not just cutting the cake but... Honourable Subodh JainJI (whose probably got a brain as large as a peanut) must file a separate case for eating the cake with tricolours! ...and then one more case for digesting the colours! i'll stop here. :0
Sachin was more or less known as a nation loving player still yesterday. The controversy over TIRANGA is misused to disgrace him. Different articles of daily use, like Shirts, T-Shirts, mufflers, shopping bags & baseball caps in the national flag colours available almost in all the countries of Europe & in USA. Why we are not ashamed of wide spread child labour in India? Is it not dishonouring Indian nation ?

I agree. People are cutting the tricolor into pieces and wearing them as white shirts, green shirts, and saffron shirts. That's a kind of dishonouring too :).
Let Sachin connect all the pieces back and hoist the cake like a flag because it has three colors of the flag. That would be great and funny too. Everyone will be happy there after.

The notion of respecting the "tricolor" is distorted in India. In my opinion one is liable to prosecution only if he/she disrespects the flag, not the DAMN COLOR!!!!!
I can make any combination of colors and and do whatever I want with it. And the Delhi Police is considering the constitution experts! When will India become a progressive and a pragmatic country?

what a crap mentality Doctor we have to respect our flag and its contents we must punish the people who take things so lightly and ignore the passion if we want to grow in a right way

The whole concept is ridiculous. A kid can paint the tricolor and tear it away. Is he desecrating the flag? Hell No!

many countries are using the same colors as India. eg. Ireland. One country, i don't know which, has the same sequence of colors as of India except that it doesn't have the chakra. So, any country which should be truly offended is definitely not India. All these controversies just because: 1. Team India didn't performed well at the WC 2. There are people who don't have anything to do 3. Ultimate Hypocrisy in the name of culture, country, religion in India which is the propaganda of all political parties. And the irony is, even though we know about it, we talk about it, we are responsible for this.

Agreed. It is is ridiculous to say that tricolor was dishonored. If the logic is followed the US can prosecute any guy who uses Red, White and Blue! There are a few countries whose flags are just 3 stripes of color (eg:Germany, France). In fact I think that the tricolor cake was an expression of a sense pride being an India. And Indians snatch the opportunity to defame a guy who immensely contributed to something that India is good at.
In the US you can display the colors of the flag even on undergarments. And Americans are extremely patriotic. However it is punishable to fold the flag in a wrong sequence. The folded flag should show only the stars and blue color.

There is a difference between the representation of the flag and the actual flag. But it takes brains to understand that.
