Following up on this "dazzling" headline on rediff, I did some of my own research - The Super 8's are not decided and even 1 and 2 in each group depends on who wins the group and who doesnt. Source: World Cup Website and WIkepedia - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2007_Cricket_World_Cup#Tournament_Format
Its ridiculous that rediff would write such an untrue story as ICC fixing Super 8's beforehand and Rediff deserves some serious suing from ICC.

Its looking you have't gone through whole article. Even I felt that same way, "what nonsense rediff is talking". Read it completely understand completely (bunch of grammatical, spelling mistake which are common on any rediff articles). You will figure out that ICC is nonsense. Last para including underlined sentense are directly copied from ICC website.
The numbers A1 , A2 , B1 ,B2 , so on.. mean the position of the teams according the to end of the group stages. If the Indian team wins all the group matches , it becomes "B1" therefore will not be playing pakistan on your given date of april 15th. Your news is , sadly though...utterly illogical and fake. Taking an educated guess... this was done knowingly to create hype and controversy for your wesite which in turn lead to revenue. Stop doing this.

Know your facts dude. Why don't you do some research instead of posting garbage?
The A1, A2...etc are decided on the seeding of teams as on 2006. Only thing undecided is who qualify for super 8. Once they do, it is 2006 May seeding that decide A1, A2 etc, not their group standing.
Team names for the Super Eight stage are indicative based on the top two teams from the Group Stage qualifying. If these two teams do qualify they will be seeded in position 1 or 2 as specified regardless of whether they finish first or second in their group. For example, if South Africa wins Group A and Australia comes second, for the purposes of the Super Eights, South Africa will still be A2 and Australia will be A1. If, for example, Scotland qualifies instead of Australia, Scotland will become A1
What breaking news! Dont write this sort of silly stuff even a kid knows it...why r u wasting time in writing this bloody article and even if u wrote...rediff doesn't know what to put on the web and what not...bullshit
and by the way every team of super 8 will play each other and will carry the point against the other group member in super 8 so it dont matter which team is 1st or which team is 2nd dont you read the rules before writing articles?
Tell us something that we don't know! what breaking news..this has been evident from the time schedule been setup and you have realized it now! What a lame article.
