No BrettLee, No Shane Warne Yet they won the Cup. That is Australia. They dont need stars to win. Itz the hunger in them to win makes da difference. They are thirsty & hungry for a win. Sheer Fighters. One or the Other delivers when it matters unlike Indian sheeps. Ur the mightiest team of this era. Keep it Up.
Inspite of the funny end, there were some great moments in the final match 1. Gilchrist's 2 sixers straight down the line 2. Sangakkara's brilliant sportsmanship in singalling that the catch was not completed and the wicket had not fallen 3. Glenn McGrath being hit for sixes and fours 4. The brilliant four by Silva off a full toss, swept down the fine leg area 5. Clarke bowling out Jayasuriya 6. Jayasuria's strong hits contrasted by Sangakkara's graceful stroke play when he got goisg finally 7. Seeing Mathew Hayden really trying to find his form in the crucail match and conceding the ground to Adam Gilchrist 8. The ICC lost another great PR opportunity when they had Sir Gary Sobers standing mute in the presentation stage, without inviting him to say a word or give away a medal or trophy.
Well the Cup chase is over and it is poetic that the people who won the chase were having it themselves all the time.
Australia won Worldcup. Congrats to Aussies, but we have to appreciate the Lankans also, they too performed very well. May be they lost the match due to dim light. Anyway, compared to India and Pakistan Srilanka has done a very good job.

We appreciate the way Indians played and lost. Thanks to the performaces by Sachin, they got out of the tournament before facing us. We were really scared of breaking our winning streak.

I wonder if any of our Indian demi-gods were watching the way Gilchrist and the entire Australian had done their preparations and were handling and mauling the Muralis and the Malinga and the Vass's.This is the way to go about winning major tournaments and palying the strong nations.
But,I guess,we would be expecting too much from these good-for-nothings.

Why waste time by watching gilchrist.. that time can be used for Pepsi, coke.. and earn some more lakhs.. and talk to the press that my coach is questioning my attitude..

Whatever you and me and all of us say anywhere.Whatever type of language we use;we will get reported for abuse---but our Indian cricketers willl never feel ashamed,or learn,or improve. They are too thick-skinned.
Jayawardene showed his inexperience yesterday...when jayasurya(he was playing very well) gotout the picth had completely deterioated ..it was difficult to play spinners and pace bowlers too... as there was no bounce in the wicket left...Weather seemed bad too...He should had called off fot the day..He made a very big mistake and paid the price for it..instead of waiting for the umpires he should have headed for pavilion as the conditions were very testing..

no need to conduct W/C Cricket every 4 years ,bcause it is so expensive and time consuming excercise.Just announce a function by icc and give the world cup to the then Austaralian captain . The other teams can conduct for 2,3,4 positions respectively

yes even that of Greg Chappel, who succesfully destroyed Indian team from within, while the whole country applauded him and cursed their own heroes.
