indian cricket
by ananth nipani on Mar 19, 2007 04:59 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Is the Indian cricket an extension of the national character? Lack of discipline, commitment, will to excel etc. etc. Just dump the fellas and should not feel they exist. All the sponsors should withdraw the ads where cricketers appear. The otherday Bangladesh played superbly. Give them the cricket due to them.

indian cricket
by mandeep aneja on Mar 19, 2007 04:38 PM  Permalink

this "achievement" in history of indian cricket is due to trio(dravid, chappel, sehwag)while thanks also should be given to kiran more, raj singh dungarpur, etc. they are mindless dumbs who hardly think.when chappell was brought it was thought that he will free indian cricket from favourism.but he has done otherwise.he outsed sourav and kept on trusting non performers like sehwag.harbhajan.it is the high time that sourav is raised to capt. and yuvi as his deputy.people like ramesh powar(....and not sharad powar!!!!!!!!!!!),kaif,c. pujara, raidu, nehra, balaji need to be given chances.
as far as attacking homes and burning effigies are concerned this is shameful, just think what india was when it won in 1983 and defeated lyods w(b)est indians??????
also bcci should include players instead of politicians and sandeep patil needs to coach team.most imp selectors should not pick team from'zones'and mode of selection should be

Improve domestic cricket system to avoid big stage defeat
by Anurag Shrivastava on Mar 19, 2007 04:38 PM  Permalink

Look at the way Australians approach their cricket. Noone in Australia is bigger than Country..They never hesitate to put bigger names like Waugh brothers when they at their peak but their non performance at top level declined place in One day squad. Same should be applicable for Indian players like Sehwag, Sachin, Dhoni etc. They should be asked to play domestic cricket & perform to get their berth in National team & should be banned from doing any commercials for next 2 years.

no captain can inspire this above 32 team - we needed young talent wo can rush for singles, stop runs - this is where the australian are so good, when the pitch is behaving badly they always run thier singles - you cannot expect the same from GANGULY, SEHVAG - not a keen runner, they are boundry hitters,
Its seems that the current Indian team will save us from waiking in the night and watching the matches - we should prepare for a grand welcome for the current Indian Team.
Its better we learn from Australia - where very good and established players have to fight to save their places and just not get branded that they are match winners - even if they have not performed since the last 1.5 years

5-wicket collapse
by Shanker Shetty on Mar 19, 2007 03:42 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

It was pathetic to see India losing to a lesser known team. i would imagine people watching the match by scrificing their sleep on that day... but is it worth losing the sleep?

the biggest blunder would be to chosing batting first rather than fileding inspite of winning toss. when you know they defeated newzeland you had a signal there and then. i do not think in this world up.. batting first will help you to win.
anyways, i hope they will fight back to regain the lost confident and become the contenders for the world cup. but need some minor changes. if you go by the track record it is engouh for anyone to see who is in form and who is not. so accordingly one should plan a tean rather than going by past records. u must bring in some young players who are in great form rather than depending on established players compltely. Shewag is one such case here.. how many more chances are you going to him.. when luck is not in his favor..

Sir
If the team plays badly there is always a decision to blame - but the situation has been the same if Bangladesh have won the toss and elected to field, India should have to be better prepared to bat and bowl in any condition if it thinks it could even go to the semi-finals let alone the desire to win

Very correct, its time the people above 32 say good bye and let fresh talent come into the one day side, they may save there faces in the Test Mactches but not in Onedayers, The reality is that the teams like Australia, South Africa and Newzealand are playing the game at a very different level than the rest of the world and that day Bangladesh also was well above the level of India

India's plans of winning WC
by rishikesh mayee on Mar 19, 2007 03:19 PM  Permalink

Before thinking of beating the mighty Aussies, India needs to ponder on the very fact that they shall get the opportunity to play against the Aussies in the WC. It's a shame that our fate is decided by match between B'desh and Bermuda.......
