AS A YOUNGMAN I FELT HAPPY TO SEE BOB PLAYING STELLER ROLE IN ENGLISH MIDDLE ORDER AGAINST MIGHTY W.I. AND AUSTRALIA.A BUNCH OF EGOISTIC AND TALENTED PAKISTANI CRICKETERS TOOK HIS LIFE. THE BEST SERVICE PAKISTAN CAN DO IS BY RESERVING THEIR COACH POST PERMANENTLY TO BOB AND ALWAYS APPOINT ONLY ASSISTANT COACH.ITS TRUE TO OUR EASTREN TRADITIONS. BOB WE LOVE YOU. YOUR BATTING WAS AS BEAUTIFUL AS YOUR SELF.
ICC World Cup 2007 would remain etched in publice memory for a long time to come, no thanks to the untimely passing away of one of cricket's greatest coaches, Bob Woolmer. This should serve as a wake up call to the publice in general and the media in particular to treat cricket as nothing more than an unpredictable game. Over hype by the media leads to irrational expectations among the largely ignorant public in the sub continent. The constant media glare places immense pressure on the players, captain and coach in particular. One may never know what caused the sad and shocking demise of Bob Woolmer, but one can only hope and pray that such a distressing incident does not happen in the field of any sport. On behalf of the Indian people, I convey my heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family. Rest in peace, Bob Woolmer.
We will always remembr Bob for his contribution to the World of Cricket. It was him only who never gave up and did everything what best he can offer to this world. South Africa, Pakistan, England, ICC will always find his place empty as no one can fill this loss. May his soul rest in peace...
I was shell shocked on his death. This only explains how much stressed players & authorities are.Media particularly in INDIA should be BANNED from amking day-t-day,ball-t-ball, and bull shit analysis of players. They should not give so much coverage to Cricket. This will definitely take pressure off the players & motivate them perform well.BULL_SHIT MEDIA has made the life of CRICketers miserable and they are not performing under stress.May Allah B happy with Woolmer.
dear followers of cricket, when will you all allow cricket to be just another sport, when will you allow players to be just sportspersons, when will MEDIA learn to be just one. all of us are taking things too far. this is not WAR, it is just a game played with the competitive spirit and all comes down to life's beautiful lessons of averages and not of losing and winning. it is a shame that people cannot take the civilized behaviour into account while just appreciating the game of cricket.
May his soul rest in peace. I pray that this is a lesson to people not to take the game so seriously but be sportsmanlike and charitable whether in victory or defeat. Bob's death makes one wonder whether World Cup should be abolished because mafia and emotions are very much involved and so the fun in the game is gone.
I am feeling terribly sad. Real cause of his death is yet to be established, but it is clear that it has to do with the pressure of failure and backlash expected from cricket crazy public. Media and commercial interests are driving the craze to un-reasonable limits and win or lose is being associated with country%u2019s pride. All those who really love the game should understand that after all it is a game and should take win or lose with equal measure. I enjoy cricket and want our team to win, but I strongly condemn the acts of burning effigies, throwing on stones at cricketers%u2019 house because we lost one game. It is easy to sit in the comfortable our houses, eating snacks and downing colas and to comment. We need to give support to our team particularly when they are down and not to burden them with un-necessary pressures.
