i wouldnt be surprised he passed away because of the pressure and strss he was under
goes to show how obsessed we asians are about this game. all of us are at home, ready to burning effigies of our players and vandalising their houses if they dont do well. i wonder how much of us would be able to stand tall and deliver under that sort of pressure.
its only a game. any big team can lose to a small team. and now because we lack this common sense, one of the game's most passionate contibutors has died.
the bad part about this is people will go soft on teams.. indian and paki teams will be let off by public because everyone is already saying... "it is just a game".. that brings us to a damning conclusion.. isn;t it possible that one of the paki fundie player murdered him so that this news overshadows their miserable performance.. afterall, india and pakistan ought to win WC given the popularity this sport has.. australia has population of mumbai and is good in dozen other sports!! so guys , it looks like a simple case of murder to me.. mix a little drug in his late night coffee. typical ISI work
It is very sad but the way Bob died has clearly proved the enormous pressure he had! We all shud learn that everyone takes their jobs very seriously and its applicable to Our Indian Team too. People who all are cursing Indian team for yesrterday's defeat should learn from this unfortunate demise of Bob. Stop complaining and keep supporting Men In Blue!
"John, nothing end with hapy note...I didnt one with south africa..."
These are the words said by Bob Woolmer to John Wright after 2003 final loss to India. Hardly one one would have expect this words turn to be so bitter true for him.
He is the man responsible for taking the coachin a level higher. The coaching analysis, the different techniques in coaching and the important of fielding in ODI are few things where he played an important contribution.
The modern cricket owe him a lot. But the man who had given almost everything to cricket more than 100%, in return so little. Hansie cronje saga, then 1999 World cup exist after a tie for south africa , then humilation by shoib akhtar ( spat on teh field) and an early exist from WC after lossin to Ireland. Definatly he desrev none of this taking into acount his dedication and enthus toward cricket.
India loss to bangladesh or Pakistan's early exist arent shocked me so much as this news. May be I cant follow the world cup further with my full passion.
He has an Indian geographical root coincidently. One of the greates coach ever born in Kanpur in 14th May 1948.
His loss will leave a void in the cricket world.
My Condolence to his family and may his soul rest in peace.
