selection and to treat the lazy and star players..so these things must be followed...any way let's watch what BCCI take action....

if full power has to be given to coach, then why not it was given to Greg Chappell
I think we must congratulate Team India for entertaining us in this world cup. They annihilated bermudans in one of the group matches..n tht was great entertainment. I am not at all disappointed with our teams perforfance in this world cup. Only those people will be disappointed who were expecting something more than wht actually we got from our team.
Did you guys really expect TEAM INDIA to play like the Aussies do (complete domination approach)..or Safs..or Kiwis or even Englishmen?!
Were u expecting our famed batting trio to bat fearlessly just as the Aussies do??
Were you expecting our team to come good whn it really matters?
Were you expecting Team India to show some grit in tight situations?
Were you really expecting the World Cup?? (laughable)
If your answer to any of the above questions is YES thn you urself are thrs something wrong with you as you had unrealistic expectations from Team India.
A brief Post Mortem
Sehwag - played well enuff to retain his place in the Indian team. a century and a near half century and a few wickets makes him a decent perfomer. his selection in the team was one of the very few things which went right for the team.
Utthapa - he aint a jayasurya or a gilchrist. i thought his name is utthapa. in tht crunch game against lankans, he wanted to fire at the lankans, just tht he was holding the barrel in the opposite direction.
Ganguly - played reasonably well. was very selfish in the game against bermudans. he mistook it to be the australian team so went abt his business in a very cautious manner. we must thank our stars tht he was out finally which let the following batsman go for 400 score (the only consolation from this world cup).
Tendulkar - a major disapointment. we wud be abusing Ricky Ponting if we compare him to Tendulkar. On current form, Ponting is miles ahead of Tendulkar. Ponting plays fearlessly n for the team. Tendulkar is forever burdened by the expectations n also is xtra cautious in big matches. Guys like Shane Warne n Brett Lee are a lot better batsmen whn batting under severe pressure. Sachin knows how to score tonnes of runs but yet to learn how to win matches consistently.
Dravid - played a good knock against the lankans before the pressure got to him.. n arrived late to collect his goodies against the bermudans. a decent performance with the bat but not very impressive as a captain.
Yuvraj Singh - easily the best player on the field. Played two good knocks in the first two matches and was all set to steer India towards the victory in the final match till tht run out happened. the best on board by a margin.
Dhoni - is no Mike Hussey. They are competing for the top slot in the ICC rankings. Thats where the competition ends. Dhoni is world renowned f

Had the senoirs(oldies) retired a couple of years ago..we would have had an experienced young side ready for the world cup.

Ponting is now going thru the same phase which tendulkar went between 1992-2002. his reflexes became slow and I think he needs a good amount of rest for 2,3 series and then he can come back, beacuse u can search with a torchlight but u will never find a replacement for sachin.
9. ramlal ka baccha from dusty grounds of village in Rajasthan
10. marandi from tribal area of jharkand
11. pinto from beach of goa
I guess all these guys and gals will be able to
revive indian cricket.
To hell with the Tendulkars and Dravids, we have the "GREAT INDIAN PUBLIC" who will stay away from ads, be honest, not corrupt and stick to playing good game of cricket.
And selector will be the local employment agency who will give a place with Rs.50000 deposit.

The issue is : why retain Rahul and Greg Chappell?? What have they done to merit one more opportunity? India have been humiliated, we have not even been able to make it to super 8, itis a disaster for Indian cricket. Rahul Dravid does not even merit a place in the Indian one day team. Chappell days should be over!!

VRV singh has been a complete failure in the chances that he has got till now and also a poor fielder. Sreesanth can go for a lot of runs in his first spell and is unpredictable. Piyush chawla is too raw to make an impact at international level. against England he was ineffective at best. Badrinath might be the surprise packet!!
RE:Retain Rahul Dravid & Greg Chappell
by bharat on Mar 26, 2007 04:26 PM Permalink
I agree that there is no real reason to change Chappel and Dravid. However, given the politics associated with India's defeat, one of the 2 has to go. In that case, Chappel should go and Dravid should continue as the captain. Every Indian, without exceptions, makes a few mistakes and unless the reason for the defeat can be explicitly identified to bad captaincy, the captain should not be changed. Clearly, this charge against Dravid cannot be proved. Besides, there is no other captaincy candidate who can hold his position in the team as a player. The question of replacing Dravid should not arise.
Else, Tendulkar should be rested for a series or two, not that we have lot of talented batsmen capable of replacing him, but because, once dropped, it will help him ease the burden of a 'legend' or a 'master'. He can play much better if people start expecting less of him. Ganguly needs to be given some more chances to to prove his form. He needs to score a big knock pretty quickly and in convincing fashion to prove that his comeback is indeed successful.
