Thank you for crossing the narrow man-made national boundaries and taking up the job of coaching in the subcontinent.

death of bob woolmer - a lesson for us
by surya rao on Mar 19, 2007 11:17 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

No doubt Bob Woolmer was a coach par excellence and we all mourn his untimely death.Whatever be the actual reason for his death, the fact remains that in cricket crazy countries like India and Pakistan,we put enormous pressure on our team and its coach to perform like super heroes, forgetting that they are also human beings and are bound to fail at times. For us it becomes a matter of life and death,we start burning effigies and start criticising all and sundry.Lets remember that at the end of the day, cricket is just a sport, let us stop saying that in india CRICKET IS A RELIGION.What has anyone gained after putting so much of pressure on our teams, india has lost to Bangladesh and have become the laughing stock and Pakistan, they are out of the world cup, worst of all,Bob Woolmer's family has lost their most important member.Wake up guys. There are more important things in life.

Its not only the cricket crazy fans but the media ,looking for a glamour, and the corporates, which invests hell of money on them , want to take back double the amnt from the crazy people.

Will they change their attitude, atleast now after seeing one of the greaest ever coach die due to the stress, to play the caricket as a game...not as gamble

Wake up guys we have lot more to do for our nation
