Not so much match practice
by Harinder Toor on Mar 10, 2007 12:11 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Well I guess good bowling performance by the bowlers took away the chance from our batsmen to spend sometime in the middle. However, its good because the batting lineup seems confident. But its the bowling department which needs some of these wonderful performances to get more confidence bowling on the pitches in the WI. These slow pitches need the right line and length to be bowled. I am not utterly concerned about Pathan as he is starting to regain his lost touch. The LBW for Samuels was a delivery he would bowl at his best. Just need a bit more control with the line and length. Well done. 9/10 for the bowlers. Sehwag yet another disappointment.

usually if we needed 11 runs from last 33 balls it is a luxury.

Now India needs 11 runs from 34 OVERS, WOW!!!!

Relax Phani,

This is a warm up game. West Indies is exhibiting it's hospitality.

The fun starts when the real matches begin!

E-Razor

May be I suck!!

But that's nothing compared to the way the Indian team is going to suck at the World Cup's real "hot" matches!!

Warm up matches don't count!

On the other hand, when the team really sucks, you can say at least the won the warm up matches! Ha Ha

I love your built-in defence mechanisms. This is how the Indian players thrive!!

I had a dream shortwhile ago. I was seeing India - west Indies in world Cup final. The west Indians were out for 185. Indins made the runs with loss of three wickets. i saw Rahul score a lovely four to give us the cup as a gift. The loud cheeing woke me up.

Well said Hiten!!
-----
To The Indian Cricket (gilli-danda) team:

Boys,

Stick to the plan as always.

Win a couple of interesting matches. Lose the crucial ones dramatically!

Remember, crores and crores of Indian fans have to be fooled (you can sample their messages here), so make it look authentic.

Also, never forget you are the Indian team, no matter what the outcome your fans will continue to love you ...... this love is not only blind, it is deaf and dumb too.

So enjoy your vacation in the Caribbean. Get a lot of rest. Do not worry about Cricket, it is like an Indian government job ..... sub kuch chalta hain!!

Do not stay out in the Sun for too long it may affect your ability to act dejected for the photographs taken at the airport by the Indian press when you return.

Jai Hind!!!!

When all of the teams have gone in with 5 member squad what made india to go in with a 13 member squad ??

i am not counting Shewag and Kumble

Dear anirban mazumdar,

Your statement on sehwag may be accepted. But dont write off Kumble. By seeing the condition of slow pitches in west indies, it seems that experienced spinners may have major role to play in this world cup.

But I have a doubt, why u left out Harbhajjan in your list. Whether he made a 100 run or 5 wickets haul recently? Oh! i think u are from punjab or his relative or friend.

Anyway, i still feel Harbhajjan alongwith Kumble do well in these slow pitches.

I thought u r talking of Pathan. This is Kumble's last call and he deserves a place for his committment over the years. There was only another spinner Ramesh Power who could have replaced Harbachan not Kumble. Then Sehwag. He is a destructive batsman and can be thrown as a surprise weapon in big stage. Who could have been a replacement? Kaif-who has forgotten how to bat, Raina- a so-called talented guy who keeps his talent under hiding . You can not afford to take Badrinath and then dump him which neither does any good to him nor to Indian cricket.
