That's not going to happen, let's hope they win tommorrow, if not, let the best team win the cup.
I would say it is very DIFFICULT but not IMPOSSIBLE. Indian players has a capability of beating the best teams in the world but sometimes our team chocks at the very last moment. Every HINDUSTANI wish & pray that INDIA should qualify to Super8 but it is only in the hands of 11 players. Lets hope & pray for the best.

As far as I remember from my books, there was no Sinhala in Lanka at that time, if they had been, you wouldn't have your ignominious tail.

We are just 24 hours away for the clash of the titans, from what would be an exciting game of the World Cup Group matches before Australia takes on South Africa.
India has the potential to beat any team in the world on a given day and at the same time can lose to a minnow team. I believe it is more to do with the confidence factor rather than the technique.
It was good to see Veeru among runs and also all the top guys scoring some shots against Bermuda. I hope Ganguly continues his form on Friday and I hope Robin and Dhoni saved their explosive shots for Friday.
It was our bowling, which is a major area of concern in the group matches. In the warm up games, all of us were worried about the batting, but now its back to the bowling basics. Against, Bangladesh, Zaheer did not get good rhythm as he did against South African and home series agains Windies and Lanka. Sreesanth definitely adds firepower and the motivation factor. Pathan would be good to the batting line up, but he is lacking confidence in his bowling. I definitely don't want to see Agarkar opening the bowling again and we need Munaf in the middle overs and break crucial partnerships. Kumble should be lone specialist slow bowler.
If India wins the toss, they should bat first and score atleast 285 . Who knows, batting second would be questionable when D/L method comes into effect. If we bowl first, they should be motivated with the performance against Windies in the warm-up game.
Let us pray that India scores max runs and get the big man Sanath and the top order for some cheap runs.
All the best to team India - there are over a billion people supporting you all over the world. We all want good cricket from you and hope to see you play next saturday too.
whatever indians do plz make sure you field well - coz indian balling is weak - n at the most enjoy ur game like australians do and show some aggression on the field - srilankan balling is to good to score 300 n above for indians so realistically india batting second can chase only around 260 if they bat xtremely good or batting first they have to scroe around 280 - 290
I guess india will loose the match and SRL and BD will be in super 8's

SriLanka can never dream of winning another world cup in their history. Bcoz McGrath and company who fondly remember the SriLankans as black monkeys (just recall how Muralitharan/Jayasuriya etal look) will not allow the monkeys to touch the cup which would get stained by their dirty black hands. My take is this. India can win tom if we do this
a. Come tom. to play with a psoitive body language (Definitely not the case against BD and Ber)
b. If win toss, get ready to bat (yes, even with swinging ball). MJ's track record on winning toss (Bats 90% of the times)....
c. Plan, prepare and have a flexible batting order. What does this mean?
- I suspect Uthappa may not be in for these kind of pitches (Just a sense, am not sure ), i would replace him with Dinesh (ya, I am not dropping VS, even though I hate him so much)
- Dinesh and SCG open the innings
- If the start is OK (4 rpo in 10 overs without loss of wickets), I will send MSD at 1 down
- If the start is not OK (losing one wicket quickly, I will send RD at 1 down)
- If things go solidly, I will continue with MSD followed by YS and then so on
- If things worsen in the first 15 overs, I will quickly change strategy. Instead of sending my main stream batsmen , I will send in Sreesanth (Risky, but instead of agarkar or AGarkar if RD retains him) and Zaheer after the loss of 3 quick wickets - mandate, try scoring 10 runs each in 3-4 overs each...no smashing around
- Apart from this- Here is my objective for each individual batsmen
- DK/ SCG- Target: 30 Runs each in 45 balls each (60 in 15 overs)
- MSD/ YS- 30 runs each in 30 balls each (60 in 10 overs)
-RD/SRT/VS- 30 runs each in 35 balls (90 in 18 overs)
- One of the above batsman then extends to score 75 in 85 balls.....
Net net score : 255 in 48 overs (approx)....Add another 20 in 2 overs...Total target 275.....
