EVASIVE
by Dr Shivago on Mar 25, 2007 04:52 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

The question asked to More was:
"
Don't you think the senior batsmen in Sourav Ganguly and Sachin Tendulkar let us down in this crunch match. No one took responsibility to bat through the innings?
"

He answers everything except does not mention Tendulkar anywhere. The whole blame lies on Ganguly and Tendulkar. They both did not want Dravid to succeed. The news Channel describes that Tendulkar may succeed as Captain. This is what he gets fopr scoring so many ducks and single digit scores. He should be shown the door, along with Ganguly, Agarkar, and Harbhajan.

I feel Tndulkar has become an asset risk for th Indian team. He was great when he came in to Indian team, then became good, and now worse. Its such a shame to even state that h is the best batsman in Indian team. I hope he should even find himself struggling to score double digits against any standard Indian university teams. Its best for him to join the commentator club - oh god forgot that it won't work as well due to his voice.

whom to blame?
by Patric Tauro on Mar 25, 2007 04:40 PM  Permalink

Blame the entire team and not the coach. The horse can be taken to the water but cannot be forced to drink. A bunch of " had been" cricks were put on high pedastals which they did not deserve. if not this, how else can one explain the failure of all the " greats"? See at the Australian team. If one fails, there is another to rescue. You dont see it in the Indian team.Poor Chappel. He tried to convert an horse given by the selectors into an ass!! Pity, he could not.

Where are fast bowlers in India..?
by Gaurav Srivastava on Mar 25, 2007 04:32 PM  Permalink

India doesn't seem to learn from their neighbours (Pak-SL). Look at SL. They have very good pace battery. Does India have any bowler who can bowl consistently in 140km/h region.?
Ajit Agarkar is useless. When was the last time he took 5 wkts or scored 30 runs.?
Selectors should make some tough decision. They should drop Sachin, (yes I am talking abt Tendlya), ajit, anil, harbhajan singh. This will send out strong signals that BIG names in cricket cannot take their place for granted. India might loose some matches or series but this will give valuable exp. to youngsters. Selectors need to hunt for quality fast (not medium fast) bowlers. They should also have special fielding coach.

we fail whenever there is so much hype!
by M Dobermann on Mar 25, 2007 04:31 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

We are to blame for our disappointments! What fancy slogans and tamashas & Dhateens before the match... Ads and songs & hypocritical "prayers", etc etc etc.
Just let players play their games... keep moneybags & politicians at bay, and we will have clean games, and not get delirious everytime we win or lose..
We are all sick in the head to allow this state of things to send us into such depression.
Let Sports & games be for the athletes & officials... KEEP THE BUSINESSES & POLITICIANS out out OUT OF SELECTIONS!

"KEEP THE BUSINESSES & POLITICIANS out out OUT OF SELECTIONS!"

well said. we need a more professional outfit. BCCI says they need sweeping changes in the team. i'd say conduct a tax audit on current and past bcci person. the slugfest to get those posts are incredible. the amount of money bcci has is incredible . so, just follow the money trail, and let there be more accountability.

we need bcci to build one great stadium in every state, have a world class training facility there, and im sure they'd still have more money left. so whats stopping them? why have they not done it so far ?

Sachin, the batsman
by Raghu Nair on Mar 25, 2007 04:27 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Sachin was never in a match-winning cause for India. He breaks records, adds more centuries to his kitty.

you're right in some parts. we should get away from heroes. but i dont blame sachin entirely on one hand, and on the other maybe he hs the capacity to change the style of game and make it result oriented.

Ganguly should have taken more responsibility. But what about Sachin, Dradid, Greig and last but not the least you? You big four dropped Ganguly and to your dismay after resurrection, world cup score of G is more than that of S or D.I think you have no guts to talk about dropping of S or D. It shall be beneficial for indian cricket if you stop giving your ideas.

Mr.Banerjee,

You are absolutely right. The More guy is a shameless fellow. He is the main culprit who had destroyed the Indian team. Now he is blaming the selectors who are trying hard to do the damage contol act.We should get rid of these More kind of joker. He had hardly played international cricket but he wants to write the fate of some good players. He was accused of asking for bribe to select Abhijit Kale into the Indian squad. You never know what he had during his days as selection committe chairman.Do you remeber the deal he had made with an Australian firm in which Chapple has business interest...Sou sou chuha khake billi haz ko chali....

Team India
by arup chakraborty on Mar 25, 2007 04:08 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Our "So Called Team India" has super flopped again. This is not new. After Spending Lots of money for foreign coach and physio if players can't improve their batting, bowling and specially fielding, they should quit fro their own. All sponsors and contracts should be stopped immediately. Professional attitude should be taken so that they can hard earn money if they perform. Entire existing team should be changed and a whole lot of new team should be made from India-A , B and under19 teams. Kapil Dev should return as a coach with more power, not as a puppet. Selection committe should ensure that the best lot is provided to the coatch with his satisfaction. Then only we can be Dark Horse in the next World Cup, And expect the final dream again rather to say strong contender next to next world cup.

right everywhere. just that we need to correct ourselves too. too much praise and expectation when we win and slamming them when they are down is also bad. enough hero worship. enough media hype. enough ads. let normal sane cricket be the norm.
