why we lost?
by jess on Mar 25, 2007 02:56 AM  Permalink

Why we lost so badly. main thing is the indian batting is brittle. many players still do not have the ability to face genuine fast bowling. poor footworks of Sehwag, Uthappa and Dhoni are so clear to anyone who knows cricket . our wickets in India are not made to help fast bowlers ..And so we do not have really have fast bowlers of the type other countries have. And often ours have just speed no variation or flght etc and no ability to bluff the batsman. If we are famed for spinners,Why don't we have spinners like Murali? Harbhajan aftre two games could not take a wicket even aginst bangladesh.

i think the fans make the players, demi gods bec. they think our guys can win. A fluke win here and there has given them that idea. plus many think cricket is a fluke game and anyone can win anyday. It is no fluke game, you have to struggle hard to be good cricket palyer. notice australia.

And our players are exceptionally bad fielders. catches make matches.

This loss is really sad because cricket has been promoted at the expense of all other games in the country by all: politicians, business groups, financiers, and media of course.

look out
by Sajeev Dharmajan on Mar 25, 2007 02:54 AM  Permalink

its sad to see our team not showing promise, team shows senior players desperate to improve their future records and bribing the selectors with past image,no player is good if they are not playing for their country,so selectors pls select players who play for the country, players who have craving for the game but deep inside should love the country they are playing for thats missing in the present indian team,so look out

No concerete actions

All the retired cricketers - Kapil, Srikanth, More have lined up to criticize the team, selectors and Board. But reality is Indian team performance was same or worse when these guys played. Even before our team went to WI they were 5 in ICC one-day rankings so how can they the world cup? In the past few years they were loosing tournaments whenever they played outside the sub-continent. Did Australia or South Africa won only on their home pitches? If India wins in the sub continent credit should go to the stadium guys who make the pitch flat and suitable for batsmen. BCCI in their greed to sell telecast rights have made our team play more in India. The next blunder is in selecting team, the barometer is centuries for batsmen and wickets for bowlers. Do they see how confidently the batsmen attacks the bowling though he scores less than 50? This is the main reason we have less match winners but too many record holders in India. Sunil Gavaskar himself played four world cups, but was he ever a match winner? Atleast Mohinder Amarnath, Yuvaraj Singh in few matches turned the tide and made India win. But they are not super stars like Gavaskar, Sachin, Dravid or Ganguly.

leave cricket
by R. Samuel Devadoss on Mar 25, 2007 02:14 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

It's nonsence to talk about our cricket team hereafter. let's keep our intrest in some other game. all chota teams are doing well and India's future is no longer in cricket. only our precious time have lost by watching Indian cricket. I dont consider the match against Bermuda. Real champions never leave their fighting spirt like Australia, SF, etc. Dravid, Sachin, Saurav can you have the boldness to announce your retirement like Inzamam by admiting the faliure. never you all tasted our money.

ready to coach
by on Mar 25, 2007 02:10 AM  Permalink

Just like politics in India, even cricket needs somesort of overhauling.
This is my offer:
My present salary is equivalent to about Rs.3 lacs pm here in US. I would like to work for half the amount to be the coach of Indian cricket team but with condition that I should be paid what there are paying to Greg now after two years only if my team sucess rate is more than no 1 team in the world. I would return 50% of salary recieved during this two years if public feels my team is not doing as expected.
How I do it:
I am not a professional crickete and I have cricketing brain. I have a strategy to mentor a team to change their approach towards the game.
I really do not see any thing wrong with the team and it is their way palying cricket they need to change.
One more thing We can notice is that it is actually our batting is failing more often our bowling. I can not give more details than this at this time.
I hope someone listen to me and make the board aware of this offer.

I am posting again as I am not sure whether my previous one was really got posted
