BASICALLY OUR TEAM IS WEAK
by Errampalle Jawahardatham on Apr 22, 2007 05:17 PM  Permalink

OUR TEAM IS BASICALLY WEAK WITH POOR TALENT, EXCEPTING 2 OR 3 PLAYERS. COACH, CAPTAIN AND TEAM MANAGER ARE SECONDARY THINGS. THE SELECTION PROCESS ITSELF IS FLAWED.

NOW THERE IS A NEED TO GENERATE, ENCOURAGE AND SUPPORT TALENT FROM THE GRASSROOT LEVELS.

Chappel was right in disciplining the players but fool in dealing with team as a whole!
by sunil awasthi on Apr 22, 2007 05:16 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

No doubt, Indian players deserve to be disciplined because a casual individual success make them to feel like a God and beyond team discipline and Guru Chappel did right thing. But his vision to make everyone jack of all and master of none made Indian team just better than Bermuda. We were just expecting SriSant to do wicketkeeping and Dhoni to do fast bowling. Touchwood, he did not try that now everyone should experiment with captaincy! We might have seen Piyush Chawla as Captain and Manoj Tiwary as vice captain during his tenure. Team is fortunate to get rid of such casual person. Casual approach can make a casual team which will perform casually. Thanks we did not loss to Bermuda. Under Chapell's guidance, next step was to loose Bermuda!

Well atlast some one like Gavaskaratleast comented against Chappell, good, now we all wiil come to see some more coments on this context its my belief and it will prove further that our "TEEM INDIA"will shine again,'course if all thoes misdids if waived and not reapeted further, and "BCCI"gives proper share of credit to players thoes who really achived some thing for 'INDIA'as captain or otherwise,it will boost the spirit and result of play will be reflected often...come on team India come on its u who can really achive ur desired result always.

Gavaskar's cooment
by sridhar krishnamachary on Apr 22, 2007 05:14 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Hey U keep talking anything that comes out of your mouth, look's like senility has set in..
If you are so concerned why don't u take up coaching the Indian Team. The openers can take a leaf out of your batting prowess, the openrs can bat through all the 50 overs and score about 100 runs, as you did in one of the WC matches, you did bat with a purpose that time, you will not agree but it was because Venkat was offered the captaincy and you did not like one bit of it.
Team India has never seen a more selfish cricketer than you.
People talk about records the number of runs scored, what for, did it help the teams cause, how many of your hundreds fetched India the victory. Even as a captain you were found wanting.
Stop all this nonsense talk, act, if interested tell the BCCI that you are interested to revamp Team India and tell your price, and stipulate time.

Good sensible post mr Sridar..Gavaskar was the most selfish player we ever had..agreed that Chappel deal was a flop for Indian team but Gavaskar is barking too much making ridiculous assumptions that Ireland will beat Australia very soon..he is getting mentally effected by age it seems..

The openers would bat and score not 100 but 34 valuable runs in 50 overs

Some times I really feel we Indians are the most foolish peope in the world. We are not a united nation.when some problems come our way then only we stand beside...

That Chappel came here done all the mess in Indian cricket...He arise the question on the Sachin's Bahaviour and when Some one like Sunil Gavskar stand by Schin's side..you guyz are saying him Selfish....

I totaly agree with Sunil Gavaskar's views.

On every critical issue, India has two kinds of opinionated people: southies and non southies...Southies are the biggest ras*als of India...always...political...never a freedom fighter....always scheming, etc etc...

No wonder idiots like the one above will ask Gavaskar to keep quiet because what is more important for that nincompoop bangalorean is to retain Dravid as captain.

Operation Talents
by vijay ayyangar on Apr 22, 2007 05:13 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I think in the interest of Indian Criket team we should look at our younger generation.I feel we should go village to village , city to city and State to state and identify prospects and train tehm. I would ideally feel Sunil Gavaskar and Kapil Dev should shoulder the responsibilities of spotting young talents.

For the betterment of our cricket..
by Gaurav Deol on Apr 22, 2007 05:12 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Make some one like Mohinder Amarnath as the coach( he used to play for the country, not for personal records like gavaskars, gangulys and tendulkars), make Yuvraj as the captain( he brings aggression like Smith, Ponting and he is the future) and Kapil as the bowling coach..Immediately..Robin Singh should be the feilding coach..And oh yea, impose ban on the loud barking Gavaskars, Mores and other useless selfish players
