why the cry on sachin
by Sri Atluru on Apr 29, 2007 01:04 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

great statistics by everyone...

why only sachin... why did everyone of 11 players fail in all 21 matches...

and by the way, i did do something on cricinfo as u suggested...

tendulkar played 36 finals (out of a career of 384 matches until now) till now at an average of 47.96 (career average 44.05) with 4 hundreds and 9 fifties as well as 17 wickets.

ponting played 38 finals ( out of just 280) at an average of 41.93 (less than career average of 43.03) with 2 hundreds and 7 fifties

gilchrist 31 finals ( out of 268) at average of 39.79 ( career 36.00) with 3 tons and 5 fifties.

lara a9 (of 299) with an average of 28.16 (career 40.48) with 1 ton and 2 fifties.

grow up guys... tendulkar gives the most of all players everytime... or atleast till a couple of years back... the reason why he is unable to win matches is because he plays with 10 other fools and plays for a nation of 1 billion people who derive more pleasure in flaking their heroes.

agreed...sachin had not played such a good knock as gilchrists of late and may never play again... but i will tell you of one that is probably the best ODI innings in history...

the 142 at sharjah against australia...

that innings was such beauty... just for the way sachin batted... pure class... not power like a gilchrist, hayden or dhoni...

forget the man of matches, man of series... that was the only time in history of ODI that an award of 20,000 pounds was announced even before sachin was out for him providing the best entertainment in the history of the game...

Sorry mate the best one day knocks were Ponting in the 03 final and Gilchrist in the 07 final. Making a statement in the World Cup Finals when it really matters as opposed to some pidly tournament in Sharjah. There is no comparison.

for all of australias hattrick... remember none of their players came with a player of a tournament till this edition.

they played as a team and won as a team.

see india.

sachin performance is directly related to india's performance.

1996 - sachin blasts 523 - india goes to semis

1999 - around 250 runs - india gets back after super sixes

2003 - blasts 673 - goes into finals

2007 - only 60 runs - return after first legs.

what are the others doing... the 10 remaining idiots are the ones who should be sacked...

Sachin is the problem in the Indian team. As Greg Chappel put it the other day "I dont know why Sachin is still playing; obviously not for making the team win or score runs" May be for product endorsement. Take some clue from McGrath and retire gracefully before Sachin is kicked out from the team

Sri,

AZHAR never allowed Sachin to get credit for what he did. Azhar called shots. The reason why Sachin was always asked to open was

1) He played well in opening slot.
2) Azhar, Jadeja, Mongia and many more who were not caught in match fixing could change the match once Sachin got caught.

Sachin player 12 years or some under Azhar. Azhar has played 334 one day internationals.

1)How many were fixed?
2) How many were those where Sachin played well but AZHAR FIXED THEM ALL?

I am not trying to save Sachin. But atleast make Sachin's fans and followers realize and fight for him. They do not know the real reasons.

why Sachin never got credit?

Yeah Man!
Thats what exactly I mean. He is there for creating (Personal)Records. Tell me in how many Finals did he lead India to Victory out of 36 he Played???
See Gilli, even at 98 and 149, he tried to go for massive hits, the first one led him to Century and of course the second was a failure. I am sure that all centuries that you have listed by Aussies have made their Team lift the Cup.(I didnt verify any records for saying this)
Sachin used to defend when he just crosses 90.He used to utilize 20 to 30 valuable balls (in Final !!) for getting 10 runs required for Century. If he had not done that, the results could have been more fruitful.
Okay no doubt about that.He is one of the greatest batsmen around the world right now.Even people who watch him closely (Players of Australia & other teams) themselves admitted that he is Great. But what we cry for is that he never led India into a Final Victory except that Famous One in Sharjah against Aussies. Sachin thus has remained as a (selfish) player who plays for his (Personal) records.

quality wise SA are on par with Aus...but they seem to hve this mental block which prevents them from winning against the aussies.....the aussies play as if they own the cup,own the ground, own the world...thats probably why they win.....at least that kind of an attitude psyches the opposition....but full credit to them.

The Most Disgusting World Cup
by gaurav pandit on Apr 29, 2007 12:49 PM  Permalink

It was certainly the most disgusting World Cup to be ever Played. It is a Shame that the World Cup ended like this. Cricket is the Biggest loser in all this. ICC is the most disgusting sports body all over the world. It was acomedy of errors in the end. It was worse then what had happened in Shrjah some 20 years back atleast now they have a system to prevent it but they still allowed to be made amockery of Cricket. In the end WestIndies is the worst place to have such a prestigious to be held at. they lack in everything Pitches, Infrastruture. It was damnm expensive . Thank god its finally over. Now wait for 2011

Boring World Cup
by Shiju CJ on Apr 29, 2007 12:48 PM  Permalink

2007 World Cup is one of the boring world cup of all time. Its not only because India were out in the 1st round. No team, expect Aus, played well in the tournament. There were no Nail biting finish matches. Aus winning was expected from the 1st round. I am sure, like me, many didnt enjoy the World Cup

Tendulkar : I have played 17 years of cricket and given my heart and soul for country?
Public: You did not played it for free. Cricket has given you everything, but did you gave us a single world cup? or won a test series in australia or africa? And stop bugging about 17 years... You only played cricket for 10 years, after that you did businesses by opening restaurants, signing 200$ crore contract, touring world with your wife shamelessly, eating vada pav and growing like a fat pig.... dumber

Ganguly: I want to play this world cup? Still there is zeal and fire left in me?
Public? Yes, there is zeal and fire in you, but only in fighting with chappel and roaming with nagma

Zaheer Khan: I am looking at my best and got my rythm and bowling quick with lot of effort?
Public Yes you are very quick, and fast but not in bowling but in chasing isha sherwani. you are putting all your effort there.. flirter

Harbhajan I will try to put my hand up and deliver in the world cup?
Public: Harbhajan do you remember, when did you bowled well outside India and won a match for India Go and do adds and earn money

Sehwag: I was just waiting for one inning and it was due for a long time. Thanks it came here
Public Yes you only play once in 50 matches, then secure your place in the team and flops in rest of 49 innings... So happy for a century against Bermuda. Also keep your chamchagiri to dravid

Dhoni: I scored 183 runs against sri lanka and top scorer in south african series
public You idiot jhipde baal waale baba, what is the use of scroing 183 against sri lanka in dead pitched in india, Did yuu score well in big tournaments like champions trophy or world cup. This is the actual stage and not in dead pitches in India. Also u were top scorer in south africa? what was your top score? 45 0r 55? it was top because indian team was not scoring more than 100 in the series together

Agarkar: He never make comments
Public: Ms Agarkar, you don't look like a fast bowler, when you run and bowl,.. it looks that you are a TB (Tuberculosis) patient or it looks u have come out of sleep and bowling... Aisa mara huaa aur thakaa huaa fast bowler kahaa milengaa

Yuvraj: I am injured and want to make my presence in world cup
Public: Don't play kho kho, and do military training advised by chappell. you should play hu tu tu or kabbadi with kima sharma on your honeymoon

Pathan... Be happy with your south african (mem) girlfriend.... and settle there.. don't want people like u in India

And last but not the least....... the architech of India's debacle in the world cup...... my rahul dependable dravid

Dravid:: Ek din, sansui waale mere ghar par aye aur bole.. hamari team ka captaan banoge
Public Bangaye captaan aur karli manmaani..... most hated man in india now... chamcha of chappel, and dumchalaa of niranjan shah

Dravid: Wile doing experiment, we might win and we might loose...... but main focus is world cup
Public: Wow what an experiment, we were knocked by bangladesh who were knocked by irenald.... wow .. guru....... kaun kehtaa hair dusham ki kami hair... And now is fighting hard to raise the advertisement quota.. most pathetic person

Tendulkar: I have played 17 years of cricket and given my heart and soul for country?

GOD: Yes my son you did indeed!
But you and I know that you played 12 years under and in company of biggest match fixers and traitors of India, Mohammed Azharruddin.

Every time you did good for the country it was upto to the later batsman the likes of Ajay Jadeja, Azharruddin and also bowlers who could all have involved in match fixing.

And they are not the only ones. There are many others involved.

The last five years have been tough for you. Injuries finally have let you down.

And finally there was this Pied Piper from Australia who had a plot of destroying the combination of team. BCCI followed and believe him like the rats who followed Pied Piper.

Son you are special and will always be! The traitors will burn in hell.

Remember there are one billion people in india and there are many Sachins among them. If you pave the way, the others will show up; otherwise you will worship people Sachin and spoil the sports.

Mr. Buckner its your turn now.......
by ajay srivastava on Apr 29, 2007 12:43 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

This world cup is a witness of worst class umpiring. It is really difficult to understand why does Umpires favours a team or rather furious of a team. The Umpires in this tournament have not played their part honestly, they delivered under pressure as per their whims and fancies??????? Whenever there was an appeal from teams like Australia they bent towards the bowler but in other case the benefit of doubt was given to batsman. Its is really a matter of shame for apex bodies like ICC that the learned council members are still not paying any attention for improving umpire quality. Where are Umpires like venkataraghvan or Dickey Bird or ......... ? If their is a scarcity of qualified and quality Umpires, why should someone else suffer because of other person's incompetency ? In a tournament like World Cup where evry thing is on stake can we afford to tolerate nonsense?
ICC, please decide now .... where to go and how to go .

Steve Bucknor is a part of the match fixing syndicate. There are many such matches where he has also turned results of entire match.

Ashok De Silva of Sri Lanka was another one involved in match fixing.

Count the number of decisions that have gone against Tendulkar and Saurav Ganguly in crucial matches.

Jago India!
