Instead of resigning from captaincy on moral grounds, Rahul Dravid is shameless enough to stay and upon that busy pursuing the endorsement issue with the BCCI, Is he playing cricket to earn money from advertisements?? Is he a businessman?? Does he not get paid for the cricket he plays??
Why does he and his good-for-nothing team mates concentrate on the game they play instead of focussing on endorsements and sponsors??
Cricket in India is like religion, the 11 players who represent the country must realize this and take pride in it, They should shed off their personal interest and greed for more and more endorsements.
Dravid will never be a good captain as he lack leadership qualities. He just follows the majority wins policy so that he is not in the bad books of seniors. India needs an aggressive captain bcoz the Indian team needs to be kicked on their back to give theie 100%. Unfortunatley there is no one in the presnet team to lead. Ganguly was good but created groupism within the team. The fact is evrybody wnats to stay in the team and earn money no one wnats to take a chance and take decisions. Play it safe and be in team no matter what happens. This attitude has to be changed if India has to get back Sharief

Agree with you. Dravid has very negative body language and hardly shows up as a leader. I have never seen him defend the team. Whatever, may be his faults, Ganguly got the youngsters into the team and boosted them- which Dravid has failed to do. He is not captain material.

100% agree,
To be a captain to lead a team of followers you need to adopt dadagiri and have arogance. To be forced to be captain of 10-14 people you need to gave a good chamcha and licker and have no spine.

Remove politician like ganguly (who batted slowly for personal gains even after sending message 7 times) cricket will improve. Remove non performers like sachin ,pathan ,sehewag cricket will improve Insted of introducing fresh faces in cricket team introduce fresh faces in BCCI then cricket will improve.. TILL THAT PLEASE WATCH FOOTBALL

Heard the latest on CNN IBN y'day ?? Ganguly has been paid by one of his promoters ( for whom he does endorsements) to spend more time at the crease - this means, the longer the time he stays at the crease, the more money he would be paid ( not for scoring more runs, just stay in the middle as long as possible ).. no wonder he stayed at crease as looong as possible and no wonder india lost ..

Chappelll hold the mirror of dirty politics in ind cricket.Nobody speaks against the 2 superstars like ganguly and sachin ppl blame dravid is not inspriraional captain? But when players only grouped against coach and captain why do't blame the players????
sachin is legendary cricketer and great batsman But nobody is bigger than game or team. Being VC he failed with bat . ganguly and sachin have support of other playes and both had success to kick out chappell out of ind dressing room. but cric fans do not require chappell's report for the failure of WC debacle. the early exit of team from WC is b'czu of some players deliberately played the negative cricket and gifted match to bangadesh and SL .chappelll tried push the senior players from comfort zone and treated every body alike and equalthe body language, negative cricket played by some senior players is proof that they did not support dravid as captain. Even knowing all these players are not with him and ganguly is fighting from backstage for captaincy, and vengsarkar, sharad pawar, ravishastri all are with sachin dravid accepted the captaincy. also he should be aware one more defeat means it may be end of his odi career. Dravid gave 100% team when he was playing under sachin , ganguly . He did not promote gropism or never betrayed his teammates. He trusted that seniors like ganguly sachin bajii will support him. Instead may players played petty politics, let down team. It is loss for dravid, then it is loss for ganguly and sachin also. There is no guarantee that sachin amd ganguly can play next WC,
Dravid gave his unconditional support and sacrifices to all captians he played under. Check statistics for last7-8 years and see the contributions of dravid forr little success india had WHY CAN%u2019T OTHER PLAYERS DO THE SAME NOIW??CRICKET ts a team game and ALL PLAYERS have to contribute from bat and ball
Captian and coach did not tell senior players to not take singles, waste more balls than runs scored, poor running bet wkt, drop catches, give so many extra to bowlers, por batting and throwing wkt by playing silly shots%u2026.
, leadership can only take the horse to the water but the horse as to drink it and not vommit.
Even though all senior players are not supporting him, he is fighing with board for contract, endorosement issie
He took fight against chetan desai/ dirty report leak.
he fought for Sehwag/pathan in the selection meeting where the W C squad was picked.
. Sewag is highest rungetter and socred 100 against bermeada others batsman did not score 100 even against bermada
Dravid refused to identify any teammate as doing groupism or out of form or some players are rotten apple.
Dravid accepted the responsibility for defeat in public infront of media( sachin can go media against some bad report / email leak but he never accepted the defeat that he also failed with bat)
Dravid also asked for one media manager, ad managaer and a saying of captain in selection of youngsters,
How can anyone say he is not aggressive or inimaginative or spineless???
it is for players to decide to play for team cause and support captain
or play dirty politics in dressing room and negative cricket on field...
iske age hum kya bole? I agree Dravid is good batsman, but not as a captain. If people say all the players are responsible for defeat, if team won why people give pat to Captain. I agree cricket is team game, but what about leadership, and right decisiions, utilization of work force. Dravid is utterly failed in all of above, he is spinless captain, listen to others and never take right decision. I will give one example, he was captain in one test against Pakistan, due to injury to Ganguly, Sachin is about reach his double hunderd, he was as 196, it hardly takes not more than 10 min to complete his double hundered, but this Dravid suddenly called of innings, at behest of some senior. This shows how pathetic captain he is.if that is the case how can he motivate others. The recent mistakes at world cup, not asking Sachin and saurav to open the innings, in cricket no body is minnows when we are playing in big events. The other mistakes keeping Shewag, Harbhajan, Agarkar instead of Sreesanth, Kartik, Romesh pawar.
These people sitting in the stuio telling Dravid is good captain. I want every body to talk truth, dont worry if hurts somebody, seniros like chuhan is nothing to worry about board or dravid he has to tell the truth. please analyse critically. Sometimes I fee Greg Chappel is acted like Shakuni in Mahabharat and paved way for Australia

buddy tendulkar took 90 mins and 16 overs to go from 180 to 194(its not 196) even after sending 3 messages.. u better check ur data.. and important is that because of that india got enough time to won against pakistan (a rare test win in pakistan ) which led to first series win in pakistan thanks to 273 by dravid in final test..
what u should look here is he was bold enough to take a decision for team benifit ahead of personal milestones..
RE:Dravid proven as a Captain--what a joke
by Sangeeta Das on Apr 10, 2007 12:37 PM Permalink
True. Real Joke. Lacks Leadership skills to the core. I think India does not have any alternative and hence just continue with this one, who will never rebel and always listen to the BCCI.
First, India's overall ODI record under Greg Chappell:
Played 62, won 32, lost 27. It's a fair record - more victories than defeats, a win-loss ratio (1.18) which is better than that achieved by West Indies (1), Pakistan (0.94) and England (0.65), and only marginally behind Sri Lanka (1.22).
Scratch the surface, though, and some disturbing trends emerge: India won 19 out of 28 matches at home - mostly in comfortable batting conditions - but only 13 out of 34 when they travelled overseas. The win-loss ratio of 0.68 is comfortably lower than Pakistan's and England's, and only marginally better than West Indies' 0.57.
The analysis below brings out how the runs scored by the Indian batsmen during this period has been a function of the conditions and the strength of the opposition, not of their own form, which comes and goes depending on the might of the bowlers
numbers reaching Bradmanesque proportions.
Table 1: Indian batsmen in good batting conditions since Sept 2005 Batsman Innings Runs Average 100s/ 50s
Mahendra Singh Dhoni 20 994 99.40 1/ 7
Sourav Ganguly 7 436 72.67 0/ 5
Yuvraj Singh 21 914 60.93 2/ 6
Rahul Dravid 23 1025 60.29 1/ 11
Sachin Tendulkar 17 771 55.07 2/ 6
Suresh Raina 10 352 50.29 0/ 3
Irfan Pathan 10 306 38.25 0/ 2
Virender Sehwag 18 562 31.22 1/ 1
Mohammad Kaif 11 88 9.78 0/ 0
The story is entirely different, when the batsmen have been tested a little more. The next table includes matches which have been a bigger test for batsmen - the Videocon Cup in Zimbabwe, all matches in Sri Lanka, the DLF Cup in Malaysia, and the ODIs in South Africa in West Indieseven 30 in these games.
Table 2: Indian batsmen under difficult conditions since Sept 2005 Batsman Innings Runs Average 100s/ 50s
Mohammad Kaif 24 774 48.38 1/ 6
Yuvraj Singh 25 938 42.64 3/ 4
Rahul Dravid 36 966 29.27 1/ 8
Virender Sehwag 37 1020 28.33 0/ 5
Sachin Tendulkar 18 434 27.13 1/ 2
Mahendra Singh Dhoni 32 713 26.41 0/ 5
Sourav Ganguly 10 229 25.44 0/ 2
Irfan Pathan 22 406 21.37 0/ 2
Suresh Raina 18 260 16.25 0/ 0
Difference in averages between tables 1 & 2 Batsman Table 1 ave Table 2 ave Difference
Mahendra Singh Dhoni 99.40 26.41 72.99
Sourav Ganguly 72.67 25.44 47.23
Suresh Raina 50.29 16.25 34.04
Rahul Dravid 60.29 29.27 31.02
Sachin Tendulkar 55.07 27.13 27.94

Virender Sehwag 31.22 28.33 2.89
Mohammad Kaif 9.78 48.38 -38.6
Tendulkar's overall stats look impressive, but check out his recent performances against the two best sides - apart from the 55 against South Africa at Centurion, he hasn't managed a si

According to me Dravid is the soul reaon for India's WC exit.He doesn't know to motivate the team he plays his game and goes away.
If see his face during the WC matches it is pathetic .He looked fearfull and pathetic. He should be certainly removed from the oneday captaincy and can be given as a test captain.

IN NDTV poll 80% cricketers told dravid continue to as captain where in ndtv programme ganguly paid ageent jadeja and siddu scrreams on top voice anti dravid and pro ganguly on daily basis Cricnext.com Sanyjah 100% supporte of ganguly Should Rahul Dravid be replaced as the captain of the Indian team? And the answer was in the negative with 86 per cent saying he should not be removed with only nine per cent saying that he should be replaced. The rest five per cent did not have any opinion. Indian express pool morethan 50% ppl voted for dravid.. dravid wihot any meida chelas, politician support and dadagiri is still surviaing b'cuz of honest hardwork and performance on the field Even KNOWING very well that ravishashstri, vengi, sharad pawar all sachin boys and ganguly gang is grouped onceagain and playeing dirty politics in dressing room and cricket filed, still he accepted captaincy...one more defeat will maight end his odi careers Then HOW DO CALL HIM AS PATHATIC??? HE IS FAR BATERR CRICKERER AND COMMITED PLAYERS THAN SO CALLED SUPERSTARS WHO BPLAY BACK STAGE POLITICS AND FIGHT IN DRESSING ROOM RATHER THAN ON FILED.....
