Indian Cricket
by Archana Moktan on Apr 09, 2007 09:54 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Well, well, well. The 2007 world cup is all over for the Indians but cricket itself is'nt. So what ever happens should not be repetative but the entire team should be reshuffled. I would suggest to bring on Dada again so as to bring about shape and discipline into the team and I am sure the entire arena would change. Guys like Sacchin, Sehwag, Kumble, should be dropped. They are too old now. Ashish Nehra should be brougth in again and so does Kaif deserve a chance.

can you please shut
by super tycoon on Apr 09, 2007 08:58 PM  Permalink

chetan,if you really interested to bring indian cricket up then can you please shut up.I too totally agree that BCCI should not reduce the match fee for players besides that have to increase that to crores in terms of performance. In case of endorsement, what BCCI imposed is not upto to the limit what we expect. You are here to play cricket and not to act for advertisement.Poor Peoples spends their invaluables to watch cricket on their patrotism of india. If players thinking is on endorsement, how they can concentrate to play cricket.Majority of poor cricket fans think that this the one of the reason why india fails in WC.You should respect the feelings of fans and they are the one who brings the fame for the players.please mind that.you cant give your cheap thought and direct the BCCI to turn their actions. If that happens then oneday both players and BCCI will be kicked off. They are here to play cricket and not for acting. If they still interested in endorsement then dont play cricket for india, quit this place and endorse as many as you want and better concentrate on that.

chetan, you are giving statement against the majority of cricket fans, keep this is mind and better shut all your dirt litterings and get out from here.give tips how to improve the quality of cricket and not this dirts.who asked your opinion?shit

Anybody can be changed to IDIOT by money through mafia and criminals.
It is now Chetan Chauhan trapped by the BCCI mafia and criminals.
Dravid is the most obedient member of that gang.
Dravid is THE WORST captain the world had ever seen.

Chetan's comments on Dravid are quite correct as he is one of those rare breeds of cricket captains whose own performance have not slumped his record was very good till the Word Cup. He has led by his own example as he has been the main sheet anchor and the saviour for his team on numerous occasions, He is a thinking cricketer and surely the best player in the team, he has shown a lot of maturity and astuteness in dealing with press, He has shown that the captain can still be good and gentle to command respect and bring out the best from the players while the world cup may be an isolated case only where his team particularly his senior colleagues both batsmen and bowlers miserably failed him to his utter helplessness not because he failed in leading the team but for some inexplicable reasons difficult to fathom despite whatever details might have come out.

He is perhaps the only player at this stage desrving to lead the team and bring the team back on rails

sukalp Hyd.

You are 100% correct. Dravid is the only consistent player in the Indian team. He knows how to play in any conditions. He may not be the best captain but on the other side, no one else performed under his captaincy. Its not his fault that other players are not performing.

dravid is Mahatma gaandhi of Indian team. "He walked alone" as they say to Bapu, so did Dravid. Always performing and not expecting much in return. Ready to play second fiddle if needed. He is a good leader but less tactics. He needs to improve on that.

RE:Who are you fooling?
by Cricket s on Apr 09, 2007 09:02 PM  Permalink
I would say both are equally bad captains. One-days - India is 50% under Ganguly and Dravid. In fact Ganguly won only 23% of his one-day matches outside India...and Ganguly won 30/31 matches against the likes of Kenya, B-desh, holland, Namibia etc. Overall Ganguly has a poor one-day record as well. Dravid's test record will be as bad as ganguly if Dravid leads for 5 years.

Really? What did he do in South Africa? Who was the best batsman in that tour? Who batted better at home against West indies and Srilanka? If you don't now in last 3 series, Sourav batted much better than Rahul. But it is not a question of batting. The question is who is the leader material.

see my answer. Saurav for the first time in his life scored runs against a decent attack in SA. Just done think that he is going to repeat that.

One-days - most times he has done well. Credit to him.

Still they are considering Dravid. This is waht happens in India. Everything is politics. Politics gets precedence over anything. How the hell Dravid can get selected as a captain again. Shame on Indian cricket board.

What do mean by fit? Physical or mental? If it is physical fitness, have ever heard injury to Dravid? probably, Dravid is one of the fittest players in the world cricket today. If you are talking about mental fit, how can you evaluate this? Being a captain also he is scoring better, he knows how to deal with youngsters. You just cant demoralize his in just 2 defeats. At present, Dravid only deserves captain's position.

I agree with you....it is not necessary for captain to motivateshout at team members for each and every match....The team should feel motivated & committed the moment they put on their Team India Blue Jersey.

Does anybody has to motivate army soldiers everyday?? No they are motivated right from the beginning n then join the army n not vice versa....same thing is applicable in cricket...or as matter of fact in every field of life.
