Mr. take it easy,

I am sorry I mean for cricket not for you. How you justify, if somebody(not talking just about Sachin) has played well 3-4 years back and not playing good cricket since 2-3 years. I think he should retire rather that just filling the position.

NO Santosh, Idare to differ from your opinion. We should have patience, sachin will come back in action. To be frank we all are expecting too much from him, he is also a mere human being who has extraordinary capability to play this game. but somehow he is having a bad patch and definitely he will come back to form.
And if he doesnot then he is smart enough to hang his boots.

Me too differ from your opinion. Bad patch is something not forever it should be limited to a period. If its stretched too long that mean you have serious problem in you and you have to think seriously about yourself, cricket and cricket lovers otherwise you will loose your respect. That is happening in the case of Sachin. I mean if you are intend to learn from your mistakes, then you will definately come out of that.
This frustration has not come in a single day its took almost 3 worst year.

santosh kumar get your facts and statistics right. Sachin is not half the player he was before but he is still much better than 98% batsmen in this world. His statistics over the past few years prove that. He cannot win matches on his steam, he never did and in a team game nobody can do that. Indians should be more realistic about what Sachin or any other player can and cannot do.

REPLY TO BALAJI
by jaison george on Apr 17, 2007 02:42 PM  Permalink

Balaji, why you are harasing
Sachin? He is a humanbeing like you & me. Did you failed anywhere? Every body has the failure as well as success. You may realise it. I am giving answers for your suggestion. Why are you asking for Sachin's retirement? If Schin is not playing well he is to be removed from Indian Team. You or people of India can suggest to Indian Govt on this point. Or you can file a suite with the court in non performers inclusion in Indian Cricket Team. Your point is right that Sachin is not playing well in Critical & crucial matches. Hence he is to be avoided from the team. But dont ask his resignation. Because he is an Indian & he is the right for proving his ability infront of Selectors. How can you deny that provision to Sachin? If you are in the place of Sachin, will you tell like this? When he can prove the skill he has a chance to come back. Balaji, we are to be more justifiable not to be cruel.

Dear Atkins,

Just because Sachin has played a knock and scored some runs, don't jump too much. Let him show some consistency in scoring and winning matches for India.

For God's sake don't create your aspirations on Greg and Rahul, etc. Greg is a great coach, we have lost him now, and Dravid is a fine gentleman.

When u are writing in public domain, be decent and share your good thoughts, in decent language/words, which people can enjoy reading.

With best wishes,

Sachin, much hyped Master blaster should play at any position whereever team needs him to play. He has been failing from long time. last 2003 worldcup and the one sharjah'99 are only 2 such instances where he proved his calibre. But, he is quite far to prove himself as a player. He is in team only by past performance and reputation and nothing else.we Indians should kick any player who doesn't perform.

shridhar how can you say greg was a great coach. his coaching record with south australia is mediocre and with India is average. He was certainly not "great"!!Chappel created tension in the dressing room with his highhanded and underhanded tactics. He alienated himself from the players, that is exactly the one thing a coach cannot do. The job of a coach is to strategize and motivate, but chappell wanted to be more of a selector. If you look at the Chappel brothers (read about them and their books) you will see they are not very nice people, they are abrasive, opinionated and very full of themselves. All these attributes are ok, if the person in front of you is also like that or if you are providing "expert" comments. But these attributes are absolutely lethal when you are the coach of the Indian cricket team during a stressful period for the team.

and what about other so called great batsman and young turks... i guess the pitch, bowlers and fielders changes to really tough as soon as they come... right?... and you must be wondering that it must be all players being paid to throw slow bowls at Sachin...

All those so called replacements for this man are not even scoring half of what this man is capable of!!!!

Sachin should have been opening the innings in worldcup and should have been given the type of assurance that was given to Jayasuriya by Srilanka.

Greg Chappel's mission was to finish off Indian team so that Australia can lift the worldcup once again. Greg should have been thrown out of India, instead the BCCI gave him time to resign.

Dear Reena,

You may love Sachin, which is a different matter altogether. But when he doesn't play well and help India win matches, we don't like him. You will agree with me that for the last few years, he has not been playing consistently due to one reason or the other. Therefore don't take such knocks against small teams seriously, Reena.

Hope you idol scores consistently big runs, and help India win consistently in times to come.

Srinivasan.

i really appreciate if u answers this...

he has only 5 or 6 centuries against ( zim, Ken). in late 90's ZIM was a good team.. not like present one with flowers, campell, whittal, Streak, Paul Strang, eddo Brandos and stuart carlisle... and kenya is semi-finalist of 2003 WC. When ricky ponting hit century against holland or canada u guyz praise him like..what a captaincy innings... shame on u paji
