A Big Comparisn ( Heart Breaking Really)
by Greg Chappell on Mar 24, 2007 04:30 PM  Permalink

AUS and SA : Always go to super 8 under any circumstances.

AUS and SA: Always go till Q-final or S-final under any circumstances.

AUS,SA,NZ,ENG: The Key players always perform in the Big stage under any circumstances.

==========================================

Then why IND is so vulnarable of any ODI ?
Except some matches (including WC 2003) palyed under Ganguly in abroad, we could never able to perform.

In IND key players hardly able to deliver in the big stage.

Even when IND was down with 3 top wickets, should have been able to chase and win the 254.

Scrap the Indian Cricket
by Nitin Gupta on Mar 24, 2007 04:28 PM  Permalink

Friends i believe that we now need to say Good Bye to the Game of Cricket for some years or so atleast and start the other games like Kabaddi, Kho Kho , Hockey etc.

I hope that the money the Indian Cricket have this moment is enough for supporting other games...Since Cricket is much attached to our nation's pride that it start hurting us all and sometimes we lost belief on ourselves on the Global Level..

Why can't we start investing our Time and Money on other games which can give India a gr8 stand on a Global Level..

Example is China, US and other developed countries where the Govt. is investing a lot on the games other then the Cricket..Are these nation's are fool ?
Are their Sports ministries are failed to develop the game of Cricket due to lake of money or talent ?

We need to concentrate on other games now..otherwise we will be faced with such situations as today for decades to come ..

We should now have a public debate and Parliament should also take some concrete actions now at sports level

The Myth
by amit joshi on Mar 24, 2007 04:27 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

at last the greatest myth of last 2 dacades was shattered as fernando's boomer crashed into the woodwork.we have been very smugly telling all the world all this while that sachin is the greatest batsman in the world.we have worn out his 2 innings against australia in sharjah propping them as his defence.barring those 2 innings he has never NEVER stood up to good opposition batting second.against pakistan it was always caught sohail or someone in the cover region..against s africa he invented different ways to get holed out..against sri lanka vaas always nipped him in the bud.later, that most awkward way of getting out and posturing..ball going through the gate and he sitting on his haunches as if not able to suppress a sudden call of nature.neil fairbrother, alec stewart, gavin larson,boucher,chanderpaul...these guys have won more matches fortheir team than sachin has for his..and their names arent even taken in the same breath as his.if anybody is eligible for saying he flatters to deceive...ITS HIM.ok,maybe his skill level, and ability might have come down but he shud have made up for it through sheer grit and by the virtue of his 'experience'.. a la jaysurya or lara(i shudnt be insulting them by mentioning them alongside him).but the fact is he showed utter lack of courage, determination, sense of the fateful moment...i dare say interest and integrity.he knew that it was gonna be his last innings in the world cup if he failed..but he was completely indifferent.HE WILL BE INSULTING US IF HE DIDNT HANG HIS BOOTS NOW.HE SHUD BE GIVEN THE BOOT NOW.

Dear Sachin,
We acknowledge that you have done enough for yourself, and this country.BUT U R A FIRST SUPER DUPER DISASTER IN CRUNCH MATCHES/SITUATIONS...pls. DON"T PUT SELECTORS UNDER PRESSURE BY SAYING that u would look at WC 2011 too. They dare not drop u because of ur "past".Sincerely request that you allow someone younger to play for India...maybe start grooming ur son for WC 2019.

U will always be remembered as India's greatest batsman and u would have world class bowlers'(ur contempraries) saying that u were better "TECHNICALLY" than Lara/Ponting/Inzamam etc etc.The record books would "record" ur high averages in all forms of cricket !!!We in India, would try n forget ur (NON) performance in pressure matches/situations.All great players are supposed to RAISE their game when under pressure - sadly we have just had very few such cricketers in India-Kapil Dev was one of them - so never mind if u never performed when it mattered!!

And thnx again for all u did.Request that Rediff passes on the msg. especially those conveying our "BEST" wishes to Sachin, lest he will continue to play ONNNNNNN and ONNNNNNN and continue to embarass himself and this country.

In India no selector/ex-cricketer worth his salt can ever voice his concerns over Sachin performance let alone dropping him, but hopefully these msgs. can have a result.

Rgrds
An Indian Cricket Fan

RAM, YOU NAME IS GOOD BUT YOU WRITE RUBBISH. TELL ME WHICH YOUNGSTER IS GOOD IN INDIA TO PLAY INTERNATIONAL CRICKET. I CAN SEE ONLY ONE FROM MUMBAI ROHIT SHARMA. REST ALL ARE BULLSHIT SO HOPE AND PRAY TO YOUR GOD THAT SACHIN CONTINUES AND BEING A GREAT HE WILL COME GOOD. YOU ONLY WANT SACHIN TO PLAY WHAT ABOUT THE OTHERS.

The Indian Ocean waiting.............
by Sanjeev Das on Mar 24, 2007 04:23 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Entire Indian Team must go into the indian ocean instead of coming home to India. Hopeless players. Do not have any commitment for the nation. Just take a lesson from Bangladesh and Ireland. Our team went to west indies to set up a recored of 400 rund against Bermuda(at least good team compare to India).

Indian cricket;'s lowest point touched ever
by sumit h choudhary on Mar 24, 2007 04:23 PM  Permalink

The 'final before the final' match on the 23rd proved that indians are indeed paper tigers in blue. They performed reasonably well on the field to restrict the roaring lankan lions to 254 , but then later on completely spoilt the show by losing focus while chasing the target.
Uthappa never looked to settle in. Almost every shot he played had the ball floating in the air. Sachin has been the biggest dissapointment, and his records are just like some numbers scribbled on a paper. Ganguly just threw his wicket, a little bit of patientce at that stage could have set the platform for india.
the rest of the team dismissals are not worth writing about.
A lot has been said, tried and tested, but the end result is not the billion fans allover the world of indian cricket were expecting.Too much has been tried to be done by the coach in a short span of time, which has brought complete instability in the team, no fixed opening pair, neither fixed opening bowlers and constant shuffling did not allow the team to get into a mould and to work around as a unit.
Its allover now, so just lets accpet it that this indian team was incapable to bring our dreams to reality.
Let the boys come home, support them, afterall they represented our country , they are our ambassadors.
They need to replan and start from scratch, new ideas and new strategies have to be planned. Sachin, Dravid and Ganguly if your bodies are not able to take the pressure step down, you have been great , they diamonds of cricket, the country will always remember you, but now the country's pride is at stake so your decision can decide the future, be true to yourslef and respect the faith we have in you. Once vital decisons have been taken and the plan is set, they should forget the defeat and take an oath that every match they play form here on they will win it, atleast they will show that positive fighting attitude.
When we say harsh things its not that we want to hurt you, we are concerened about you, because we love you.
Its ok , we are with you in this time of adversity , come back and rise again , rise so high to the sky and show the world , that the tiger is wounded not dead.
Jai Hind
