Please mention that the issue is regarding cricket. YOu are making us click misleading headers. Who knows who is Roberts and what 1975 are you talking about.

You were probably still not born at that time. Otherwise you will not ask who is "Roberts". Go ask some elderly cricket fan you know.

Maybe this guy thought it was Julia Roberts who was recalling her escape from the hands of ISI of pakistan. Who knows maybe they wanted Ms Roberts to infiltrate the White house. The moron!!!

I am surprised at your remarks. When I read the headline I could instantly recall the great Andy Roberts and the world cup of 1975. You are perhaps a casual follower of cricket. People who follow cricket closely (even if they are very young), will have no difficulty in associating and I am sure the headline is NOT misleading.

In 1975 Robert Hunter led the Greenpeace expedition against the Soviet Whaling fleet
1975 Viet War Ends. How many Roberts involved in it ?
Between India and Pak, The Samjhauta Express made its maiden journey on September 22, 1975.
Indian Emergency in 1975
How many Roberts?
When a heading is a misnomer, it remains so. A picture is never complete without its frame. I meant no offences.

If you know you are reading an article on cricket and you read the name Roberts and on top of all there is a clear photograph of the person, a normal cricket fan will have no confusion at all.
My friend, I am afraid you need a complete revamp.

Idiot, if this were to be some other issue other than Cricket or Sports in general, why the hell would it be published in the Sports section. All the other things that you have mentioned about war etc will not be featured in Sports section. What? You thought war like Indo - Pak or Vietnam is Sport or what ??

Then the headline would be "Robert recalls the great escape..." and not "Roberts recalls the great escape...". Note the "s" in the name.
But I agree anyway. Although I could figure it out, many would definitely wonder what it is about. Rediff editors are not really known for their intelligence.

i agree with other replies. roberts photo and 1975 relates to cricket. a passionate follower like me would probably rate roberts fifty against india at the eden gardens in 1983, when they were tottering. he stood by clive lloyd, took a massive lead (which looked improbable at one point of time and then marshall demolished india.

u cANT COMPARE THE WIDIES OF 70S AND 80S WITH THE CURRENT AUSSIES.THE CURRENT ONES ARE WINNERS NO DOUBT;BUT THEY PLAY WITH THIER FOUL MOUTHS AS MUCH AS THEY USE THE BAT AND BALL(both on and off the field)THE AUSSIES HAVE ALWAYS BEHAVED LIKE MORONS AND MANAGED TO REMAIN PUNISHMENT FREE.THE ONLY ONE WHO GOT WAT HE DESERVED FOR HIS ARROGANCE IS THE AUSSIE UMPIRE WHO HAS BEEN BANNED FROM OFFICICATING IN INTERNATIONAL MATCHES.(and they just cannot digest it!!!!!)

"Inzamam-ul-Haq, Younis Khan, Danish Kaneria, Kamran Akmal, Mohammad Sami, Mohammad Yousuf" They r keeping the consistency, but in the side of Windees only Chandarpaul and Sarwan only have it. So i am sure Pak will win in clear margin.

In any match which Pak is playing against anyone (other than India), I support Pak because they are our erstwhile brothers and our political quarrel is like a quarrel between brothers and not to become hatred. I hope and pray Pak will win every match (except against India) and pray for an India Vs Pak final. Needless to say India will win.

Too late to have one. I am a patriotic Indian and a Hindu and a supporter of the Indian cricket team. But I do not think it is my duty to hate Pakistan. I repeat that Indians and Pakistanis fought British imperialism shoulder to shoulder without any differences on account of religion, etc. The British succeeded in their divide-and-rule policy and we are blindly following it even today. I have no friend (girl or boy) in Pakistan, but I insist that the differences between India and Pakistan are like quarrels between brothers. Let us not allow third parties to gain on account of our mutual hatred. I repeat: I pray for India Vs Pakistan final and want India to win. But I do NOT hate Pakistan
