In my opinion , you are more than correct. No body has heard the warning of Australians that Chappell is good to coach individual but DESTROY any team of world. He is Demotivator. You cannot help Indian Cricket. It is devided house and it will always be. We Indians are emotional fools and not thinking rationally and analytically.talks without datas. Only GOD can help BCCI. Keep fit and enjoying commentry box.
gavaskar is right, chapell and dravid are to be blamed first for the world cup exit, because chappel went on doing experiments before the world cup and dravid insisted that they would continue to do experiments, when india lost greg blamed ********** on the seniors and resigned like a coward , without facing any more challenges.
The next biggest mistake we see is every time the team goes out to play outside the subcontinent, they perform miserably ,but they dont think laterally.
The pitches should be hard and bouncy so that we can produce more fast bowlers who can win matches.
If the batsmen fail the bowlers should deliver as they did in 1983/1985,even with a low score we could defend the score because of good quality fast and swing bowling, which is lacking in the current teams and i think the board should make fast ,green tracks for the ranji, irani and duleep trophy.
we must have at least 6-8 bowlers who can consistently bowl at a speed of 90 miles an hour.
Sunny first of all being such a great cricketer yourself you should understand that its the players who win or loose matches. The performance of the coach largely depends on his involvement with team selection, his relationship with the players and also ability of the players to implement his strategy on the field. No doubt Greg's job was not upto the mark but holding his solely responsible is not fair.As we have seen in case of Lanka & Bangladesh what nice coordination between coach &players can achieve. Its high time BCCI makes performance based selection and thats the only way out

soumyaji, i would noty go as far as calling him a great..he was a good cricketer with attributes and technique no doubt but he was a selfish one..He never played for the team and now with all these useless comments, he is fast dropping down in the popularity charts

Of course Shetty, probably from Karwar, would do anyhting to support a fellow from his own state, one Rahul Dravid, who has played his Nagpur (his parents and wife are from Nagpur)and South Indian (being settled in Bangalore) cards to the utmost adavantage.
Nothing but Jealosy is making Gavaskar write all the Bullshit about Greg and Australian Cricket. If gavaskar is made Coach of Indian Team, he will team up with useless Senior Players to make more money. Also he will try desperately to promote Rohan Gavaskar.

Yes I agree. Tell me what gavaskar has contributed to indian cricket. Gobbled up money for appearance, for cutting ribbons, for bringing his son who was worst than his father. He tried to sneak him through backdoor. Shame on you sunny for commenting on greg. Please look inside your own soul.
For a person who :(i) scored 36 n.o in 60 overs after opening the innings & cited 'mental block' as the reason, (ii) was in the panel which approved Greg Chappell's appointment as coach and (iii)had the horrendous poor taste to comment on David Hookes after his death & then apologising for it in print, his petty comments don't come as a surprise @ all to knowledgeable cricket watchers/followers. Blaming the coach for the inept performance of the players is like blaming the sky for raining down. the coach can only impart inputs till the team enters the field. he can't play for the entire 11.Despite the mafia like seniors Tendulkar, Ganguly, Sehwag & Harbhajan who dominated the dressing room & disobeyed him openly bcoz of their 'star' status Chappell did his best to revive a faction ridden team. Gavaskar has always ran with the hares & hunted with the hounds... matlab jiska palda bhaari us taraf jhuk gaya. The similarities between Gavaskar & Tendulkar is also to be noted - neither has been a match winner in crunch situations & both are selfish to the core. if he 's so concerned let him put himself in the coach's shoes. why doesn't he do that ? bcoz he knows how difficult a job that is. it's easier to criticize like a know all. Till all the non performing seniors are permanently removed & cricket in india is run by cricketers instead of politicians we will continue to languish in the bottom of the cricketing hierarchy.

I THINK MR.GAVASKAR HAS LOST HIS MIND. HOW CAN YOU BLAME A COACH. ULTIMATELY COACH IS NOT PLAYING. HE CAN GIVE GUIDANCE ONLY. IF THE PLAYERS ARE NOT NOT KEEN TO HEAR, IT IS NOT THE FAULT OF THE COACH. HERE WE HAVE TUNDULKAR LIKE ADD PLAYERS. THEY DON'T WANT TO PLAY THEY WANT MONEY THAT'T IT. HE DON'T HAVE CONCENTRATION. HIS CONCENTRATION IS ON ADDS RATHER THAN PLAYING CRICKET. WHY DON'T HE TAKE RETIREMENT. IT IS VERY SHAME FOR THE COUNTRY THAT SACHIN AND SEWAG LIKE ADD PLAYERS ARE STILL IN THE TEAM. BETTER GIVE CHANCE TO STREET CRICKETERS. THEY WILL PLAY BETTER THAN THESE ADD PLAYERS.

MR.Mani i totally agree with u.The kind of domination this old senior dog's hold on management and selector they pressurise the system against their will with the help of political support. When dravid won contineously match after match in 2005 this old dogs like gavaskar and etc praised coach and the captain. But things change suddenly as greg kickout ganguly and during that period tendulkar was injured and team performed well.So the bottom line is just kick out the senior player and put some bone in mouthof people like gavaskar(Selfish).

I dont understand, if coach cannot do much, better we not have a coach at all. why extra burden to bcci. Coaches make difference. Dav Whatmore shown it when he was the coach of srilanka in 1996 and bangladesh in 2007
Gavaskar is upset as his son Rohan is not selected. So he is trying to show his displeasure by criticising Chappel. Tomorrow he will criticise the selection committee. He was given number of chances to coach Indian cricket team. He did not oblize as he knows it is one of the most difficult assignments.

Yes Gavaskar would have praised Greg if Rohan Gavaskar was included in the Indian Team.
Shameless fellow.Gavaskar is the typical Example of Politics in Indian Cricket!
these are only maharashtrians who have spoiled cricket in india. BCCI has become puppet in their hands. everybody knows how gavasker and shastri were playing at ground, only they are big politicians.
maharashtrians only favor their own people regardless either it is in favor or against Indian cricket.
their every action is biased, partial and favored for maharashtra only.
