why australia
by Praveen pandit on Apr 29, 2007 04:55 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

can some one change the fate of cricket, its really getting boring that australia is winning always, isn't no team in the world can beat australia, why Indians are so shady in cricket and there game plan, anyway australia deserve this world cup not only this but the coming world cups also until the rest of the cricket world learn there basic lesson.

While I agree with on and Abhinav. One more thing I think Australia play to win at any cost like true professionals like NFL/NBA. They study the opponents, their strength and weakness and play to a plan.

I bet they have a motivational speaker to prep them up before each game too. Once even Alan Border came out with a helmet microphone with instructions coming from the coach in the stadium. The opposite team objected.

As Ricky Ponting suggested, the game is increasingly being dominated by power, over technique. I think today's game was a preview of it. While Gilchrist managed to clear the fence all over the ground with ease, Jayasurya and Sangakara couldn't do it. I think the difference was power/raw physical strength (unless there is a more scientific explanation such as outfield moisture due to weather etc.)

If this trend continues, I can see the writing on the wall, especially for Indian cricketers who grow up on aloo paratha and samosa or rice and sambhar :)

You can survive by power OR technique. A team like India, unfortunately has neither power nor technique. Add to that a lack of fitness.

Watch the local cricket matches played in Australia. I had a chance of watching one of them in 2005(New South Wales vs South Australia ) and trust me ,it was better than any of the watches played in this world cup.

Aussies won the CUP 4 Times
by Raman on Apr 29, 2007 04:49 AM  Permalink

Most Indian Journalists or Non Aussies for that matter conveniently forget to mention that Aussies are winning the CUP for the Fourth time, yea it is the first time that a Team Wins it for 3 times consecutively but still a mention of 4 time winners would be more appropriate for the All time great team Aussies, people still talk about Imrans Cornered Tigers win and Kapils Devils win but when it comes to Aussies for some reason the recent wins are the only ones mentioned.
Sunil Gavaskar tried his best to distract the world of Aussie Greatness in the beginning of the tournament by his cheap shots tactics but fell flat cause of our teams performance, though he wont admit it.
Time to congratulate Aussies, not all records are meant to be broken and most of their records like the 20 odd wins straight in WCUPS will never be beaten.

Yup.It wasnt fair to Srilanka. But Aussies deserved it.Just let it go.I know its tough, as I am no fan of the Aussies.Accept that Aussies are tough to beat as Jayawardene did gracefully.

Can I ask politely what he would have done differently? would he have scored faster?Would he have been the best bowler of India? Would he have put up a better performance in fielding?

Mate can't you stay away from your pathetic Indian team and talk about what Australia has achieved. Ganguly couldn't win a chook raffle even if bought all the tickets. Time to acknowledge Australia and leave the continual Indian post mortem alone.

saurav always ran away (hurt) from tough matches. he is a coward. He was only orally tough. he also introduced politics to Indian cricket.
