Lack of commitment, fighting spirit, negative body language, playing for self recores, to cement place for next matches, sponsers, poor fielding, trying to expose each on the field, promoting groupism etc.. Has coach told instructed for all these?? chappell's big mistake was he treated all players alike, equally and push the players from comfort zone. many superstars were taken their placed for granted.... winning and defeat depends on performance of XI players on the field irrepective of coach, captain, pitch and conditions. SL is playing superb cricket None of senior player /ex captain m envied mahila%u2019s his promotion as captain From the outset they gave unstinting support. they remained hungry to perform and did not rely on reputation or popular support to protect theanguly and sachin should have fought battle on ground rahter in dressing room both may successful to get rid of chappell but both players may not play WC2011

This is whathe has done, problem is there any many more like sameer and girish rao, whom chappell was able to convince.. you forgot my dear friends, on the way to the finals they had 8 successive win with a 'NOW OR NEVER" given by saurav and the team rallied and HUDDLED around him, he was the leader Chappell wanted knew, being around his plans wouldnt complete, luck can be once, not again in australia and not again in pakistan and not again in natwest finals...

and to add that on the way they gave crushing defeats to pakis and sri lankans at peak of their mights as well, inzy was younger and so were murali vaas and jayasuriya then, so were south africans, so were english guys[england... they didnt defeat only minnows...!!!!!!!!!!!

Really if we remember it was inspired performance of Sachin and not Ganguly... kicking Ganguly was good decision and that is the reason that guy is back to form... similar treatment to Sachin and Sehwag will bring them back to form and it will be good for cricket!!!

hahaha i agree with you on that ganguly needed a kick on his butt those daze in zimbawe but i guess he got it a wee bit too hard dont you think so but its ok its the past and now the good thing is hez functioning at about 70 % capacity thats more than good enuf...but but but well sehwag ka to baat hi muth karo ......in cricketing history I have never seen a worse player yaar ....kumble and mcgrath bat far far better than sehwag and he is still in the team imagine how much money he would have paid dravid and the nexus is unthinkable and sachin needs some mental alignment with the game and he will fire like never before

it was the combination of good bowling, luck(Kenya semi-final opponents) and some occasional good batting(Sachin) that took us to final. In the finals we were thoroughly exposed.

of course it is better. If we had somehow beaten Bangladesh and qualified for Super 8, Australia would have hammered us for 500 Runs.
Every article ends up in poor Sachin's bashing... here are bunch of people talking as if they know everything... and then you read comments from legends who have played the game and know him personally... every person from Ponting to Lara... from Warne to McGrath talks about Sachin with respect and talks about his on field and off the field behaviour... and this is what that man is... in 17 years had shown maturity like none... every legend had his own funny stories... and look at this person a true icon in all respect...
Even when whole team didn't support him in his captaincy he didn't speak anything against anyone... even during matches you can see Dravid talking to him... Ganguly talks to him... all youngsters in team are seen comfortable with him... god knows how the hell all these people got the news that he is having a group!!!
Poor guy is just getting brickbats for everything... if tomorrow 100 people die i am sure all these people come and blame him for that!!!... jab sher key bure din aatey hain to bachey bhi mungfli martey hain!!!

you r absolutely right.no body in their right mind will question sachin's credentials.but what we need is "runs" not the stroies of past glory.if u want him to guide youngsters do it by set up a cricket academy by his name and appoint him as chairman or what ever designation u want.he earned more in cricket than anybody else in world cricket so u cant argue that what the country did to him for his "records".when he was in prime form say 6 or 7 yrs back even great bowlers were intimidated by his sheer presence.but nowadays as u know even part-time bowlers are enjoying his painful stay at the crease.what we need is not the maturity off the field , but the aggression on the field.even a layman watching cricket for the past 15 yrs can tell the difference in his batting.no body's record will stand forever."Records are meant to be broken" as they say.why not we try and find out players who can do it for india?.hero adulation should stop with Bollywood.We Should try to build a team not sole heroes.
Although in MB there are several comments against Gavaskar and I have also written critical comments against him . As compared to dirt flleow like More, Ravi Shastri, and despicable, spineless Captain Dravid , and so many of them,he is far far far better. He has accepted that Vishy was a better batsman than him ,which to me is accepting the truth,because Vishy was a classy and spontanuous cricketer and played with more commitment to the team.

That is not true. Kaps can never match Sunny in strategies.He was a player who would use his heart than head while Sunny was a mix of both which reflects in his record as Captain.

Kapil no doubt played his cricket with heart for India and made India to win the WC -83,But he was made to cry on TV .This is how we treat our best allrounder . See the difference how Imran Khan is treatred in Pakistan with honour, We are always against the good fellows and Reward the useless fellows like the disgraceful Captain Dravid and rascal Chappelwho have destroyed the Indian team with the filthy politics of BCCI .Which was also done to Kapil Dev ,He was rewarded by being strpped of his Captaincy little soon after achieving success. Indians are basically haters of success . They always see the individual success more than team success. We are always trying to bring down good ,because we are full of jealousy ,if something is good in our society. But bad things we support a lot and enjoy the success of bad guys.

India doesnt have good players either senior/juniors. India had a good team in the past, but other team have overtaken us in terms of strategy, fitness etc. Coach can't do anything if we don't have good players, Gavaskar knows this so he does'nt want to coach Team India, he knows very well the rot is nothing to do with the coach. He just wants to settle a few scores with the Aussies since he has lost the debate with Ricky Ponting
Gavaskar's comments and their timing indicate that he is speaking on behalf of Tendulkar and Ganguly.Chappel can now be flogged as he has gone and the prima donnas of Indian cricket protected.If Chappel continues as a consultant the Mumbai hegemony cannot be protected and hence Gavaskar wants him out.Fine.When all this decline undec Chappel and Dravid was taking place why did not the great,astute thinker with only Indian cricket at heart not give his great views.Now we have Sharad Pawar,Vengsarkar,Ravi Shastri all in place.Dravid seems to toe their line.I think Dravid is making a great mistake.Let him give up captaincy and let the Mumbaikars show their worth.Let Sachin be the captain and then maybe he will get some runs when it matters.Once Sachin is in as captain,India can only go up as it cannot go down.That is the best gameplan for the Mumbai group.Dravid is the one who does not fit in.Kapil and others from the north had better wake up.I am sick and tired of the excuses being trotted out when the game has moved on to another level.

targetting Australian behaviour in general was in such a bad taste. It is all right to criticize players based on some particular incidents, but to simply say Australians in general are rude is simply rubbish.
