"John, nothing end with hapy note...I didnt one with south africa..."
These are the words said by Bob Woolmer to John Wright after 2003 final loss to India. Hardly one one would have expect this words turn to be so bitter true for him.
He is the man responsible for taking the coachin a level higher. The coaching analysis, the different techniques in coaching and the important of fielding in ODI are few things where he played an important contribution.
The modern cricket owe him a lot. But the man who had given almost everything to cricket more than 100%, in return so little. Hansie cronje saga, then 1999 World cup exist after a tie for south africa , then humilation by shoib akhtar ( spat on teh field) and an early exist from WC after lossin to Ireland. Definatly he desrev none of this taking into acount his dedication and enthus toward cricket.
India loss to bangladesh or Pakistan's early exist arent shocked me so much as this news. May be I cant follow the world cup further with my full passion.
He has an Indian geographical root coincidently. One of the greates coach ever born in Kanpur in 14th May 1948.
His loss will leave a void in the cricket world.
My Condolence to his family and may his soul rest in peace.
I was shocked when I read the news on rediff. May his soul rest in peace. His contribution to cricketing world have been immense because of which he will always be remembered all around the world.
I was shocked and I am still shocked. I first read the news that he was unconscious from the Cricinfo commentator during the ongoing Canada vs Eng match. I couldn't believe that this happened and he was in the hospital. I switched on my TV to hear the worst. And that he was in critical condition and his chances of survival was extremely low. I was deeply saddened to hear this and just about half an hour later...I hear the inevitable... "Bob Woolmer is dead". Shocking and tragic. We all need to pray for him. My heartfelt condolences to his entire family. May his soul rest in peace. I don't know why...I am so moved by his death...I don't even know him that well..and I was reading some of his articles yesterday and his reactions after Pak lost to Ireland. Its so saddening...as arbind said...it felt that someone close to me had passed away. Let this be a lesson to all the cricket fans in the world. Please please don't take these games to your heart. If India loses..doesn't matter..its not the end of the world. What's more important is that today, today you are alive and in this world. Live your life like there is no tomorrow and thank God for giving you this life. The World Cup atmosphere has been greatly affected and there should definitely be atleast a day's mourning. Bob was a great coach, cricketer and more important a genuinely good human being. God bless Bob and his family. Peace to this world.

and everything will be ok for Pakistani team, nothing will happen now, like Ijmam will retain his captaincy and career because of Bob Death
First of all it is a very shocking news that Bob Woolmer is no more. May God give strength to his family and loved ones, to bear the shock of this untimely death of such a great person. To all the people (that includes all the news agencies) please do not come to any conclusions until an investigation has been done and the cause of his death has been confirmed. It is very disrespectful to spread the rumours about a person who is no longer in this world. Only a medical autopsy will confirm the cause of his death, until then please hold your horses. Also my deepest condolences and sympathies to Late Bob Woolmer's family, friends and last but not the least to the Pakistani Cricket Team.
May his sould rest in peace. His contribution to crickiting world have been immense because of which he will always be remembered all around the world.
I was working on my laptop when I saw this news on the rediff msg board, I thought it was a joke by some fool on rediff. I switched on the TV and was shocked, it was disbelief and horror. I prayed that may be there is some misinformation, may be Bob is just unconscious and is in hospital... but is still alive.... I hoped and prayed that let this news be wrong... Bob was no one to me ... I never knew him.... but something within my heart made me feel sick because of the tragic circumstances under which he died... I hoped that I am having a bad dream... that it is not a reality... but alas when all the TV channels confirmed it there was no room for disbelief... I felt as if some one close to my heart has passed away... My heart goes out to his family... I can't even imagine what they are feeling specially about the terrible circumstances of his death.

The timing of his death clearly pints the pressure that man was under. Clearly, a huge huge loss to cricket world but it goes on to show the thin line between passion and obsession.
