Team names for the Super Eight stage are indicative based on the top two teams from the Group Stage qualifying. If these two teams do qualify they will be seeded in position 1 or 2 as specified regardless of whether they finish first or second in their group. For example, if South Africa wins Group A and Australia comes second, for the purposes of the Super Eights, South Africa will still be A2 and Australia will be A1. If, for example, Scotland qualifies instead of Australia, Scotland will become A1
You haven't mentioned the 'Scotland' part What is written on the ICC site is not wrong

That is just a dumb guy writing some bull shit. Read this to understand what B1, B2...means: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/low/cricket/6310307.stm
go through this link and tell the meaning of lines "if South Africa wins Group A and Australia comes second, for the purposes of the Super Eights, South Africa will still be A2 and Australia will be A1. If, for example, Scotland qualifies instead of Australia, Scotland will become A1" How it could b possible. i'm not getting. dont you think so it's wrong statement.
In the last 4 world cup Sachin has palyed againest pakistan he has contributed really well and india have won all the 4.
His scores are 1992:55* runs ( bagged man of the match) 1996:25 runs ( opening the innings ) 1999:42 runs ( opening the innings ) 2003:98 runs (in 75 balls )everyone knows about this innings one of the all time best bagging yet another man of the match award.
I think the following teams are group leaders for going into Super 8s of this World Cup.
Group A : 1. South Africa ; 2. Australia Group B : 1. India ; 2. Sri Lanka Group C : 1. New Zealand ; 2. England Group D : 1. West Indies ; 2. Pakistan
ICC Message - Team names for the Super Eight stage are indicative based on the top two teams from the Group Stage qualifying. In that case why all teams need to play League matches? What is the outcome of performance if India, England, South Africa, West Indies won all the matches?
From the beginning, ICC is insulting India by rating least ranks? Even for Players also.
Surprise England is better than India as per ICC rating? England won only 4 matches in VB series, they lost completely against SL, lost series in India!
I feel ICC is only for White people not for performers.

maharajan don't feel that bad. Note that A1, A2 etc, are not the rankinging. They are just lables.
At the league mages stage, they put the teams as per ICC rankings of "draw day" several months back. And super 8 stage, the kept the same lables, they never mean that India never win all the matches Also they never mean that bangladesh does reach the super 8th.
If bangladesh reaches super 8, it will get the lable of srilanka (B1) or India (B2) which ever leaves tournament.
Read ICC rules clearly. I accept it is bit confusion. But their main intention is to laydown whole scedule including super 8, so that they can scedule big matches on week-end and make more money out of TV/sponsership. Best example is with these labling they decided India pakistan match on Sunday and can sell the broadcasting right for big money. If india pak match comes on weekday, they don't get that much of money.
