Dravid's inferiority complex is destroying Indian team. But you don't worry Sachin
by dil on Apr 25, 2007 10:43 AM  Permalink

Dravid feels his captaincy is in danger all the time. He initially felt Ganguly could take over from him, so he kicked out Ganguly. Now he felt Tendulkar could become captain too, so he kicks him out too.

He does not stand up to the team when Chappell questions the integrity and attitude of senior players. Tendulkar has to speak for the team. What a selfish captain!

What a loser this guy Dravid is? Time will come when he will be kicked out as soon as Sehwag or Yuvraj becomes captain.

Morale of story: You play politics, and you will be booted by politics.

by nikhil pakale on Apr 25, 2007 10:41 AM  Permalink

Hi Sachin!
wish you many many happy returns of the day.
i strongly believe in you..
i know that theres still lot of cricket left in you and this is not the way i look forward to you to retire...
the best way to retire from Indian cricket would be getting back the World Cup 2011 to India... and that would be possible only if you stay back and play well. Hope that moment comes one day ... and prove to everyone that why you are the Best Batsman in the world after Sir Don Bradman...
Also wish you luck for the same ... :)

Belated Happy Birthday to you
by RashmiRanjan Patra on Apr 25, 2007 10:35 AM  Permalink

Happy birthday to you...
It is sad that he is not part of thone day team.
But I am sure he will be back soon.
As per me, even Dravid was required to be rested for the Bangladesh series to test the real character of our bench strength.
By resting Dravid, they could have tested Rohit Sharma from Mumbai.
Anyways, the treatment given to Sachin was not fair.It looked like he was dropped because people were protesting.
Everyone should realise that Indian Public have the shortest memory retention power.
So, decision should not be taken keeoing them in mind.

Sachin, Please Retire From Test Cricket.
by Upadrasta PardhaSaradhi on Apr 25, 2007 10:29 AM  Permalink

Its clear that tendulkar is not the same batsman he once was - but that is only to be expected. His reflexes have slowed and he has lost that extra split-second that he used to enjoy. That makes him look more ordinary and vulnerable. But I still think he has a very compact technique. And given the lack of talent around, he can certainly hold a place in the Indian team for now. Would he make the Australian team right now - the answer is no. But there arent too many knocking on the doors of the Indian cricket team right now.

Where the team management can help him is by giving him a clear role. I think he enjoys opening the batting in one day cricket. It puts him in a positive mindset, and it allows him to enter the field when India is 0/0 - so his mind is fresh and clear. I dont think he has the adaptability to adjust his game to different scenarios when he plays in the middle overs. He ends up thinking about it too much, and not playing his natural game. So, I think Sachin should open the batting in one day cricket.

In test cricket - I think he should retire. We need to nurture a new look middle order. Sachin - in my view - is not a great test match batsman. He is good, but there have been many better than him. His only hundred in the last 2 years has been a scratchy one at kotla - and he is simply blocking the number 4 test slot. That is a slot that yuvraj should now occupy. In our test match line-up, I think we need to look at building the nucleus of a new team (batsmen between the ages of 23 and 27).
