How Islamic inventors changed the world
by Abdul Azeez on Mar 15, 2007 03:03 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

How Islamic inventors changed the world

Algorithms and much of the theory of trigonometry came from the Muslim world.

Algebra was named after al-Khwarizmi's book, Al-Jabr wa-al-Muqabilah, much of whose contents are still in use!

The work of Muslim maths scholars was imported into Europe 300 years later by the Italian mathematician Fibonacci.

And Al-Kindi's discovery of frequency analysis rendered all the codes of the ancient world soluble and created the basis of modern cryptology.

The modern cheque comes from the Arabic saqq, a written vow to pay for goods when they were delivered, to avoid money having to be transported across dangerous terrain.

In the 9th century, a Muslim businessman could cash a cheque in China drawn on his bank in Baghdad.

y do u muslims always try to poke ur nose in everything with ur past. Did u know that Mohammed Ghazni raided India 7 times and looted all the golds and diamonds. 7 times!!!!!!!! even amidst of that, India still has so much gold. So shut up and stop talking this muslim nonsense.

actually all the above mathematics formulas were given by Varaha Mihira, the ancient hindu vedic pundit/astologer/mathematician. Pl. refer to Late B.N.Raman's writings on the mathematical findings of Varaha Mihira

I dont know why something is called "Islamic" invention or "Hindu" or "Christian" invention. Most of the things mentioned by Azees sab are scientific inventions which have nothing to do with islam. Just as CV Raman's discovery of Raman Effect has nothing to do with Hinduism and Einstein's Relativity Theory has nothing to do with Jewish religion. Let us not bring religion into everything. Let us instead behave as humans and brothers first.

listen people, let not turn into stupid animals and talking nonsense. talk about cricket and keep things civil.

lastly, boseji and gandhi were not inventors.

muslims have contributed many things throughout history, remember there were islamic empire in every continent except north america. there were many big islamic empires and they have done many great things. poets, medicine and many other things.

Indias pet "Sweep-Trap" theory for Graham Gooch, Gatting and the rest of the england team during the 1987 semifinal trapped and swept us out of the tournament..

Ravi shastri comes to bowl.... Gooch sweeps...
The commentators could have recorded this line and replayed it continuously.. there was no need for anyother comments !!!

Ravi Shastry is an idiot. Becoz of him we lost that match. He is good enough only to give commentary and not to play.
