Sarcasm or real?
by GK on Apr 10, 2007 07:37 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

When I read the title of this article 'Dravid has proved his ability as a captain', I thought it is written in sarcasm but when I read the complete interview I was shocked to see such a crappy statement...it shows lack of cricketing skills analysis by former player.....God save Indian cricket!

Ganguly had big role in defeat in mathch against Bangladesh. He gifted match t o bangaldesh deliberately playing negative cricket just to humiliate dravid and to take revenge against chappell ?? but he betrayed the whole team ganguly wasted more balls than runs he scored poor fielding and poor running wkt and unwilling to take singles cost more runs to team also created pressure on batsman on other side He did not bother to try and hold an easy catch during agarka bowling , Never tried to accelerate run rate He did not tried to hold simple catch during agarkar%u2019s bowling
60 runs in 130 balls how it can help a team cause?? Ganguly had one stage for having batted through nearly 11 overs to make a mere 7 runs.
Yuvraj Scored 47 runs in 10 overs India Scored 191 in 50 overs
Ganguly Scored 66 runs in 21 overs wasted more balls than runs he scored.,
Yuvraj Scored 47 runs in 10 overs
Rest of team scored 50 in 19 overs
Against burmada Ganguly scored 89 in 114 balls wasted 25 balls that is around 4.6 runs per over... compare it to the indian teams average of 8.26
Ganguly was struggling while batting against burmuda, and got 3 lifes Ganguly 7 in 23 balls against SL:
Harbajan singh went wktless in 2 matches
dhoni failed with bat was laughing when he dro[[ed catch t
there were not sight in picture which tv channel shown when India lost ot SL all other players are in tears
Tendulkar scored a duck, Ganguly 7 in 23 balls and Yuvraj 6? Dhoni 0?( match against srilanka)
zahirkahn was wktless in firest match and in he took 2 wkts against SL but he gave more extra runs b'cuz of erratic bowling.
VC captain sachin failed completely with bat
coz the players who played all 3 matchs Except dravid munaf yuvraj nobody has shown commitment?
ganguly in whole faced 266 balls nearly 50 overs and make only 162 runs, the how much pressure built on bats man other end, not incoming bats man doesn't matter india wins or Lose
Ganguly RETURN WAS HYPED BY MEDIA BUT HE WAS NOT IN TEAM UNIFROM ALSO AND HE DID NOT ARRIVE WITH TEAM?? The picute of ind team dressing room which tv channel shown after ind defeat in Sl . all players were in tears but no sight of ganguly dhoni and harbajan!!!! ganguly seflish oppertunist politician ditched dravid and dalmaiy and betrayed team And he can do it anyother players.

As per your comment Ganguly was wasting balls in first two match, but he got out in the match against srilanka early. So lots of balls are left for other batsmen, what did they do ? You go and watch all the matches in the WC. The team batting first struggles to score runs in teh initial overs. Safegaurding wickets in those overs is a must. Thats what Ganguly did. Its a team play. Its bad captaincy and strategy that cost the defeat. Can you show me one instance where Dravid was motivating the team when they lost hope. Ganguly didn't asked them to select batting in the match against Bangladesh. Its dravid who did.

Atleast he is fit in test matches...the 'Maha' jocker Ganguly is not fit in ODI's becos of his fielding exilence and in Test becos of his batting against fast bowlers! He is a CANCER of Indian cricket! Remove him Indian cricket team will start winning again and shut your mouth for that CANCER!!

Relax Dude ! Let us see if Ganguly will be able to hold his place in the team first ! We are talking about someone who leads by example, a young team here.

FYI it is not JOCKER. It is JOKER and Dravid definitely does not fall in that class.

Dude It seems that you do't know abc of cricket in India. Dravid is not bad Captain just wait and see how the things will develop. Ganguly now is not a right choice let some young tallent should come to the team and choose amoung young a captain for Indian cricket.

Please don't use words like stupid and joker for anyone, especially for national players. I think Ganguly is a better captain, but Rahul's is young in the eyes of Sharad Pawar and the Board executives. He has already been declared captain. Even the selectors can't do anything. Accept it. It's real.

How does Dravid..
by the indian on Apr 10, 2007 05:34 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

compare to the greats like Ponting and even kids like Mahela? No comparison! We should get Mahela Jayawardhane to lead indian team if there is NO ONE ELSE in India that can lead the team. The last choice should be Dravid.

It has been said 1000s of times. The whole BCCI meeting affair is hogwash. Dravid will be repentent in public, tendulkar will be given a show-cause note in public and BCCI officials will rant and rave in public. There is a behind the sccene nexus that will ensure the STATUS-QUO inthe coming months. When it is about the time to realize it, you and I will have forgotten the whole affair or busy with our work. All of the show will repeat during next world cup. Look out for a defeat in the hands of Bermuda next time.

Its impossible to change the mindset of some people who think Dravid is a worst captain and player. Just for the sake of bashing him up they start writing some shitty comments (the one from Uttam kumar who wants Dravid's leg to be broken). Uttam do you know what cricket is? Do you know how important is Dravid's presence out in the middle for India. Where were you when we were on a winning spree under Dravid, when we won a test Series in WI, when we won a test match (never India had won a test match in SA). All those goody times, Dravid was a shrewd captain and when he fails, he is rotten bad. YOur mindset is like that. go and learn Cricket and learn about the greatness of Dravid before you comment on him. You guys should read Cricinfo and the comments on dravid from our ex-cricketers and also international cricketers. They, by far, are more knowledgable than you and I. Stop commenting some nonsense on Dravid. You want his services to win matches for India abroad and now you want his legs to be broken. Shame on you. Bangladesh have proved their worth by beating SA. Its just that they played better cricket that day and if you look at the way Tamim iqbal batted, you cant bowl to him, every ball he flashed at, met in the middle of the bat and sailed over. Ireland are another bunch of shrewd cricketers. Eventhough they are not winning matches, they make the opposition sweat. Just becoz people like you are throwing shitty comments, Dravids' genius wont falter. He is and will continue to be a gem of Indian Cricket.

When players only go against captain and coach and betray teammates why blame captain or coach??If player can not perform for team what is his role ? He should be kicked out team

GS Chappell      62      32      27&nb sp;     3/0      51.61

SC Ganguly             146      76      65 &nbs p;    5      52.05%
R Dravid              65      33       28       4       50.77%
The difference of odi wnnin average is only 1% when compared to succss of ganguly & john AND dravid and chappell
Ganguly and john had advanatage of leading team more Nos of matches( almost double) and for five yrs and dravid and ccahppell did not even completed 2 yrs

HARDLY KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT CRICKET....
1.EVEN IN AUSTRALIA....PONTING WONT BE ABLE TO SAVE HIS CAPTAINCY AFTER WHAT HAPPENED TO INDIA IN THE WORLD CUP.....DO U KNOW WHAT HE WENT THROUGH AFTER LOOSING THE ASHES.

2.BCCI MAKING FOOL OF INDIANS.....YOUNG TEAM AND EXPERIENCED CAPTAIN FOR BANGLADESH TOUR.....EVERONE IS FORGETTING THE POINT GANGULY DRAVID AND TENDU ARE THE SAME AGE....TENDU THE BEST FEILDER AMONG THE THREE AND WE NEED TO HIDE BOTH DRAVID AND GANGULY IN THE FIELD.
3.IF ganguly sachin dhoni yuvraj bhajji zaheer sehwag are on one side and DRAVID ON THE OTHER SIDE FIRST WITH CHAPPEL AND NOW WITH BCCI....THEN WE ALL KNOW WHO IS ON THE WRONG SIDE....THIS IS NOT GROUPISM ITS CALLED TEAM BONDING...
4. WHEN DID DRAVID LEAD FROM THE FRONT.....TO DESERVE CAPTAINCY....HE COULDNT WIN THE MATCH AGAINST SRI LANKA....HE GOT YUVRAJ RUN OUT...I BET POTING WOULD HAVE WON FROM THAT SITUATION BUT....DRAVID IS ANY WAY SHIT....

Deepak excellent answer. But few people dont even understand the situation and think about past (like Bradman, sharjah) only. They will never change. If we consider only past, Steeve should be captain for Australia for next 100 years, but he was removed from the one day team. Because of this blind support only, we are not able to win worldcup.
