gavaskar is perfectly right. what is chappel's contribution ---- india were finalist in the last world cup and they were knocked down in the very first game of the current world cup. that is the contribution of chappel.
india reached final in last world cup --- without chappel and without any divisions in the team.
gavaskar has hit the nail on its head, by saying australian cricket will have same fate and will get beaten by ireland, if chappel hold some position over there.

gavaskar was monitoring chappel's activity with the team on hourly basis. when the end result is in front of everyone, he is commenting like we do.
as regards 16 members are doing what --- that is precisely the point. chappel created the division in the team and the fear as well. everyone was reluctant to confront him, fearing they have will go the saurav ganguly way.
This message is for those who exhibit racial or regional intolerance to others and not to any specific Mr Deol, Mr mitra etc. There are always black sheeps in community or dirty fish in pond. I hope these people will understand. Not too many people learn from history that races worldover have achieved success only when they come work together. I dont need to explain US, Europion Union, Japan, korea, Australia. There were thousands of wars and millions killed among irish, scottish, french in last 1000 years but now they are most strong countries because they have come together and come above their petty differences. But we indians, despite having best of all traits : Bravery (North indians) ,business (western) ,education (South),literature (Bengalis) havent made a mark in world as an indians but as punjabis, bengalis, marathis etc. Result ? we lost to a country 1/50 in our size and population. Every community have their own strenghs and weaknesses but that doesnt mean you should start picking on them for petty fun. In US a dakota resident would equally cheer for texas guy in NBA/NFL/MLB when fighting against other countries etc. Problem in indians is, they have too much hauteur among them of the traits they have. They start generalising thing too quick. If Ganguly played bad doesnt mean whole West bengal is responsible and similiarly for others. why whole marathis are blamed for Gavaskar's immature comments. The day we can come together and play for nation, we can beat whole world in all the sports and not just australia in a test match series played in australia. Thanks

Gavaskar announced sometime back Sachin is fit till 2011 keeping Sachins financial commitments in mind. Now Sachin is axed and if Indian team fares well in ODI during Bangladesh tour, Sachin may be axed permanently. Hence Gavaskar is worried/furious and boiling. Thats the only reason for his outburst on Greg Chappel. Greg Chappel is history now. No point in talking about him. But our Gavaskar is capable of criticising dead persons like David Hookes and will later tender apologies to the family members ! Gavaskar will be doing a world of good, if he keeps his mouth shut till Indian Cricket improves !

Well said Raman , Indian cridket is what chappel pointed out... and it will only improve if there are no stars in the team.... we for sure might have done more better in the world cup if our under 19 team have been there...
The little master gavaskar always has a big soft corner for the Bombay players.So it,s no wonder he blames Greg for the india,s debacle.Where was he when greg was chosen as the coach? this question he should have raised at the selection of the coachin 2005.We do respect gavaskar for his cricketing abilities.But we condone him for making such idiotic comments,when he says that the coach is responsible for our defeat.Earlier also he made a stupid comment on Ricky pointing and got some brickbats for that.sachin tendulkar and Agarkar were total flop....why he is not able to say and digest that...because they are from Bombay.Vengsarkar the chairman of the selectors was resposible for the team selection.Why not blame him...because he is from Bombay.It,s better Gavaskar stops this sort of mud slinging habit and behave like a true professional ought to be in the world of cricket.That,s good for him and for indian cricket.

Gavaskar has not made any idiotic comments, dear. Greg, along with Kiran More and Rahul Dravid, has caused great harm to Indian cricket. When ganguly was captain, despite losses in ODIs, India was number two in ICC test rankings. Where are we now? And we have not improved either in the ODI rankings. Greg, Kiran More and highly insecure rahul Dravid brought groupism to the Team India that Ganguly, the only indian captain who always rose above paarochailism by promoting Yuvraj, Zaheer, Harbhajan, Shehwag and kaif, had built. Unfortunately, the BCCI does not respect those who have brought us honours - Wadekar, bedi, Shrikant,Sachin and Ganguly - they were not invited even in the last meeting of Indian captains! BCCI these days are guided by the likes of Raj Singh Dungarpur and Bangalore-journalist Rajan Bala who think white crickers and cricketing nations must be treated like Gods. Dungarpore had once sided with Denis Amiss by saying Sachin did the worst from of ball-tampering in South Africa. No wonder why Dungapur and Bala hate the likes Ganguly, Wadekar and Shrikant who dared to see through the eyes of their rival and white captains!
Very well said!! India should stop playing against all these whites and they should stop playing abroad all together(Why should we take a chance when we definitely we cannot win against SL or Pakistan in their country). Afterall our player's average and superhuman in our country (Dhoni averages 99.94 in india, outside he averages only 21). This will give us a very good chance of winning the next world cup (Afterall it is going to be played in the subcontinent).

What makes Gavaskar think Aussie Cricket Academy is wrong. May be he is wrong. May be Chappel is very good caoch and was not supported by players (Tendulkar included).

Well put Gaurav, useless blaming coach for our non-performing prima donnas!! Harbhajan singh has become such a big zero that he failed to take even a single wicket!! Sachin Tendulkar failed in both matches!! Sehwag is a disaster! Kaif is a shocking failure! when prima donnas fail, what can the coach do?? It is very unfair to blame Greg chappell for India's exit!! the seniors inclsuing Sachin, Dravid and Ganguly should take responsibillity for the defeat! Our system is flawed!! Here were two guys who behaved most irresponsibly: Uhtappa and dhoni! and yet both have been rewarded with berths in the Bangla bound team!! It is this nonsense that is responsible for the fiasco that is Indian crciket! Pls stop blaming Chappell!!

you seem to parrott India's foreign policy - any domestic problem - blame it on ISI. Any problem in Indian cricket - bame it on Ganguly. may be there is a tacit admission here; Ganguly is the most successful captain and he got the team to be the number #2. Can you deny that (oh! you would say Dalmya scored all his runs) ; I seriouslt douby how loing you have been following cricket; did you know under what circumstances, Ganguly was made a captain; can you deny that Ganguly was least parochial? Ask Shewag, Nehra, Mogia, Parthiv, Zaheer, harbhajan, kaif Yuvraj et all. What did Mr Chappel & Rahul did - screwed all of them up. Why did Utthappa still go becos he is from Karnataka! I never put the whole blame on Ganguly!! what i said was that senior players like Ganguly, Dravid and Tendulkar should take sole reponsibility for the mess that Indian cricket is in!! Team selection is wrong, the attitude of senior players is flawed, in that case how can the coach be blamed?? I never singled out Ganguly though i'll say he should take some responsibiltiy for the defeat much like Dravid and Tendulkar!!
