This is the good rating system... In super-eights it will better...Only thing not being considered in this rating is 1. Not-outs, as far as cricket is concerned Jacques kallis carrying his bat through should be given some extra points 2. If a team loses only 3 wickets, The number 6 batsmen may not get a chance to show his worth.
Its solution could be some extra points could be given to each player based on its batting position for being not-out like Opener may get 10 points extra for remaining not-out 1st down, 9 extra points and No. 11 batsmen, 1 extra point, if he remains not-out
How do you calculate their ratings I mean Jeremy Bray, made century on his debut game in world cup. He carried the bat through the innings. he made more than 50% of runs made by his team that day. He needs to be at the top of the list.

keep watching it daily. this stat is quite usefull.. updated daily till the end of the tournament.
Ricky Ponting will come below the list when Indian starts playing, specially DADA(Saurav Ganguly).DADA se takkar lenevala aaj tak paida nahi hua, na hoga, HAHAHA
this is simple rubbish...here you cannot tell against which team you performed better...for example if you perform good against bermuda and bad against australia...you can still be a valuable player...but this is not the condition in the real life...simple rubbish!!!
Look at the 2 payers at 109 and 110 places in the long list of players. Though both of them bowled 18 balls, player 109 has conceeded more runs than player 110, but still ranked higher. Player 109 has scored less runs than player 110, but still ranked higher.

it is not inconsistent ranking system. it is that u are not able enough to understand it. The ranmking system is based on the total points in the last column. The last column is based on all the batting, bowling, fileding, catches, stumping performance. Based on a formula, the total is arrived. The data is PERFECT. Rediff is the best.

I agree. Leave your observation aside. Just look at the player ranked 88. He neither scored runs nor bowled. Still he is ranked 88! SO you participate in a game. Do not bowl and do not bat. There is very high chance that you may still end up in top 10!

World Cup has jus started and all the teams are yet to play atleast one match. Its very early to talk on MVP. Might be after first round it will make sense.

u check for it late. no body compelled u to conclude the player. It is only a tracker which will get updated daily. so on daily basis, u can have a feel of the MVP.
