read it clearly and understand clearly. Those ranking are not rediff rankings. ICC gave such positioning. Just an hour back ICC has updated their website. Still you can archieved version here
Boss. According to you, upsets never happen in world cup games. And, if that is the case, then look up the stats of world cup games. Kenya beats w/i in 96, bangladesh beats pak in 99, kenya reaching semis in 2003. And the biggest of all, India winning 83 world cup being minnows.
Moreover, considering ur assumptions, how can u even think of India loosing to Srilanka after the last series. get ur stats right and analyse them properly.
Rediff.com people, I strongly advise you to take off this article NOW. It's completely illogical. Fallacies can be generated from anything! Its good to expect that the game could be on april 1 or 15, both sundays, but let's keep it an expectation. This isn't breaking news. It's stupid news. great job rinaldo dsouza. Most of the rediff readers don't even understand what rediff is trying to say. People are thinking those are rediff rankings. How to tell every body that this is a mess created by ICC and rediff is explaining us what the mess is!

You first try to get a proper understanding of the article, I wanted to use 'moron' but am not.
ALL MY REDIFF MEMBERS, THIS IS TRUE. BELEIVE IT OR NOT. THIS WORLD CUP HAS NEW RULES AND REGULATIONS.
SEE HOW THIS WORKS:- Team A1 A2 B1 B2 C1 C2 D1 D2
The fixtures (below) for the Super 8 league relate to A1 being the first seed in group A, A2 the second, B1 the first in group B etc, as the expected qualifiers from each group. It does not refer to the actual league placings from round one.
If these two teams do qualify they will be seeded in position 1 or 2 as specified regardless of whether they finish first or second in their group. For example, if South Africa wins Group A and Australia comes second, for the purposes of the Super Eights, South Africa will still be A2 and Australia will be A1.
If these two teams do not qualify from their group they will be replaced in their indicative position by the team that qualifies instead of them. For example, if Scotland qualifies instead of Australia, Scotland will become A1.

I dont think u understood wut I was askin. All I want 2 know is wut is the rule if both teams i.e. Assuming A1 and A2 both lose all their games, then which minnow team becomes A1 and which team becomes A2. Do they then decide by points? Coz if 1 senior team gets knocked out, the minnow takes its position. Wut happens when both seniors get knocked out.

It seems to me that you people have not noticed the rank beside the team name. all the teams will be arranged in that order only, top ranking team top of the table and low ranking team finishing second wheather its seeded or non seeded team like new comer Bermuda, Ireland etc.
