You are still a better captain than Dravid, atleast you have admitted your failure by saying that England deserved to be booed off.

England's exit
by Jomesh George on Apr 18, 2007 06:13 PM  Permalink

England team like WI always rely on some individual performance and no team effort is there. It was Freddie alone gained the Ashes and recently Collingwood singlehandedly won the Tri series in Australia.Look at WI also there is over dependance on Lara and Gayle.Once such master players failed the result for the team is disastrous.

BORING WORLDCUP
by Harshan M R on Apr 18, 2007 02:32 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

THE MOST BORING WORLDCUP I HAD EVER WATCHED SINCE ITS INCEPTION IN 1975.IT IS VERY HILLARIOUS TO WATCH TEAMS LIKE IRELAND & B"DESH PLAY AGAINST AUSTRALIA & SOUTHAFRICA.POWERFUL TEAMS LIKE INDIA & PAKISTAN ARE ELIMINATED FROM THE TOURNAMENT AND ARE BACK HOME.THE HOST WEST INDIES IS ALSO NOT THERE IN THE FRAY.THEN WHO WILL LIKE TO SEE CRICKET PLAYED BY SOME UNKNOWN NAMES.THE COMEDY OF ERROR STARTS WHEN AUSTRALIA TAKES PRIDE IN BEATING THESE TEAMS.NO WONDER AUSTRALIA IS WINNING ALL THE MATCHES IN THIS WC. NO WONDER PEOPLE ARE NOT COMING TO THE STADIUM.THIS WC IS REDUCED TO A COMIC LEVEL AND ONLY THOSE WHO WANTS TO WHILE AWAY THE TIME WOULD FLOCK TO THE STADIUM NOT TO WATCH THE MATCH,BUT TO READ AN INTERESTING NOVEL WHICH THEY HAVE BEEN LONGING FOR.IT IS A PITY THAT THE WEST INDIES FOLK ARE NOT BLESSED ENOUGH TO SEE GREAT LEGENDS OF THE CALIBRE OF TENDULKAR,LARA,DRAVID,SHEWAG,INZAMAM,MOHAMMED YOUSUF,GAYLE,DHONI,GANGULY,IN THE THICK OF ACTION ON THE CRICKET FIELD,INSTEAD WE ARE FORCED TO WITNESS A FEW HALF KNOWLEDGE CRICKETERS DOING PART TIME ACROBATICS ON THE FIELD.EVEN IF AUSTRALIA WINS THIS WC,IT CANNOT TAKE PRIDE IN THE GLORY.INDIA WILL BOUNCE BACK STRONGLY IN THE NEAR FUTURE TO CRUSH THEIR OPPONENTS AND OUR BATSMEN ARE REARING TO MAKE MINCE MEAT OF THE OPPOSITION BOWLING ON ANY SPOT OF THE GLOBE.INDIA HAS THE WHEREWITHAL TO DO IT. THIS IS NO EXAGERATION, BUT THE GOSPEL TRUTH.

JAI INDIA........JAI INDIA.........

harshan what you have said is true, but i feel Australia is undoubtedly the best team in the world. Just see the consistency, awesome stuff. They deserve to win the World Cup.

If our batsmen are `REARING` it will be a bit into the future, say 20-25 years, before they produce their successors. Unfortunately, dynasty or nepotism are not principles that work too often on the sports field. I hope that they `REAR` at least decent fielders.

I appreciate your comments, but I disagree with you on WI comapring with Ind & Pak. WI have played 6 matches(super 8) more than these 2. SL is far better than these 2, they dont have big names like Sachin(tons of runs but none when needed), Ganguly, Sehwag, Dravid but they have Murali, Vaas, Sangakara and Jayasurya (also others like Malinga, maharoof) who play like a TEAM. Not like ours great Sachin, simply in order to take the responsibility they PASSED THE BUCK to Greg. Now who will remember all these until next WC. The same old warriors will play like aged warriors in Indian Govt. In reality the real developement is 1 step forward and 3 backwards. God Bless India (request to God - dont get angry with me by giving you an huge/difficult job). How can you blame the WC instead of blaming of old warriors ? Yes its Gospel truth, there hope should be a cause for living. Hope India wins atleast one more WC. Start counting from 2011...may be sachin prospers or may be dhoni or may be dravid. One liner for sachin : Tons of runs but none in one(needed). God bless him with more ads and wealth.

too egoistic...
you want to play and win matches amongst the yourself aka the old timers and not let the new teams come up..only because you fear humiliation on being beaten by them.... australia is just in taking pride in beating small teams, at least their team is working and reflecting their training and practise.

Your views are typically of an Indian fan whose horizon is very narrow and short... in fact the majority of people in India also have the same attitude. No wonder why were are so insulated and static in cricket.

Drop the following Players
by prakashsuriya on Apr 18, 2007 01:34 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Mr. Vaughan You are very good Captain but it does not means that you should open You always come at Number 3 in One-day and Opening in Test Matches
Kindly drop the following players for several reasons :
1. Kevin Peterson - Playing for Himself
2. Andrew Flintoff - He is always looking for Captaincy he does not understand the one-day cricket it is not that important you are bowling very well first you have to bat well as a allrounder like Abdul Razack or Jacque Kallis
3. Monty Panesar - Where do you pick this gentleman for One-day he has taken only one wicket in this worldcup on the bigger matches. Instead of him you should pick Ian Blackwell or Ashley Giles

Note :- Mr. Michael Vaughan all the people were criticising you to quit from One-day. My view points to you is that England Test Players were more Competant and One-day

Choose this Oneday Teams for future generation
1. Michael Vaughan
2. Marcus Trescothick
3. Andrew Strauss
4. Ian Bell
5. Ian Blackwell
6. Paul Nixon
7. Plunkett
8. Giles
9. Sajid Mehmood
10. John Lewis
11. James Anderson

india and england are not eligible for world cup, india did good thing by pulling out in earlier phase. England was pain to watch. They themselves were so clear that they are not eligible for super 8. These teams made world cup a boring tournament.

See our hero Sachin again playing well in India.

You should understand that it is because of Kevin Pieterson they got at least some decent scores in the world cup. Otherwise, the team is full of crap men. I don't understand y u r targeting kevin. It is true that he slowed a bit to get a hundred against Australia. If that is playing for himself, then what about Tendulkar, and Dada. Tendulkar was playing just for himself throughout his career. He batted well against minnows, but when it comes to good sides and crucial matches, look how he failed.

BCCI Games
by alphabet alphabet on Apr 18, 2007 01:11 PM  Permalink

Has anyone looked deeper how BCCI plays with public sentiment.
a) Zonal selections will end w.e.f. October 2008 - till then the current selectors on Zonal basis will continue. Why not abolish Zonal selection right now.
b) BCCI has discovered over endorement is reason behind players non-performance sorestrict it to three endorsments only - that too with prior approval of BCCI. Do you smell something in this how BCCI wants more control.
c) In case players do not perform just drop them. Automatically their endorsements will come down. Why this hypocricy - complicity to keep few players in the team all the time and block youngsters entering in.
