Pity on Sunil Gavaskar
by shyam varma on Apr 22, 2007 05:12 PM  Permalink

Few weeks back Sunil Gavaskar received a tight slap from Ricky Ponting for the comments he made against Australian team. Now for this unwarranted and irresponsible comments on Greg Chappell, he should get an even more tighter game. He has created a great reputation during his playing days, really dont understand why he trying to ruin it now ?

Indian cricket's current state is to be blamed on poor administration, non-committed and irresponsible players, selfsh corporate and media

Gavaskar is right
by Gautam Chakrabarti on Apr 22, 2007 05:11 PM  Permalink

There should be always a reward if objective is achieved and punishment if not. In this simple rule, Gavaskar is right that Greg Chappel has no face to show in Indian cricket. BCCI will do more harm to nation, if non-performing personnel are selected again.

What rubbish!!!!!
by Srinivasan N on Apr 22, 2007 05:08 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

With due respect to Sunny as one of the prolific run scorer and so on, I beg to differ on his views regarding Greg and most certainly on Greg having been central to what India has achieved in WC. We all know Greg to be one of the finer players during his days and like any decent Australian, he is a man of character and determination. The coach is as good as his team. If a bunch of 11 lads of so called very high class experience failed UTTERLY MISERABLY to score because of their callous unconcern for their own reputation and that of their country, why make one man a scapegoat. I am struggling to remember more than a few occassions when this now ousted TOP BATSMAN of Indian cricket made a difference to the result of the game. I ma more than convinced that this batsman deserved such a respect form Greg.

I couldn't agree with someone saying TENDULKAR AND .... are the most self-centred batsmen we have seen in world cricket. It is amzing how some people can put themselves before its team and countrymen. I certainly have no regard for those gain more than they deserve.

Thank you all

Hi,

Exactly.

It is also another proof that we can cannot work with men of character and determination.

Our PM - A man who is a courtier of Gandhi family.

Our Power Minister- Sushil Kumar (Talked of as next president) is a failure - Business standard.

Our Finance Min - A share market minister who has cut the money supply and stiffled the Industry. (Cement companies are caring a hoot for his requests for price reduction, which is tughlakian way of management.)

Our Home Min - A total failure

chapel has cheated india team
by Sijo Joseph on Apr 22, 2007 05:08 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Do not forget that he is an Australian. And India was the only one capable team in the criket world le to beat Australia pas few years.
I am sure it was a plan of chappel to distroy india cricket team and he has succeded in that. Well done Mr. Chappel.

But we have lot fools in BCCI they have never thought about it.

We should have a coach from India only.

I think this is one of the most immature and racist comment I have ever seen in my Life. I think is one of the most extraordinarily foolish thing to say.

see guys we can see the fate of indian cricket..
dont blame the aussies for their approach..if they r arrogant they are but they deserve to be due to their success on field rather than our cricketers who are successful in advertising field..

u cant compare a single indian cricketer for an australian for committment or hunger for success..

lets take things positively here......
our bunch of cricketers are just hanging on for their personal glory rather than for success of our team..

so whoever becomes coach the present conditions will exist unless our cricketers realise the morality and for once true to be true to their own heart and soul and their performance on field..

sunny u can only say but if u have guts come forward and try to be in gregs shoes..then u will realise wat ur chelas are really made of..
