how can kiran more speak?
by Abir Banerjee on Mar 25, 2007 02:45 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

this kiran more has started what today india faces, it is simply surprising how can rediff takes opinion of someone like kiran more who had actually anchored where India stands 2day. He had removed ganguly and had an unholy nexus with greg chappel, played durty politics in name of experimentation.

TENDULKAR SHOULD GRACEFULLY RETIRE FROM ALL FORMS OF CRICKET
by subramanian venkatraman iyer on Mar 25, 2007 02:41 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I FEEL TENDULKAR SHOULD GRACEFULLY REITRE FROM ALL FORMS OF CRICKET. HE IS NOT CAPABLE HANDLING BIG MATCH PRESSURE. THIS HE HAS PROVED TIME AND AGAIN. ALSO OUR BOARD BCCI SHOULD INTRODUCE NEW RULE NO PLAYER SHOULD EXCHANGE ANY ENDORSMENT FROM ANY SPONSORS. THIS IS VERY MUCH AFFECTING THEIR GAME. HENCE OUR PLAYER IS NOT CONTRIBUTING 100% IN THE MATCH. ALSO BCCI SHOULD PAY THE MATCH FEE ACCORDING TO THEIR PERFORMANCE.

Ban Products endorsed by cricketers
by on Mar 25, 2007 02:32 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Hi All Indians,

We have no control over team selection. We have no control over selection of the selectors themselves. We have no control over how many ads are made by these cricketers or the crores that they earn from them. However, we do have control over what we buy. If every true Indian decides not to buy goods endorsed by the cricketers, then organisations will have no choice but to stop asking cricketers to endorse ads. This will have 2 benefits. First, cricketers will concentrate more on cricket which is their core competency. Secondly, the prices of goods will also come down since the obscene amounts paid to the cricketers will no longer be recovered from consumers. This should be true of all sportsmen, not just cricketers. Look at Sania Mirza. She has stopped winning anything since the time she has started doing ads. On the other hand look at Leander Paes. He consistenly wins doubles tournaments and I dont remember him endorsing many ads over the years

i m not agreed. i beleive performance brings the ads and debacle takes you off the limelight. we don't buy choclate 'cos amitabh ads for it. or drink milk 'cos dhoni does so. but what we can do is to be less sensitive to cricket and take it as a game only. we got to accept that we were not capable of reaching second round with such meek performers. we should not make saching the god on his day and supprot pawar in his stride that past merit will not be considered for selction but present form and performance.

The indian cricket team should take lessons from Leander, Amirtharaj and other tennis players on patriotism. Look how they upped their game while playing davis cup whatever be their ranking in WTA.

when you are not in tune with the times, the current age, you should be careful while admonishing others. "upped" is now very much an accepted usage, whether you like it or not. Today's English is a far cry from the Victorian era. Be charitable to others before shooting your mouth off!
