miles to go.......

Nothing to boast about. So what we have won with record margin against Bermuda, the population of which is not more than 66000.
Real tests lie ahead.

it is not anything to do with population dear. Remember what china could not achieve, has been acheived by Bermuda by qualifying to play in cricket wc. so the teams getting chance to play WC are arguably good teams.

Useless Stats!!
by Zulfiqar Dholkawala on Mar 20, 2007 02:07 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

India can make records against Minnows like BERMUDA only!! They have proved again and again in WORLD cricketing history by giving hopes to our nation and failing to perform at crunch time! How can we say that we have HEROES and All time LEGENDS in INDIAN team? What kind of legends these are? Do they deserve respect they get from our nation and our fellow countrymen? Why they are getting so much importance?

Its worth saying that our so called legends, heroes and tigers are on PAPER only!! They cannot compete against BEST sides!

I have seen in recents article posts people abusing PAK for their shocking defeat against IRELAND and Blaming PAK for BOB WOOLMER's death..we INDIANs are only good in abusiing people rather than looking at our own PLAYERS..one day we make them GOD and next day we hate them like they are DEVILs. Its really shocking!!

Churchill rightly said during INDIA's independence that INDIA is not a COUNTRY its a MOB.

We deserve what we got from BANGALDESH in our first WC match!

Lets now hope and pray that INDIA play at their real potential and win convincingly against SL and restore some lost pride!

yes i completely agree with you, they should not be called by these names such as master blaster, the wall, nawab of multan, etc by calling them by these name it gives them ego and pride and in order to maintain their pride they become overconfident and don't perform when actually we need them to perform. it is easier to tie a belt to dog but difficult to take out food from the lion's mouth.bermuda and srilanka r two different teams u cannot rate them at same level only divine help can save india and make them reach super eight round

Nice question Mr. Swaroop,
I am playing cricket in IRL for Limerick Cricket Club as a amatuer player. I captained University of Limerick Cricket Club for Irish Intervarsity Championship first time in the history of University champoinship in 33 yrs.

I captained Limerick Cricket Club team to Munster Cup and League victories in 13 yrs which is new record. By acheiving this I became first NON-Irish NON-WHITE captain to do it in their history. I have 100% winning record as a captain so far.

Also, I played for Irish Universities Team against ENG, WALES, SCOTLAND last year in Belfasat where we stood 2nd after ENGLAND.

You can check all my record on www.limerickcricketclub.com as well as on www.cricketireland.com

Can you tell me what you have done with PLASTIC BALL??

Dont throw rubbish on anyone!! To be honest I can coach our Team without taking any money from BCCI!!

What zulfiqar says makes a lot of sense- or, shd i say, common sense! There is no scope for further dispute. Let's be objective in our assessment and not be carried away by emotions. Test of the pudding lies in its taste and in nothing else!

You are right.
Once I wrote to such fella to have a couple of rounds to cricket ground running.

Then throw cricket ball 10 times for 44 yards distance.

Then come again next morning. If some body can do that again. Then come and discuss cricket. 0.001 % will nod be able to do that on first day itself.

And they write big things on cricket. That is our India and its fans.....

India vs Bermuda
by rajesh prajapati on Mar 20, 2007 02:02 PM  Permalink

Congratulations to the Indian team for their mammoth total against Bermuda. While it is true that Bermuda is just a babe in the international world of cricket, the Indian batsmen still had to hit out to score the runs!

What is worrying that none of the Indian bowlers looked like match winners against Bermuda - they went thru' the motions and took almost 40 overs to get the Bermuda team out with D Hemp scoring an unbeaten 76. From here onwards, India is going to face tougher and tougher opposition if it progresses further and hence the bowling dept. needs to be strengthened even at the cost of a batsman or two. It is time we made place for Sreesanth and Irfan in place of Robin and Agarkar with no disrespect meant to both of them. This would strengthen the bowling trememndously without affecting the batting much.

No way to rejoice
by Muhammed Zafar on Mar 20, 2007 02:01 PM  Permalink

There is no way to rejoice the win against Bermuda in the world cup qualifiers for the Super Eight. The performance against Bangladesh was pathetic. Also we should remember that Bangladesh is not a quality team. I wonder what will happen against a quality team like Sri Lanka. Surely it will be a tough match for the Indians and I hope against hope that the Indians perform. Virender Sehwag should have to be dropped even after his performance against Bermuda. Let us all pray for the best.

Yeah, India should plan to play against Bermuda every year now, so that they can break more records. Why not instroduce a new country like Somalia or something? Then they can cross a score of 600!

WE SHOULD NOT UNDER ESTIMATE MEN IN BLUE TO THAT EXTENT, AFTER ALL PLAYING IN WC OR ANY OTHER ODI IT IS JUST A MATTER OF RIGHT COMBINATION OF PLAYERS, RIGHT TIME, AND THE RIGHT FORM. IF ALL THESE A TEAM HAS THEN NO COUNTRY IN THE WORLD CAN BEAT THAT TEAM.

there is no point in comparing records this will not do anything for getting world cup.ofcourse india batted pretty well but we have to keep the momentum going till the end of the world cup, that is what all about, you people have to show what you are capable of against srilankan's and prove the worth.there is no point in adding agakar in the 11.why not try irfan pathan he will perform as a batsmen and bowler.give sree one more chance.the thing is we have to enter super 8,here after no excuses "come on we can make it"

Wait and watch
by R .Sitaram on Mar 20, 2007 01:47 PM  Permalink

This innings against Bermuda will ease some tension in the dressing room but we will have to WAIT AND WATCH what happens against Srilanka. Definitely it won't be as easy as it was against Bermuda. Still India is in a situation to be kicked out of the world cup. So, fans, don't start celebrating yet. WAIT AND WATCH ! ! !
