Chappel blame game !
by Amit Bhat on Apr 23, 2007 08:58 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

This is truly nonsense to blame Chappel for everything !

When Sachin Tendulkar who has been playing for the past 16 years cant touch a ball and keeps getting on bowled out, and can never play in crunch games, is it Chappel's fault???

The players in India who have been playing from a decade cant show a performance, is it fault of the coach????

If the senior pros in the team are not retiring, is it the fault of the Coach????

Well lets accept it is a sport like others which requires a professional approach.

And the team which doesnt have it will not suceed.

Tendulkar says no coach has questioned my commitment as yet......

Has he ever asked how many people have questioned his ability as this age????

Senior pros ahould retire and give the team some chace at least in the 2011 worls cup !!!

It is very interesting to note that the divided Indian team phenomenon wasn't present in World Cup 2003. It surfaced in 2005, when Chappell took over as coach. Was that because of our Indian players or for once would you like to consider the crimes committed by the GREAT CHAPPELL

The mistake of the coach is his inablity to finalize the last 11. Before the world cup, last 11 players must play at least 10 one-day games together, that creates a sense of camaradrie among members. India, England, Pakistan, West Indies are facing the same problem.

Shocking not expected of Sir Gavaskar
by BALASUBRAMANIAN VISWANATHAN on Apr 23, 2007 08:56 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

It is shocking to read this column. Wonder whats wrong with Gavaskar. To put all the blame for the defeat on chappel is ridiculously wrong. Does gavaskar mean that sachin, SEHWAG, ETC could not bat due to chappel?

Instead of owning up the shamefull defeat the board made chappel the scapegoat. If chappel was to become the coach of Australia they will become more powerfull.

If chapell really is capable of making australia more powerful, then he would have been made aussies coach long back.

Pathetic Vengaskar

I pity at Vengaskar. He is under tremendous pressure from Gavaskar for dropping Sachin. Thats why Vengaskar has come out resting Dravid at some stage even before the torunament has started with Bangladesh. This attitude of Vengaskar shows he is another spineless chap in the list !

RE:Gavaskar the Shameless Ploitician

Gavaskar has said correct. I always feel this thing how no 2 team can become no 10 team. Chappel did politics and nothing else. Before telling us the scores of Gavaskar you should always remember that chappel was also known for his dirty tricks in cricket ( underarm bowling ) . Chappel is the part and parcel of old white trick that divide the Indians and rule them . You idiots always support such white people without giving Indians giving a chance. You also think like black Englishman the who thinks that white is good in everything and always. Board should not make him consultant.

How long you fellows tell the same old story of divide and rule. Indian cricket is nothing but a third rated political outfit. Leave alone Chappel. Even God cannot correct this dirty bunch.

I am sorry to see the low level to which Gavaskar has sunk.He seems to be on a mission to save the Mumbakars. This is sad.Let him first face facts.Tendulkar is not doing well.Admit it then talk about Greg.I am sorry to see the total dominance of the arrogant Mumbaikars in cricket.Vengsarkar is terrible look at him undermining Dravid. He must be asked to shut up.Gavaskar has earned money and not contributed to the game in India. And now we have Ravi Shastri a complete old boys club.Dravid had better put the Sharath on and claim he is a Marathi to survive.Otherwise the great Vengsarkar will shortly say he knows no batting.Raw talent from North or South ,East or West should be given a chance.Gavaskar on Greg Chappel is tendulkar's mouth piece. We cannot buy this.My little respect for Gavaskar has comletely evaporated.

After that dose of regional allegations against gavaskar, lets look back at what happened.

It is very interesting to note that the divided Indian team phenomenon wasn't present in World Cup 2003. It surfaced in 2005, when Chappell took over as coach. Was that because of our Indian players or for once would you like to consider the crimes committed by the GREAT CHAPPELL.

I would rather believe a person who played for India all his life than a person who only abused Indians during his tenure as coach

Gavaskar is right - Chappel is an expensive mistake by BCCI!
by on Apr 23, 2007 08:48 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Greg Chappel was a great batsman in his era. But, as a coach, he failed. The guys that are crying foul over Gavaskar's comments will do well to know Bobby Simpson, the worldcup winning Aussie coach has a similar opinion that Greg performed poorly as a coach and captain.
