This was the most shocking news of 2007. Incidentally, a couple of days back (early March 2007) there was a question on Bob Woolmer on India's most popular game show - "Kaun Banega Crorepati", through which I learnt that he was born in my home town, Kanpur.
Today I felt very bad that we lost such a wonderful cricketere, excellent coach and on top of all, a good human being.
It is a great loss. May his soul rest in peace and may God give strength to his family members!
To neo roy who adised Greg Chappel to kill himself if we fail. As stated in you earlier message I would like to rouse the rest of the rediff commmunity and in abhorring and casting out this so called human being. He is vile scum not worthy of being pissed on if he was on fire. When a person who has no drop of asian blood (greg chappel, bob woolmer, john wirght), decide to put their sincere efforts in helping a country attain joy through cricketing sucess the last thing needed is shriveling worms like this fool called Neo Roy to pass such offencive comments. He should be ashamed and all of his like minded kin. This symtomatic mindset is what needs hanging not great people who attempt to help us.

A coach is after all a guide only. He can never enter the field to play, right?. The eleven member team should play well. That's all, without a trace of carrying their personal glory, high headedness which were manifest in Ravi Shastri and Sunil Gavaskar in their days. These two players seldom played for their country. They always played for their personal triumph or at the best they played for Bombay.
He was the guy who brought laptop computers to the Cricket dressing room, and made SA the potent force they are now. Such a sad end to a guy who was overall immensly suuccessful as a coach. Just goes to show that Cricket in subcotinent is much more than a siple game. Amen
This is shocking news about Bobs death,I met Bob in Hyderabad 1996 when he was the coach of touring south africa,really he was a perfect gentlemen,pakis are unlucky guys who didnt use Bobs talent infact some players misbehaved with him,its really shame on those players.Bob you will remember as one of the best coach of cricket.
