I would like to keep the No. 3 position flexible. If India lose an early wicket (within the 1st 10 overs) or if the ball is doing a bit, I would prefer Dravid coming in at No. 3 instead of Tendulkar. If we get off to a decent start and the pitch is good for batting, then send Tendulkar in at No. 3.

On your Team, May be we can bring in Agarkar for Kumble, given that he bowled decent in last year or so and he was good in last carebian tour. Also we have Tendulkar, Yuvraj to add to Bajji's spin, thats my thought.....
Speaking sensibly, sehwag needs to be dropped. If Sehwag is in, who does he replace? The in-form Uthappa. Now let me tell you something. It is not right to sit out a batsman who is firing on all cylinders. Doing this does not help his mental make up and psyche. Play them when they are performing. Now, Pathan even if he doesnt come good with the ball (mind you, worse come worse, he wont take wickets. but his bowling at the same time will not be appalling) will come good with the bat. He is a vital cog for us in the lower middle order and there is no point in dropping him. Now, I personally would prefer Kumble instead of Bhajji because, by including Pathan our batting line up has extended that little bit plus, Harbajan needs to take wickets in case Pathan does not fire. Now, lately Harbajan doesnt seem to be taking too many wickets. Its just safer to bank on experience in this case and no doubt the wicket will suit him.
My team : ganguly, uthappa, dravid, tendulkar, yuvraj, dhoni, pathan, agarkar, kumble, zaheer, patel.
For the game against Bermuda, sit out Tendulkar and get Sehwag in. He might find his touch there, if he is needed that badly in the team to play Sri Lanka.
Since the wickets are slower Sehwag can be good bowler and also we need to give him some batting practice. We need to make a formidable score, above 325 to give our batsmen some confidence in the later games so the selection of more batsmen. I selected Agarkar as he can also bat as well as bowl.

Thats more like a good team. I agree with you reasoning of slower pitches. But on a funnier note, with the amount of pace irfan pathan is delivering the balls, we should consider him as a the spinner :)
I would give a last chance to Shewag. He is a solid player and has a good track record. Agreed, he is out of form, but I think we should give him a chance against Bangladesh. If he doesnt click, we can always go back to Uthappa for the next game. And in the bowling we should try Yuvraj and may be Shewag or Sachin depending on the wicket conditions. Having some alternate bowling options would be very helpful in the future games.
Irfan still needs some net practice. He is bolwing around 70MPH (close to a faster one from Kumble) which says his confidence level is too low. Sreesanth is bowling right on the seam on the pratice matches at 85MPH.. This is what we need... a man with a positive attitude. Shewag is the black horse.. the day he stands for an 1 hr on the wicket the match is done and with a weaker team like bangladesh he is bound to make runs. 5th bowler would be saurav and sachin..

'i like ur team.. but' i would like to see a bowler replace sehwag (we can try him against bermuda, if he can get some runs he'll gain some confidence, and if he doesnt make runs, we know he needs to sit out the whole WC and go play ranji to get back among runs. no more gambles in the team against quality oppositions) the bowler i think should be either pathan or agarkar.
if u are playing 3 fast bowlers, there is no sense playing pathan..on these pitches sehwag is a better allrounder than pathan.... if u wanna play pathan, then play 2 fast bowlers and play both bhaji and kumble...going with 4 fasty bowlers is not a good idea at all
RE:why play 4 fast bowlers on these pitches?

the pitch is slow DOES NOT mean that we shouldnt select 4 pacers. actually it would be a plus cuz the ball would stop on the batsmen and there is a GREAT chance of them offering unintentional catches. we have the same problem with our pitch and it always has the batsmen fail against pacers. spinners should be selected over pacers on flat or turning surfaces. PACERS have had more success getting wickets and keeping things tight in this WC so far. just compare the pacers against the spinners in all of the matches so far and u'll see what im talking about. i hate to see even experts saying spinners have a huge role to play in this cup. franklin, bond, and oram kept things tight for NZ, vettori went for 50 without ANY wickets. also medium pacer styris had more success econ rate & wicket-wise than offbreaker jeetan patel in the same game. SO i say 4 pacers and 1 quality spinner is the way to go. if u look at india 5 pacers might not be a bad idea either, i mean we have sachin and yuvraj to handle some spin if needed. KUMBLE can be lethal in these conditions though. he can get the ball to bounce often and he could be very unpredictable on slow pitches. he is a rather pacey spinner, thats why he could be so effective here. Also sreesanth and munaf have that special ability to make batsmen play more so than even zaheer. but i think zaheer and munaf should open the bowling and sreesanth should come in third with the 4th pacer (agarkar or pathan) to join him in the attack. munaf should be preserved for the slog overs if wickets are hard to come by, he is a good closer though he is kinda susceptible to pressure at times. sreesanth has also done better at the end more so than agarkar. i dont know why people are so hyped about agarkar now. his deliveries look rather ordinary and he doesnt have enough penetration in his bowling. SO my team (listed by batting order) Ganguly Uthappa Dravid Sachin Yuvraj Dhoni Pathan/Agarkar Kumble/Bhajji Zaheer Sreesanth Munaf

who ever is the author, i agree with him 200%, we need to make sure Pathan gets into the bowling form which makes India very very string team, as per Shehavag, i am not sure even if you give another 50 chances he is reliable in 51st match .... so i really do not like to prefer him over Pathan.
