Last world cup Sehwag was in full flow before world cup but he failed and sachin was down but sachin exceled in world cup .. so u never know but its hard to beleive sehwag will do any wonders but if he does it will be fun to watch. I just feel world has found out ways to tackle sachin and sehwag as they have too many limitations and other thing is they never learn from past mistakes. eg. sehwag always tries to hit in initial overs and gets our, sachin always nicks ball out side the off stump and gets out..they just dont understand..but i would really want sehwag to perform as its lovely to watch him in action. I am from India but I just want Pakistan or Australia to win the world cup..

Tendulkar has no weakness like you predicted man.You are such an idiot Australia and Pakistan will definitley go out in the super Eight series.
Pakistan has lot of weakness and will be squished.
Australia are already beaten black and blue and injured australians can never fight back(Injured tigers(India) are dangerous but not kangaroos)
The Four Teams that will make the semifinal are
India,New-zealand,SouthAfrica and England
India if they can hold their nerves then can go on to win the world cup

HINDUSTAAN KE SIWA KOI NAHI JEETEGA...WHO EVER YOU ARE... YOU HAVE NOT PREDICTED CORRECT....ANYWAYS, Cricket is a game, you can't predict a single ball, a single run, a single wicket and also WIN. So stop doing that boy...
i dont think so,,,,,,,,,i am watching past 3 years,,,i dont find any specific improvement in his technic ,,,,he only depends on his eyesight and timing and which eventually he lost that gift.....cricket is the game of brains and aBUNDANCE TALENT,,,,,not jus slogging,,,i saw lara inzy, ponting ,flintoff, kevin, roaring on their days,,,and also i saw sehwag doing that,,,,,but every time he bats i feel that he is goin to get out very nex ball ...

if he doesn't have the technic he would not have scored tripple century in tests, which a technically perfect batsmen like mr.gavaskar was not able to achieve in his career nor any other great indian players.when everybody was struggling in seaming newzealand pitch he is the one who scored 2 centuries.last time when india toured west indies he missed century by just 4 runs(2 times).so he is undoubtedly most talented aggressive batsmen.he is mentally bogged down by media criticism, but i am sure he will be the star in this world cup!mr.more is right!

His technique is fine. But what about the consistency? Hs average is merely 31. But consider one fact that he hasn't scored a century in his last 56 innings. He has no footwork at all. He absolutely has no clue about staying on the wicket. So after being in Indian team for last 5-6 years, we expect maturity from him.

ganguly is useless for ODI.
With VVS (VERY VERY SLOW) Ganguly in team if he clicks and consume one third balls of Indian Innings. That too in power play. We can Not score more than 240 runs.
Strike rate 73 multyply by 300 balls is 219 score. This means other have to score more than 100 strike rate to score more than 280 runs.
May be if other 200 balls available people have to score at strike rate of more than 105 just to reach 290 score.
So we can safely conclude If Ganguly scores we are likely to loose against Major team.

He sets the platform for quick fire innings' from other batsmen. It's easier to score 20 from 20 balls than 44 from 60. Batting is all about partnerships and Ganguly and Dravid should be the main stays while other bat around them. Besides, I doubt there's been a more destructive batsmen in the death than Ganguly since Viv Richards. Ask SL what happened at Taunton. Is there a cleaner striker of the ball than Ganguly in flow?

The big difference between the team that lost to Windies 4-1 and then miserably to all teams coming in Champions Trophy and then the current team is Ganguly.
ODI cricket is not all about strike rate. As an opener, you have to maintain one end and prevent top order collapse. If other openers like Uthappa, Sachin or Sehwag hit form, we can have a big score straightaway.
But if we lose them early, people like Ganguly and Dravid have to consolidate the middle innings and then allow enough space for the middle order like Yuvi and Dhoni to use the slog overs.
Evar since his comeback, Ganguly has done well against all teams, be it SA, SL or WI and so he is our premier batter on form.
His Strike rate is 73 because he played a lot of Cricket as second fiddle to Sachin and had to shoulder the responsibility of keeping his end intact.
Also, the strikerates of batsmen were not as high during the early days of Ganguly's career. It is only over past 5 - 6 years that we are seeing big totals and regular big chases.
So Dear ifear pacemen, You may fear pacemen; but not Ganguly. If he were to be afraid, he would have chosen not to play again. And that to make a comeback in South Africa of all places. He may have somewhat faulty technique. But his commitment, determination and courage can't be questioned. In fact he is the Bravest Indian Cricketer ever.
So instead of being a pussy cat and keeping on purring nonsense about Ganguly, try to play the game yourself. Try facing some club level medium pacers from Gujarath and then come back and write. I am sure your fingers will be so bruised, you'll need assistance to type out an apology to Saurav Ganguly, undoubtedly one of India's All Time Greats and the Greatest Indian Captain to-date.

Indian Team should try their basic opening pair, Sachin - Ganguly. Because both can hit the ball, and play according to the conditions. There is no point in having Sehewag in the team. Uthappa seems promising. But you never know when he will trun in to another Sehewag.
I think given the type of pitches in WI, we have plenty of all rounders, but for them to be effective in this world cup each one should take responsibility and fire at the right time.
